Millbury Credit Union is great, the staff is knowledgable and friendly. They actually give you advice on how to avoid fees, rather than banks who knowingly mislead you so they can collect fees. Most banks make most of their money off fees, not interest. Don't think that just cause you go to a small local bank its the same thing as a credit union. Many small local banks have the same formula for success as large banks and follow the same business model. They work to maximize their profits while claiming they are not like bank of america. I have all the perks...I pay no monthly fees, have all atm fees waived, can pay bills online, can transfer money between accounts online, and can deposit checks on my phone with the UniBank app. I seriously recommend this bank to any local college or high school students. The service team is prompt and friendly and setting up a business checking account was a fairly easy process. Technologically, I'd describe UniBank as good, but certainly not great. The company they use to provide online business credit card processing was very much behind the curve, and I replaced them with Paychex which offered much better and current technology, easier website integration, and simplified credit card and ACH processing all at lower costs. Their online check deposit process via cell phone is pretty good, on occasion it can't recognize a check which then has to be deposited in person. But since they are conveniently located, that's not an issue. Overall, a good local bank for personal and business uses.
