Procedure was fine. However, I was assured in no uncertain terms THREE times that my procedure would be covered by my insurance - assured and reassured. Months after the procedure, I received a $900+ bill. I complained since my written estimated cost after the $500 I paid up front was $0. I was given a 'courtesy discount' and left with $649.00 to pay after trying to work with my insurance but to no avail. Dr. Brock was out of network, despite repeated claims by his office that I was covered. The lesson to learn is: Talk to your own insurance company. You cannot believe what you are told and once you sign that you'll pay any difference and the work is done, you're taken. read more

I was seen in May of 2025 and when I walked out I asked the front desk if I owed anything and was told no because she could not help me since my tooth was cracked. Several weeks later a bill for over $100.00 came in the mail. In the meantime, I went back to my regular dentist who didn't feel comfortable with her findings and sent me to Dr. Settles in Ellijay GA who then ran more extensive testing (without charging me a dime) and I found out that in fact my tooth was not cracked as I was told at Southeastern Endodontics and was happily able to save my bridge. I highly recommend you do NOT use this endodontics and use Dr Michael Smith in Dalton GA. His office staff is superior with their insurance knowledge and Dr. Smith is the by far the superior endodontic by far. His knowledge and level of care is phenomenal. read more

The staff was out front was very nice, but I think Dr Brock may need to work on his bedside manners a little bit. I total understand that I was having a root canal, and I have had them before as well a having a tooth pull. I must say this was worse exprince I have ever had with a dentist. I was in so much pain, Dr Brock rub my gums with a numbing cream, and 2 secs later he stick the needle in my gums. did not give the numbing time to take effect, so I said sometime to him I was in pain his rude remark was I'll stop if you want me to. I responded should we wait till the medicine take effect. he said I only have to wait 30 seconds, I said wow ok sir then did it 3 more time was not even concern If I was unconfotomer or not. I was sent here to check if a tooth needed a root canal before putting a permanent crown on. Doctor came in and was super nice. She checked my tooth, and let me know that she need not see the need for a root canal. Very honest and professional. I had a root canal on 2 teeth within the last 4 years. Both of them have continuously became abscessed. I've had one removed already and the other will be removed today. I've had one other root canal by my personal dentist that lasted over 20 years. For them to be "specialists", their work is not worth it. Both teeth cost me over $700 and that's WITH insurance to try and save them but their word just don't hold up. I was given 2 options. Have a second root canal done on both teeth, or have them removed. I am NOT spending over $700 AGAIN on the teeth they didn't do quality work on. The doctor and staff were fine however, not my best experience. The office requires you to give them your social security number, if you don't they require you to pay the total full amount at time.of service. Whenever they file the claim with your insurance and the insurance pays them then they will reimburse you what is left over after payment. There is no sign in the office stating that nor did they tell me any of this on the phone. I don't like to give my ss# out willie nillie especially since while I was standing there the receptionist walked away from the desk and left my patient info sheet lying on the desk for anyone to see. It appears that they do this knowing most patients are in pain and will just give in. I understand they want to make sure they get paid but I had insurance and shouldn't be forced to pay the full amount because I didn't want to give up my SS#. read more

So I had to get my very first root canal after 45 years of pretty good luck with my teeth. I' m not one that has a fear of dentists but having never experienced something like a root canal, I just didn't know what to expect. My regular dentist referred me to Dr. Brock for the procedure and I had to wait about 2 weeks before I could get in but the staff were great at keeping me updated in case they had a cancellation. They already had checked with my dental insurance about what was covered. The office is very sleek and modern and open. The staff are all really nice and professional. Dr. Brock has such a great and calming manner about him. Puts you at ease. He went over the options and did some testing to make sure that I did indeed need the root canal. The entire process took less than an hour from start to finish. And best part, it was very affordable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dr. Brock and his office. read more

I went to get a rout canal today and I was in very much pain to where I was shaking , weak and crying witch means a lot because I don't cry I received a paper that said to take ibuprofen and Tylenol and I followed those directions when I finally couldn't take any more I called the office where they straight up told me that they wouldn't prescribe me any medicine even though on my papers they said I could get them upon request it was the worst experience of my life and I will not be back for now on if I need something done I will be asking my main dentist to refer me somewhere else who actually cares for there patients and there pains read more

