I've been through a bunch of times and have never seen any out of service. You can pop in and out off the 400 without actually going all the way into parry sound. We continued on around the store and it remained just as crisp. My experience tells me that the store didn't come to look this neat by one good nights work and a few dedicated employee's. Mortimer's Marine Ltd. -- known more affectionately as Mortimer's Point -- is one of my favorite…read moremarinas on the Lakes because of the following: 1) They sell bulk candy, all of it gummy. I absolutely cannot resist gummy candy, especially if you make it sour and coat it in sugar. Pick up a brown paper bag (reminiscent of school lunches all those many years ago), a pair of miniature tongs, and go to town. Keep track of the number you put in your sack (they're $0.05 apiece), tell the cashier and pay, and you're on your way to a candy coma. 2) There's an old-fashioned Esso sign hanging out in the middle of the Lake, letting you know Mortimer's point is up around the bend. I *love* this Esso sign, all by its lonesome in the middle of the water. I think I have more pictures of *it* than of the family up there. 3) MP doubles as an "airport." Meaning, this is where the rich folk from Toronto (who aren't rich enough to have a seaplane garage at their cottage) land and store their seaplanes. So there's always several moored at Mortimer's. We like to eyeball them whenever we're gassing up the boat. The novelty of a seaplane really never wears off... 4) There never seem to be any adults around. It's like this place is run entirely by children and teens. It gives you an oddly exciting, "Children of the Corn" adrenaline rush. And when you push off the dock to leave, you kind of feel a sense of relief that you didn't fall victim to He Who Walks Behind the Rows.

And we took pictures in front of it, the teeniest Whole Foods in the world, to send to our friends who are used to the gigantic real Whole Foods Market chain. (Just to be clear, this place is not related to the chain,) Then one of us want to take a look inside, and we thought, why not. This place is small, but crams an amazing variety. It's like a Whole Foods shrunk in size (like, into its cafe area) but not in variety. There are many brands and products Wholefoodies will recognize, like Quorn chicken, Bragg's apple cider vinegar, Annie's mac and cheese, Kashi cereal, and more. And some that even the real WFM stores don't always carry: a barrel of local honey, herbs and tea in bulk jars. They have a few cheeses (no big cheese case here), and a freezer of bread, meat, vegan meat and other stuff. Naturally they don't have as many choices of brands, but I can't think of much that they don't carry. So if you happen to be in this neighborhood and somehow miss your WFM, make a stop here!
