Tim asked if I would like to escalate the situation with management which I agreed. The manager never even tried calling back. I've owned cars since 1984 and never treated as badly as this place. A family vacation to see Deadwood, Mt. Rushmore, and the sights of western South Dakota came very…read moreclose to being a disaster, which was averted by the service of White's Canyon Ford and service manager Marc Weimer. After driving 3 days from California, we took a little side detour to Devil's Tower in Wyoming. Going up the hill, our van (a wheelchair adapted E-150) suddenly would not shift higher than 2nd gear. Instead of going into high gear, it would pop into neutral and suddenly over-rev. Nothing I could do would get that to change so we Googled the nearest Ford dealer, which was White's Canyon in Spearfish, SD...about 40 miles away. We limped it in, getting into the dealer around lunch time. Marc pulled a couple of strings to get our van looked at right away. Unfortunately, he had bad news...and worse news. Our van needed a new transmission (I suspect the lube shop that did the service before we left used the wrong transmission fluid). The dealer did not have a replacement in stock so one had to be ordered from Salt Lake City and would take about a week to arrive. Now we were looking at a lost vacation, a very expensive repair, and not knowing what was going to happen to us for the next week to ten days with a son in a very expensive and heavy wheelchair to deal with. Marc said not to worry, he was going to take us under his wing and do what he could to make sure we could at least still enjoy our vacation. He talked the owner into lending us a van, found us a place to rent a lightweight manual wheelchair (since we no longer had a wheelchair lift available to us), and promised to keep in touch to let us know when the replacement came in. Long story short, we still got to enjoy our trip...although it extended to 20 days instead of the 11 planned...they got the van fixed (it runs great, with a 2 year unlimited mileage warranty), and a big, dark cloud of worry and disappointment was lifted from our heads. We left the dealership shaking hands and wearing smiles, thankful for the helpful service and compassion of the service staff at White's Canyon Ford.

Dropped my car off because I was leaving for a few months for training in the national guard and…read moreneed the exhaust welded. While I was at training a groundhog chewed through my wiring harness. A dog got out and tried to get the ground hog and chewed up the bumper and damaged paint on other panels. I was never contacted about the damage and the exhaust was never fixed until I was back and they gave me the car back with damages never being fixed. Sent the car back to get the grill fixed and so the bumper would stay on properly and headlights would mount. Called frequently and got ignored or told "we don't have time". After months of poor service and quality I got tired of playing games. Car still has damaged paint to hood, bumper and fairings. Lack of integrity and responsibility.

In preparing for our only chance at a rally in 2015 (the Menage a Trois) I had a service…read moreappointment scheduled at BMW of Utah in Sandy a couple days prior to the rally. Part of that service was to include new tires. As the riding season rolled on I realized we probably wouldn't have enough tire left to make it to SLC. With that in mind I called Sturgis Motorsports (our nearest US BMW shop) a couple weeks in advance and set up an appointment for first thing in the morning on a Tuesday. My thinking was if someone was going to destroy the TPM sensors, might as well be a place that stood a reasonable chance of having them in stock. At 0330 that morning, with both fuel tanks topped off, I turned south for Sturgis. Six hours later (yah, the nearest dealer was a six hour ride away) I was waiting at their front door for them to open (because of the time difference I got there a half hour early)... That's when the fun started. "I'm here for my 0900 appointment for new tires." "We don't do appointments. I don't know who told you that you had an appointment. It's first come, first served." Fortunately I was first come... "We will get started right away." "Where is the customer lounge and coffee pot?" "I think there are some chairs upstairs, the nearest coffee shop is a quarter-mile down the road that direction..." "Please tell them to put 38 psi in the front and 40 psi in the rear." "We don't do that. They are going to put in whatever the sidewall says to use for maximum pressure. You'll get whatever you get." TWO AND A HALF HOURS later, they finally get done and hand me a bill for $575 which included $50 for *each* tire for just the swap... I haven't ever paid that much for a swap even when I carried the wheels and outsourced tires into a random shop. Let alone when I was paying a premium price for "discounted" tires from the place that was doing to swap. Yah... he told me I received a "discount" on the tire price. Turns out their 'discount' was 20% *over* MSRP. Yah... I'll set fire to the bike and walk away before I even let them put maximum pressure air in my tires again.
