She made me feel very at ease. And the best part is that every chair has its own TV right in front of it. Perfect for people who would rather take their minds off of what is going on in their mouths. The open floor plan seems a little weird at first (the dental chairs are separated by furniture) but it soon became comfortable. The dentist went over my x-rays with me and he didn't even annoy me with the "your brushing your teeth too hard" lecture. Yup, I've heard that before and I appreciate the love! Attitude and customer service aside (not top notch); my biggest issue is that if we are late or miss a meeting and are totally onboard with paying the $50 fee for missing the appt - they ALWAYS suddenly develop availability issues for future appointments and are booking 2-3 months out. Paying a "late" fee is one thing, but delaying treatment for anything health related is not the kind of punishment I expect from my healthcare provider. This is not a one time thing. This happens EVERY time you are late for or miss an appointment. Every medical office's customer service has suffered from the retraining they've gotten over the past few years, but this is a different level.

She was very calm, thorough, and professional when explaining my procedure and what to expect. She left a lot of room open for questions during my consult, before and after my appointment. During my procedure, Dr. Gilberg and her hygienist that was assisting, made it as worry-free as possible. I was able to wear headphones and they even tapped on my shoulder during the numbing process to distract me-which I thought was a unique and thoughtful gesture. Dr. Gilberg also makes herself available for any questions or concerns post-procedure. The office itself was also fantastic. I do have a regular dentist for cleanings & checkups, but SJ Periodontics is where I go when I have gum or implants issues. Not a fun time... but it's better than a bad procedure!