I received a root canal on a Monday and was told I would I have numbness in my face for the following two hours after the procedure. My face was numb for the remainder of the day & continued to be numb & swollen the next day. I called to express my concern & the staff were kind on the phone & told me that this happens to people sometimes (having lingering numbness from the medication) & to call the following day if the swelling / numbness continued. The next day (Wednesday), the swelling / numbness was still present, but had gone down, so I was hopeful that it would continue to do so in time. Today is Friday (5 days since my root canal), & my face is not quite back to normal just yet. I went in to get the bleach out of my tooth & receive the final filling for my root canal & wanted to address the lingering side effects I was experiencing in my face with Dr. Brock. I have never felt so invalidated and humiliated in my life. After explaining the difference in my face that I have experienced over the past 5 days since the procedure, he says that my face looks fine, completely invalidating my concern. Not to mention, he was seated to the right side of me, not even being fully able to assess the left side of my face. I ask him at what point I should be concerned if my face doesn't go back to normal & he proceeds with "clearly you're already concerned, so you can consult with a plastic surgeon or oral surgeon." I asked him if there could be possible nerve damage after the anesthesia or procedure & he says no. He continued to invalidate me by saying my face looked fine to him, but he also didn't even take a second to examine what I was actually talking about. He said, "you said you experienced swelling, but we never saw you, so I don't see the swelling that you're referring to." He continued to gaslight me by telling me my face looks fine without ever examining it & trying to make me feel like I never experienced actual swelling because he didn't see it. He just kept saying there was nothing he could do and that I should see a plastic surgeon if I am that concerned. I felt so judged in my attempt to express my feelings. I CAME IN TO GET MY TOOTH FIXED AND LEFT WITH A BOTCHED FACE. I'm not crazy for feeling upset or concerned about that. He was so rude and unprofessional. I literally started crying because of the way he was making me feel & he said, "there's nothing else I can do for you" & walked out. I can not fathom ever being in his position & treating a concerned patient the way he treated me. If my face is stuck like this forever, that's totally fine - I will live. All I was looking for in that moment was validation that the side effects have indeed altered my appearance & comfort that it will get better without needing to seek consult from a freaking plastic surgeon. His nurse assistant was kind enough to hand me a tissue before walking me out with no acknowledgment of what just happened. 100% will never go back here & will absolutely warn everyone I know to never see him. It's sad his staff at the front desk have to be associated with him and his lack of empathy & professionalism because they are actually kind people. read more

Unfortunately I did NOT have a good experience with the billing portion of Southeastern Endodontics. Did have a great experience 4/22/2020 with Doctor Mathew Brock, he told me I did NOT need a root canal when I had been referred by another dentist as possibly needing one. Billing was a different story. Before I left, since I did NOT have a root canal, I asked if I would just be billed for an office visit they assured me yes. They instead billed me for having a root canal (even though I had been there just a few minutes) the insurance paid them for the root canal, they had to reimburse the insurance, and then I was billed $97 because they said my insurance had said I had already had my 2 visits for the year, when I had 0. So many phone calls to them and the insurance, and lots of time, stress and hassle, this is still not taken care of, over a year later -all because someone was too anxious to bill for a non-existent root canal. I would NOT recommend this office since they apparently have no billing staff, if you ask for billing they will say, "What can I help you with?", and it will likely be hit and miss as to whether or not you get someone who bills you correctly. read more

I had a very pleasant root canal here. I realize that not everyone has that experience, but in this case it was true. I came in expecting to wait, but my insurance was promptly verified. I was taken back and had a moment to chat with Dr. Brock after an x-ray was taken. He explaining the process and every step along the way. The staff is Good, very nice office. Dr. Matthew Brock is a different story. He informed me my tooth was split down the middle and would need to be pulled. But he could try to save it but wasn't willing to guarantee me the Root Canal would even take. Then tells me Good News! I can do the root canal right now. Um excuse me you just told me the tooth will eventually have to be pulled??? So you're going to charge me $1,183.00 and tell me there's no guarantee and my tooth can't be saved. He gave me all of 3 mins to think it over. And let's not forget about the crown to follow of $1250! He acted like I was inconveniencing him and he had better things to do. HE HAS ZERO COMPASSION FOR HIS PATIENTS! ! He was extremely rude to me when I told him I needed more time to think it over. Needless to say I didn't have the root canal and had the tooth pulled last night. Dr. Brock has the personality of a bucket of hair. I would never recommend him to anyone. As a combat veteran the VA subcontracts root canal procedures to this office. I seen Dr. Burns and she intentionally and repeatedly struck every nerve she could find in my gum while applying anesthetic. She stated that she wanted to ensure that the medicine was working. This was extremely uncomfortable and she and her assistant thought it was humorous. In 45 years of seeing a dentist and having extractions and such, this as by far the most painful experience I had every had and I told them both. IF this practice has animosity against military veterans, perhaps they should no longer contract with the VA. I strongly agree with that sentiment. read more
