The man who towed my car was lovely. The woman who I interacted with multiple times since Thursday is one of the most rude, unprofessional people I have ever spoken to. She originally quoted me $345 after my car was towed on Thursday night. She then stated I could not drive my car off the lot and that it would be an additional $200 for them to tow it. They also gave me a contract to sign stating the storage fee was $50 per day. When I pointed out that that goes against the maximum rates they have posted, the staff person told me that was a "good catch" by me and he would fix it. I shared this with the woman who told me that it was obviously a mistake and I should get over that. When I called today after repeated negative interactions trying to find a way to get my car out of their lot, she yelled at me because I questioned their pricing scheme and asked for a price breakdown based on the Stafford Township, Ocean County, and NJAC ordinances. They have both Stafford Township and Ocean County posted in their office. She screamed that I was the one being difficult and I didn't understand how the ordinances work. She said NJ Administrative Codes do not apply to them. Then told me I could not pay over the phone, so I would have to commute two hours to allow my car to be removed. When I got there, she yelled at me again, called me difficult, and told the other worker that I wasn't understanding the ordinances that they have posted. When I pointed out the differences in the legally admissible charges and what she had quoted me since Thursday, she said that I didn't understand what she was saying. She refused to give an itemized invoice twice. She also quoted the person next to me $850 for their tow and winching without providing any invoice. I'm not sure if it is just the people who were working or if it is a pattern for the company to not provide itemized invoices to customers and scream at those who ask for a pricing breakdown, but the experience I just had was the worst customer experience I have ever had. I would also like to stress that I did not request the tow, the Stafford Township PD did, and this is how this woman acted. I work a customer service job. I understand that customers can be wrong. What I don't understand is how they took the opportunity of a car being totaled to repeatedly attempt to overcharge a customer, scream at them multiple times, and accuse them of being difficult for asking for a price description and how that pricing scheme fits into mandatory maximums as required by law. I highly recommend going to Midnite Towing. A complaint has been filed with New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs. read more

Awesome Service! My Jeep got stuck on the beach and I called South Shore and they originally told me about an Hour, I was ok with that because I was on Long Beach Island beach, It was Friday Night, getting dark and I was really in a bind. Even though they were far away and the local tow companies refused to come out to help me until the morning South shore showed up in 30 minutes, and were Very professional. this place is a joke lolll , i got here at 3:57 & the door was locked so i called & the lady on the phone was SO rude & told me they were closed & i couldn't pick up my car for another 2 days because of the holiday but yet i still have to pay for the days they are closed! absolute bullshit . my car shouldn't have been towed to begin w & now i have to deal w this! do not recommend & have nothing positive to say about the women on the phone but i will say the tow driver was very nice & helpful . read more

On Easter Sunday one of my tires split open near Exit 77 on the Garden State Parkway. It was a very frightening experience. I called South Shore Towing and lucky for me they sent Joe Cool. Joe went out of his way to help me. He towed my car to a tire store parking lot (all stores were closed because it was Easter) and then drove me to a hotel because I was far from home. On Monday morning I was able to get in touch with the tire company and get a new tire. I don't know what I would have done without Joe. Not many people would have cared about going the extra mile for a customer. Too many people feel "it's not my job". Thank goodness for people like Joe. I will be forever grateful to him and will think of him every Easter. Thanks so much Joe. I can't begin to tell you how thankful I am. read more

She explained everything I needed to do since my wife was stuck on the parkway with a blowout. AAA had her on hold forever so I called South Shore directly. Half hour prior to them coming out at a prearranged time, they confirmed who they expect to be meeting and the directions. I am not sure how to begin and keep this brief. Suffice it to say my car was working just fine until it wasn't @noon on a Friday in Barnegat Light. I had to leave the next day and then travel to Pittsburgh. I went through my insurance road side assistance who set up towing to a shop a few miles down the road, but when I called them to let them know my vehicle would be arriving soon, they abruptly let me know they could not look at it until Wednesday or Tuesday at the earliest. So here I am, on vacation, and expecting a tow truck any minute that is planning to tow it to a shop that cannot touch it until the next week. I felt helpless as I called multiple garages on and off the island that all said the same thing-they are booke, closed tomorrow, but maybe Monday. Let's just say Pete arrived, charged my car and made a phone call for me after I was literally in tears when multiple businesses could not work on it or could not fit me in until Monday and spoke to the owner of the business making sure that they had the correct battery and could do the job that afternoon. Before Pete left, he gave me his card and told me to call him if I had any issues as he would be on the island all weekend. When I told him he reminded me of my brother and thanked him for his kindness, he said something like "I treat everyone this way; the world is hard enough right now." Getting my car running again so I could leave on schedule was not something I thought possible until Pete arrived with his calm, confident demeanor, and stayed until he made sure I would be taken care of. He was an angel in the midst of two very difficult days for me personally and a wonderful reminder that there are many good people in the world! Called South Shore( call made by Geico) after my Jeep blew a water pump. Was told by Geico the ETA would be about 30 minutes. I contacted South Shore myself to them a better location, from the dispatcher on the phone to the driver Tyler who arrived in 15 minutes all A+. They are a professional company. Polite, neat, friendly. Tyler gave me a ride to the repair shop and made sure i had a ride home before leaving. Highly recommend for all ur towing needs. read more
