I had a consultation for a painful, possibly cracked molar. Mr. Brock was rushed, rude, and dismissive of my ongoing, recurring tooth pain. He took X-rays, did an exam, and basically told me it was all in my imagination because he could find no crack in my tooth. After paying Dr. Brock's expensive exam fees, I saw other endodontists, I had to have a root canal, crown, and eventually an extraction/implant. The implant failed and multiple additional repeated implant surgery from an implant specialist left me with permanent nerve issues. Although I have no expert proof that an earlier diagnosis would have saved my tooth, I suspect that it might have. Regardless, all I received here was poor beside manner, no diagnosis, and dismissive treatment. Will never return to help them pay for their expensive office space. read more

This was the easiest dental experience I think I've ever had. The root canal was surprisingly quick and Dr. Brock was so nice and calm throughout the entire procedure and he explained what he was doing and why and he kept telling me I was doing a good job and how much longer it would take. I felt absolutely nothing after I was numb and I just laid there in peace the entire time. I left feeling so happy and relieved that he worked on my tooth. Saw Matthew Brock for root canal. It was the worst experience I have ever had in a dentist office. He didnt let my gums deaden enough before he stuck the needles in my gums. I told him I was very uncomfortable at one point the things they had in my mouth was so big I was gaging and told him I felt very sick and needed to stop. He said well what do you want me to do. I said I wanted to stop the procedure. He never said what can we do to make you more comfortable or what can we do to help up to get thru the procedure. He was actually kinda rude. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed. The staff was great and personable. Dr. Brock was very calming and talked through the whole procedure before he started and throughout the root canal. He was very accommodating to me needing to be suctioned several times. He encouraged me throughout the procedure, telling me I was doing well, giving estimations of time left, etc. He was very knowledgeable and I felt confident in him and his abilities. read more

I went to see Dr Brock on Jan 4, 2024 for a consultation. It was for two teeth to have root canal surgery. In his explanation and my expressed concerns, he spoke to me in a very condescending manner. When he asked if I wanted him to proceed, I said "yes" and "no". I was concerned about the pain. His response was "I don't know what to do with that answer." He showed no concern for my fear of pain. I had the procedure done on Thurs. Jan 25, 2024. Friday I called because I was in lots of pain. He said it was important to follow the pain protocol they had laid out. He never suggested t hat the infection might still be in the gun area. Friday, late evening, I called Dr Brock's office. There was a message that if there was an emergency to leave a message and someone would call me back. I called two times that evening. No one called back. I even called the Pharmacy for help but he said there wasn't anything he could do and to call t he doctor's emergency number. I was unable to sleep all night. By Sunday morning I was in so much pain that I went to Urgent Care. I called Dr Brock's office while in the exam room. No reply. They prescribed amoxicillin for the infection and pain meds. No relief by the evening. I went to the Emergency Room. More pain meds. Monday morning I went to see Dr Brock. I told him no one had answered the emergency number. He did seem to care. He wasn't monitoring it. He gave me a different antibiotic. Adjusted pain meds slightly and sent me home. He did not seem to care that I was in so much pain for the whole weekend and that no one from his office responded to my calls for help. March 12, 2024 I contacted Darla, Dr Brock's office manager so speak to her about this lack of care and the additional expenses I incurred because of this. She spoke to Dr Brock and he said he wouldn't do anything about these expenses. He had done all his procedures correctly. He has a terrible bedside manner and poor communication skills when dealing with a person's concerns and questions. His office breakdown in regards to lack of emergency monitoring in the evening and weekend IS his responsibility. I feel he should come up in front of the review board and answer to the harm he has caused. read more

Dr. Brock was amazing. I was in the office for a total of 45 minutes from examination to root canal complete. He was so gentle and kind. He spoke in a soothing voice while explaining each step along the way. His nurse was also very caring and helpful. read more

I was referred to Dr. Brock by my Dentist after he placed a crown on a broken molar which led to extreme cold sensitivity and pain. I knew that I would need a root canal, as I had had a couple before. However, I had never met Dr. Brock, but did read his patient reviews on this site. Being a physician myself, I realize that not all patients are happy with the service they receive, as I have experienced this myself. However, I found Dr. Brock to be both professional and engaging. He was friendly and explained the procedure to me both before and while in progress. I had instant pain relief, for which I am most grateful! His staff was warm and welcoming, and made me comfortable in what might've been a very stressful situation, and my wait to be seen was brief. I would highly recommend this fine and extremely competent practitioner and his most professional staff without reservation. read more

Wow...so it wasn't just me! All the other reviews have mirrored my experience. Very skilled & competent...Check. Got the job done w/lots of good info. Everything started out fine. He did a great job with the anesthetic...no repeat application needed. Things went downhill after that. The following happened in rapid succession: He placed a bite block and a dental dam in my mouth (which I'd never had before, and my mouth is very small), leaned me ALL the way back and casually mentioned "Oh...and you may not be able to swallow." Well, I have apnea, and felt very uneasy about being unable to swallow. Worried that I would not be able to breathe. It was a panic reaction. I tried to sit up and explain all of this through the stuff that was crammed in my mouth. Dr. Brock asked me if I wanted suction, and when I did not respond immediately, he repeated the question in a loud voice..."DO. YOU. NEED. SUCTION?" He also asked me condescendingly if I wanted to reschedule so they could prep me with Valium or Halcion. I declined and let him continue but did not relax for a moment, which is not my usual experience in a dentist's chair. He did explain that 1- I would be able to breathe through my nose (and I was, but it required a lot of concentration and thank goodness I wasn't experiencing nasal or sinus congestion that day!). 2-I should not try to sit up lest I hit my head on tray or light, and because there were sharp instruments in my mouth. All of this was logical and factual. But he could have addressed these things ahead of time. I think he concentrates so hard on the work he's doing that he can't deal with unexpected events in the middle of a job, such as a panicky patient. He needs to figure out how to balance these aspects. He was perfectly nice and civilized before and after, and he did good work in terms of the root canal, but his chair-side manner needs a LOT of improvement! read more

My wife is pregnant and had to go in for a root canal. Before the procedure even started she asked to be let up from the chair and left. What seemed like simple requests were met with disdain and a condescending attitude. We did not get far enough to have any real work preformed so I cannot speak on that and we were not charged. He is not polite and doesn't seem to care about his patients. He made a pregnant woman cry.... Well done jerk. read more

This "dentist" was the most horrible one I've ever been to. It was truly a traumatizing experience. Only after I visited my family doctor did I find out what happened to me. The first anesthetic injection was given in the blood stream which caused the epi portion to go directly to my heart, which made me feel like my heart was pounding out of my chest and an anxious feeling I've never felt before. The Dr. should have known it could have been a side effect instead of blaming my (nonexistent) "anxiety" on why I did not feel right. He was condescending, so sappy, sarcastically sweet that it was obviously fake but did nothing to take responsibility for how I was feeling. HORRIBLE. read more
