I started with Dr. Yurio and after a few sessions of physical therapy ordered an MRI. Turns out I completely tore my ACL and part of my meniscus. I was presented with my options and ultimately decided to have surgery to repair my injuries. I was transferred to Dr. Kaplan and he again presented me with my options. I decided to continue moving forward with the surgery. At no time was I pressured into having the surgery. For my lifestyle and health it made sense to move forward. Fast forward to surgery day - The surgery center is in the same building and is well maintained. I was introduced to several people who would be participating in the surgery and each one confirmed with me why I was there. It was clear patient care and safety was a top priority. Follow up appointments were a breeze. They email any paperwork required prior to the appt. And after check in the most I ever waited was 5 mins in the big waiting room or in the actual room. I saw either the PA and Surgeon during these appts. Both were professional and never made me feel rushed and felt comfortable asking questions. I was in and out in less than 30 mins from check in to check out. I had a positive experience from start to finish with this group of Dr.s and would recommend them. There are several Dr.s with different specialties available. I did see one of the foot Dr.s several years ago, can't recall his name, and did not have the same positive experience.

From looking around, and seeing the other Therapists I would say she's the absolute best. The other therapists are young and don't have any patients hardly ever. I think there are 3 good PTs here and Elizabeth is definitely one of them. Seriously, Elizabeth is amazing. I would only go to her. Only. The management really needs to do something about the younger therapists and front staff. It's bothersome. They're arrogant and if they don't want to be there they don't need to be. It ruins everything there. I see them work with people and they are not happy. This review would be 5 for Elizabeth. Front desk staff ruins it.

Then, when I see the PA, I ask again about what are my options and plans for further knee solutions instead of just a shot? She has to look at my chart and leaves. Deja Vu, this is what happened during my last visit. *Maybe looking at my chart and being somewhat familiar with my situation after being a client for over a year would be nice and make me feel as if I have a doctor who is involved. Anyways, we talk. I figure out I'll need to keep up with physical therapy. It's a sensible prognosis. I'm sad though because I feel as though I don't have the support I need. I have friends who are clients of JOI and they are being supported and taken care of with shots, plans, and check-ins every step of the way. They have returned to their tennis team while I have not. I've read the other reviews and am glad others have had a great experience. Perhaps if I was getting surgery, I would get more service.

Review for Nicklous Godley, PA -- Jacksonville Orthopedic Institute…read more this is my first review and I'm almost 70 years old I have been in chronic, excruciating hip pain since September 2024 and have been under JOI's care since November 2024. At my initial visit, I was diagnosed with bursitis and sent to Brooks Rehab for 11 sessions. After completing the rehab, I received no follow-up, no feedback, and no guidance on next steps. Months later, I found out my provider had quit -- but no one at JOI ever contacted me or continued my care. I was left in pain with nowhere to turn. Today, I had an appointment with Physician Assistant Nicklous Godley, and unfortunately, it was one of the most disheartening and unprofessional medical experiences I've ever had. From the moment he learned I wasn't ready to move forward with surgery, his demeanor completely changed. He became dismissive, cold, and disengaged. I explained that I've been waking up every night in pain and asked multiple times for him to complete an FMLA form so I wouldn't face consequences at work while trying to manage this condition. He refused, saying that I'm not a patient of his and that JOI would only consider FMLA after I scheduled surgery -- even though I've been with JOI for nearly a year. In the middle of the conversation, he did say, "I'm sorry this sounds so harsh," but by that point, the damage was done. His words and tone felt completely lacking in empathy. I came in desperate for relief and left feeling ignored and deeply disappointed. There is no continuity of care here, no accountability, and no real concern for what the patient is going through. I cannot recommend Nicklous Godley to anyone seeking compassion, understanding, or true medical support. I felt like he was a used car salesman if he wasn't gonna be able to close a deal by scheduling me with some sort of surgery! He brought up knee surgery back surgery and completely turn very rude and cold because I was not interested in surgery ! horrible experience today He asked and I quote "why are you here if you're not scheduling a surgery" Do your homework before you pick out this guy terrible experience Horrible bedside manner.

First off, the doctors and nurses here would get five stars easily. Every doctor and PA I've seen has been excellent, careful, willing to spend time explaining things. However...this facility has massive staffing issues. You literally cannot get anyone to answer the phone here. I showed up for a morning appointment recently, and the line to check in was 40 people deep, curling all the way around a pretty large room, with maybe three staffers actually working while the rest milled around. I had an afternoon appointment a couple months before that, and when I went to the lobby to check out and schedule a follow-up, there was literally one person working with ten patients waiting. I'm not sure what's going on, but they need to invest in hiring maybe twice as many folks to support the great doctors and nurses here. Otherwise this practice will grind to a halt.

