The whole of Kilian's is barely the size of the barbecue display at Lowe's. If you want the experience of a big box store that has almost everything, and is the same in every city or town, and where no one cares about anything, don't come to Kilian's. But if you want to talk to a real person about what concrete anchors they recommend, or about which adhesives work best for pressure treated lumber, you could do worse. If, however, you're like me and you're chasing the circle of existence, the cycle of living and dying, raging against the tide of nihilistic despair that is this age of necrotic empire, squeezing meaning out of this life through sheer force of will, then let go of your child's hand and let them wander the antiquated aisles of this institution, let them learn for themselves what a real hardware store is like.

The staff took the time to help us find a simple, but unique frame, and demonstrated the difference between normal and museum glass (usually we'd probably do normal glass, but in this case the museum glass was totally worth the splurge). We explained what our calligrapher had told us and they reassured us that they would be able to match the paper color and properly space the glass (and they did!). Was quoted two weeks: two weeks and two days later we received the promised call and home delivery in a well-protected package with easy hanging mounts pre-installed on the back with directions and the hardware we needed to hang it on our wall. I recently came here with my mom bc she finally wanted to get a new fridge. It was on a Monday- they were able to send the guys over on the same day to measure the fridge & doorway space, which was great. We went back Tuesday morning to order the Frigidaire fridge that she fell in love with at first sight- she said it was the perfect height & size for her. On Wednesday, I received a call saying it can be delivered within the next hour- we were excited but unfortunately, when they unpacked the fridge off their truck, it was damaged so they had to order a new one. Long story short, the fridge was delivered on Thursday & my mom loves it. Everything went smoothly- shoutout to Carl who helped us- we couldn't have asked for a better experience. C&D carries all major brands of home appliances as well as mattresses- they have it all.

First experience with Dominic's: I had them come take a look at a tenant's clogged dishwasher and…read morebroken ice maker. They told me they were ordering a new part for the ice maker. After waiting for weeks, I called for an update on when the replacement part would show up. Dominic's response: we don't fix fridges. Second experience: I called Dominic's explaining that an error reading "cd-0" had started appearing on the display panel of my stove and was no longer going away when I hit clear on the stove or reset the power via the circuit breaker. They sent a repair person to "diagnose" the issue. The "diagnosis" involved him standing in my house for a total of about 5 minutes and not even touching the stove. In other words, he stared at my stove displaying its self-diagnosis that was appearing on the display panel. After his visit, there was no follow up regarding parts that needed to be ordered, repair time, or repair cost. Just a charge to my credit card for $107. I even called Dominic's and left a message and didn't get a call back. When I was able to reach Dominic's, I was told it would cost as much to repair the stove as it would to replace it. Meanwhile, during my first call to them, I had expressed a concern that this would happen. I had even asked them how fixable the issue was given the meaning behind the error code being displayed. Dominic's at least listened to my complaint and tried to explain why they do things the way they do, but sorry, no thank you to paying $107 to have someone come into my house, stare at a display error on my stove, and leave. Other businesses I've worked with will have you talk to a technical expert before bringing anyone to your property. Never again!
