Compared to what it use to be...it has improved. Unfortunately, that is not saying much. The education is still lacking in quality and since it is a LAUSD school do not hold your breath for any improvement. The school appears more like a mini prison. I live across the street from this school. Let me tell you how much of a nightmare it is to live by this school. 5 days out of the week from 7:30am til around 5:30 to 6 pm (after school time), the students just scream. All they do is scream throughout the day. Sometimes the screaming is blood-curdling. I once had a visiting relative comment on this and they thought that the students were being attacked in some way. They weren't joking and were genuinely concerned to the point they thought we should contact law enforcement. I had to remind them that they do this every day, it continues after school in the after-school programs. Once, as I was going for a walk by the school, a student, possibly separated from his gym class made a very crude and offensive sexual remark at me (an adult) relating to oral. There were zero adults present and I had no idea how to report this as I was very far from the entrance of the school which is on Firestone. Not very long ago, about 2-3 months ago, a lone student behind the fence was just yelling, "n-er, n-er!!!" repeatedly for close to two minutes straight. The parents are self-entitled. They will block your driveway when it's time to pick up a child. They have been in my own experience combative and aggressive. In the mornings, the parents will play their corridos and Banda music very loud in a residential area. There is a female teacher who uses her megaphone throughout the day to talk to her students during what sounds like gym period. She is the only teacher I hear! It becomes such a nuisance as I work from home. This school makes it very difficult to complain as there are no online forms to fill out, no way to submit any sort of documentation. If I call, they tell me I could only file a complaint in person during school hours and where's the time for that? In this day and age where it's easier to access things via the internet, you still have to go in person. I have lived by this school for decades. This is far from a decent school. It needs a lot of improvement and consideration for the residents that live around it. (For some reason this review shows I am located in San Francisco. Worst LAUSD school my daughter has attended. This school is the reason why I will be pulling her out of LAUSD. The new principal came and switched everything, his new policies which he thinks are great really make no sense, he had a lot of unhappy parents at the 8th grade culmination yesterday. read more

first of all Ms.Munoz and Mr.Clark the deans are so rude to all the students and have no respect for anyone,and they choose favorites Ms.Blanco the attendance lady is very rude to the students.The security is disrespectful they don't respect anyone and say bad words to you.Mr.Tejida the new principal is rude annoying disrespectful disgusting he expresses his feelings very sassy and attitude.Hes the worst principal ever I don't recommend this school for anyone read more

I was sexually harassed by the administration and one Dean in particular. He had sexual relationships with male and female students. He often called me into his office for no reason, and I was often a smart mouth and defended myself. For this, he had groups of girls jump me and try to sexual assault me. I was often bloodied and had torn clothes most days. He had me thrown from a second floor and I landed on my left arm. He was derogatory towards all females even the teachers or Assistant Principals. He refused to place me in advanced courses, and I needed each teacher to individually demand it. Once I graduated, he realized my brother was starting 6th grade, and he made sure to have him jumped and assaulted on a regular basis. He was sexually assaulted in the office, and because his fear response is to freeze, he couldn't get away. The Dean made sure to zip his pants after opening the door. It was a painful living hell. I sent my son the the winter academy to help his grades and he told me he just had the worst time of his life and I think so to do first he left his AirPod in the office and then he tried to go get the back and they refused and I still haven't got them back and second he told me that the staff Mr Davila and Mr asced or how ever you spell his name he was harassing my son all day asking where he is going why is he out of class when my son had to go the bathroom they harassed him I thinks this school is really bad would not recommend and the winter academy sucks just a way for the staff to make more money and they have no breaks just 6 hours in one class I don't thinks that is healthy for a 14 year old growing boy to just stay in a class room for 6 hours straight read more

This is not a very good school it has lots of bullies and fights. I highly recommend you send your children to a different school.
