Red Deer, Alberta, Canada
I got too tired heading to Edmonton from Central Montana where camp was set up. This is after visiting several museums, and completing the "once in a lifetime" Glacier National Park trip which I finished this second time around.
Fatigue and being in the middle of nowhere in another country is a bad combo. Everything worked out well in the end once I was able to reach a place with data service. I pulled out by chance due to a bunch of signals and a sign that says "Historic Gasoline Alley." What the heck? Traveling on the eastern portion going north was random motels, kind of sketchy looking but I'm in Canada ayee, how ghetto can these people be compared to my old barrio in Los Angeles?
Pulled up to the motel with the least amount of cars to make sure a room is available, and if no one is around, we can set up camp in the back near the trailer park/homes. That wasn't necessary because... of all people... There was a Korean owner who spoke broken English... Of all the places... Almost 2,000 miles from home, in the middle of "Red-Neck" Canada... An older Korean ajoma that is like my mom.

Butt saver for someone in my predicament.
Crazy thing... this motel still uses keys~!!!!!
The lady didn't ask if i smoked, or didn't tell me don't smoke in the rooms.. Rather she said, 'I'll put you in the back, away from everyone, so you can smoke where the equipment will help keep you warm.'
