I have visited Fantastic Sams in Lumberton several times, and while I did have one positive…read moreexperience, the majority of my visits left me disappointed. I would like to recognize Rachel, who did an excellent job cutting my hair and was pleasant and professional to interact with. She is the reason I can say there was at least one bright spot in my experiences there. Unfortunately, the customer service at this location leaves much to be desired. It is rare to be greeted when walking into the salon, and many of the employees give the impression that they do not want to be there. As a customer, that makes for an unwelcoming atmosphere. I have always been a generous customer and routinely left a tip of at least 30% after my haircuts. However, my last visit convinced me that I would not be returning. I arrived shortly after opening one morning. There were only two customers ahead of me. After one stylist finished with her customer and cleaned up her station, I assumed I would be next. Instead, she went to the back and did not return. When I asked how long it would be before I could get a haircut, I was told there were only two people working and they did not know how long it would be. At that point there were very few customers in the salon, and no one seemed interested in helping me or giving me a reasonable estimate. I decided to leave and get my haircut elsewhere. Truthfully, even before this final experience I had been considering finding another salon. This encounter simply confirmed that decision. I hope management takes customer service more seriously in the future, because good service and communication are just as important as a good haircut.