His staff was very nice and they too expressed that if they needed the surgery they would trust him to take care of them. So surgery was last Friday at UF North and of course like most doctors things were running behind so I had to wait my turn. No big deal except for being hungry. When it was time for surgery the anesthesia doctors were very nice and explained everything. I had a nerve block and then some sleepy time meds and the next thing you know I was done and in recovery asking for some snacks and ginger ale. The recovery nurse was so nice, she said I have chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin granola bars and my response was YES! She started laughing. I won't go into the pain etc, you can go to YouTube and see all the whiners about that stuff. One thing for sure, all this velcro on this sling and sling fanny pack thing is itchy as hell and someone should come up with something to cover this crap. Not sure using pantyliners is outdoor acceptable, but kitchen towels are too heavy and scarfs are too hot. Velcro...my only complaint!

I finally googled an orthopedic walk-in as we have them at home and I didn't want to get the flu or something else from a standard walk in. I called their number to see if the office close to me had walk in hours and they said no only Manderin office so they took my info to make a patient record for me and I drove over. Got there about 11:15 and they let me know Dr Brown was also seeing scheduled patients so it probably wouldn't be until 1 that I saw him. No problem I had expected a longer wait. They took X-rays right away and then someone did intake on me and back to the lobby I went to wait. About 1230 got called back to the room and he came in about 5 min later. He did some tests on my range of motion and suggested PT two times a week and to heat it and maybe take some Tylenol or Advil. If the pt doesn't improve the situation then they scheduled a follow up with a dr close to my place for 5 weeks out. Still waiting on the call to schedule PT about 15 hours later. Will update the review if I have any issues scheduling that!

I had overheard that he was running about 45 minutes behind from other patients who came in after me and that was really unacceptable. I'm not sure what happened during the day but when he did see me I didn't feel rushed. He took the time to listen to me and examine my thumb to see if there was something wrong with it. I was fitted with a brace, prescribed some NSAIDS, and have a follow-up appointment set for a few weeks away. I'm not sure that I want to come back to this location though. I'll see how my thumb does.

I wouldn't usually review a medical office, but my experience today was so great I just had to! I…read moremet with Dr. Patel last week and he seemed confident and informed. He promptly scheduled me for an infusion this week and that's what I had today. There is plenty of parking, a large lobby, and even a vending machine for snacks if your infusion takes a while like mine did! Let me preface I have a horrible fear of needles, so this kind of place is a nightmare for me. When I told the nurses and the people who draw blood, they were so quick to make me as comfortable as possible. Kris, the nurse manager, was able to find a vein in my baby sized veins. She was so patient, kind, and compassionate. I get anxiety about being a burden since I can be difficult, but she didn't make me feel that way for a second. Another honorable mention is the nurse I had, Jasmine, who was so attentive and supportive. She explained things very thoroughly and made me feel confident in the treatment I was getting. I couldn't have asked for a better nurse. Overall, if you come here, be assured you'll have some great care with professionals who lead with compassion and patience. No one wants to go to a cancer center, but the nurses and doctors change that once you meet them.

My family and I have been patients of Dr. Mark Pierce since 2008. In fact, we now live in Orlando…read moreand drive clear up to Jacksonville once a month, just to be seen by Dr. Pierce. We have found two other AO Drs in our area, but their level of care just does not compare to that of Dr. Mark Pierce Chiropractic. Their more all-natural approach to chiropractic care (Atlas Orthogonal) was known to my husband but foreign to me. I instantly felt relaxed and comfortable with Dr. Pierce. My X-rays showed that my spine was indeed out of alignment, most likely due to everyday living - poor posture and sleep habits. And Dr. Pierce instantly noticed that my atlas was "red hot" and asked if I ever felt discomfort there (at the base of the neck). I said, "Of course, all of the time. I get migraines at least twice a month, but I thought that was just me." Well after my first adjustment, I felt relief in that area for the first time since I was a young teenager. I had become so used to that constant pain and migraines that I did not know what it felt like to be relieved of that pressure. We continued to see Dr. Pierce frequently until my alignment held (the body will kick it out and go back to its old ways if not properly maintained at first). I am thrilled to say I have not had a migraine headache since (going on 5 years without having to pop a maxalt). And I am more aware of my body now and can tell when I am out of alignment and need an adjustment. I used to have irritable bowl and this has cured that as well. I am walking, living proof that this method works. And it works simply because they are treating the true cause of the problem, not some symptom further down in the body. Mark Pierce is an exceptional Dr. in this field. He truly knows his stuff. He has character and integrity and really gets to know each of his patients. His staff is warm, friendly and helpful.
