I asked if the had any Dom Perignon and they said they were out of it. I told them I have called 4 times to find out if they had it and noone answered the phone. They looked at me like "O well"sorry. Shortly after, a younger guy, who appeared to be the owner's son, turned off the lights while my husband was still in the store. The owner laughed and joked with customers minutes before this happened. Not only that, but they didn't even speak when my husband walked into the store. Such a bad example to set for the young boy that was there with you.

I've been going to Merchant's for about 7 years now. They've changed ownership at least once since…read morethen, but the customer service has never seen a decline. Previously, the employees were knowledgeable about beer and wine. Now, what they lack in overall knowledge, they make up for in a desire to try new things and order whatever their customers want. For example, this past weekend I noticed a 4 pack of Goose Island Bourbon County Stout. I've never tried this beer, but have heard good things. The problem was the price - $23.99/4 pack! I asked if they would consider breaking the 4 pack and they did! No problem. On top of that, the guy behind the counter said he would take one home to try so we could compare notes. A strong desire to serve the customer - what else can you ask for?
