Now, fights happen more frequently and my daughter said they won't kick anyone out due to "no student left behind". That has nothing to do with bad behavior kids, and that is for kids who have bad grades. Besides that, when your child signs up for the traditional program, you sign a contract that you essentially are going to be more involved with your child. It also explains behavior expectations. 2 of the fights last week, a student was jabbed with an object. One if the fight was a kid being jumped by a group of others. The principal this year does not communicate like the principal last year. If he does, I would like to know how. I haven't received an email or text, about this problem. I guess they aren't going to address it to the parents. I even asked the PTSA group about this issue and can't get a response. If you are considering this school, be aware it is not the same if you once attended years ago. Giving 3 stars since I would rate our other public schools 1-2. Jefferson County Public Schools is horrible, in my experience.

Drive thru service is available and is roped off in a dedicated area accessible from Mercer Avenue. I ordered a fish filet and opted to forgo the choice of white or rye bread. I initially chose green beans and Cole slaw, but opted for rice pilaf when I realized it was a vinegar slaw. I also received a hush puppy, which was quite tasty. The fish filet was flakey and seasoned well, albeit a bit salty and a tad browner than preferred. Rice pilaf ended up being abandoned after a few bites since it was bland and mushy. Green beans were predictably fine. Self-service with automated hand towel napkin dispenser and also large gallon pump dispensers for ketchup and tartar sauce. Great idea! Drink service is a separate line at a concession window. Soda, tea, and water were $1. Beer, sangria, and margaritas were also available at a separate concession window. Gym dine-in was very large and well organized with plenty of tables and chairs in rows. Centralized garbage cans and recycling containers. Noise level was very loud and opted not to participate in raffles since we couldn't hear and so missed out on purchasing tickets this week. Cake wheels and other fundraising games of chance were set up near entrance. Security guard on duty (off-duty LEO) at exit.

There is a separate area for drinks, you cannot buy them in the main line. I am normally very devout in my order of fish, it has not ever changed the whole time I have been going to these, but there was something called Spicy fish on the menu that was just too intriguing to pass up. And I am glad I ordered it because it was great. A slightly spicy, big piece of flaky fish. Really nice. It was too "wet" to eat with bread but that is OK, less carbs right? haha I also had the Mac and cheese, which was very creamy and a nice size portion, as well as a piece of cheese pizza which was good. The one thing I thought was hilarious is at the front they had some kind of game where a ton of children were playing. It was basically roulette (they spun a wheel and you put a marker down on what number you thought the wheel would land on) and all I could think was that it was odd that they would teach children gambling inside of a church, but hey, its not my church so LOL

They have a lot of recipe cards and informational pamphlets available. They also offer a variety of free community classes. Everyone is always super friendly and welcoming. There is a kitchen for reserved use and restrooms. It is a great resource overall for our sweet community!
