I used to order clothes from this boutique years ago and absolutely loved every piece I got. Recently ordered a skirt and pair of boots from them. The skirts material feels like something ordered from shein and the zipper kept snagging every time I tried to zip it up even though it too large. The boots were just meh, but my calves are very large and they felt way too tight. Started a return over a week ago (they only do store credit now) and it has to be approved by staff, IT STILL HAS NOT BEEN APPROVED Costumer service has gone to hell immensely and quality of clothing has 100% gone down. I ordered a dress from them a long time ago for a gala. The dress arrived and it was cheap and looked horrible. I sent it back, and was unable to get any information from them on when I would get my money back for returning the dress. DON'T SHOP HERE, WHATEVER YOU DO. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I placed an order in October of 2021, and now it is February 2022. Off and on I have spoken to someone and have told them to keep me updated on a refund, and they have failed to do so EVERY. TIME. By mistake, I had wrote down the wrong address, and the delivery service notified me about the dress I ordered, and how it was being sent back to Southern Alternative. I have spoken with them SEVERAL TIMES now and still have not received any money or updates yet. They claimed USPS denied the claim they made and planned on making another one. What an adorable shop! The blow-up unicorn and rainbow pool floats in the main window shopfront caught our eye but when we got inside there were about a million other things for us to roam around and look at. We thought we'd spend like 5 minutes inside and ended up spending over a half an hour! We talked to some really nice customers who were on a road trip from Michigan in the area and also talked to the shop owner who was very friendly and welcoming. They have candles, mugs, glasses, cards, perfume, soaps, pool floats, clothes, shoes, and a ton of other odds and ends. I really liked this store - if you are shopping for yourself, some decor, or gifts for friends, you are probably going to be able to find something in here. read more

They don't deserve one star. I get that it's during the holiday so USPS is having some delays... but I have been reading reviews and it turns out it's not only the holidays. I ordered on the 15th and still haven't received it. I have received packages from California already that had shipped out later than when I ordered from southern alternative. I have been keeping up and looking at the shop app, my package passed me two or three times already. I called the phone number and asked the lady what they would do if I don't get my package, all she said was that a lot of people have been experiencing delays and that eventually I will get it. I don't think they'll reship what you've ordered even if your package is lost, I asked her and she didn't answer me. I contacted my bank and they said that it's fraud. Purchased a pair of slippers from their online boutique. They were about the same quality as the free pedicure slippers they give you at a nail salon. Reached out to the company and they offered for me to send them back and receive only a store credit. Do not want anything from this store besides my $24 back for these horrendous slippers. Where do I start. They have the most ridiculous sizing and the clothes look great on picture but in reality it is very different and definitely not in a good way. They have a shady return policy and they don't give you a refund no matter what. They will only provide store credit which means you will end up buying more and more ill-sized clothes. Never purchase from this brand online. They are very overpriced for the quality of clothes and the sizing is a nightmare. Literally so amazing! My mom and I drove 2 1/2 hours in order to look for a prom dress here. Since these ladies are in a new location, they didn't have any of the formal dresses in store. They were kind enough to go to the warehouse and get the dresses for me to try on! They also were super helpful and helped me choose between two dresses, and I am super confident in the dress I picked. I will be making the long drive more frequently! I want to preface this with I never wrote bad reviews it takes a lot for me to be upset but I felt so strongly about their terrible customer service. This company is a complete scam. I was so excited about this company that I spent almost $500 in clothes in two weeks. I received three outfits in my first order, unfortunately one of the top bottom sets did not fit me. I tried it on for a few minutes and knew right away it didn't work for my body style. I nicely packed it back up in the original packing and paid $15 to send the package back for a store credit. I was left completely shocked when I received an email that I in fact would not receive a store credit because they said it had been worn. I wrote back so sad and disappointed because all I had honestly done was try to product on and ship it back immediately. There is no way there is anything wrong with the clothes I sent back. How am I supposed to know if it fits me without trying it on? even after my response email they refused to take a second look and said my only options were they could throw it away or I could pay to have it shipped back to me. Ordered a dress in size M, and it ran very small. I asked customer service about sizing prior to ordering, and it took them 2 days to respond and by then sizes were selling out. The only sizing advice they gave me was "I'd order whichever size that you normally wear in dresses". The medium didn't fit, and the quality felt very frail. They only offer a store credit instead of a full refund, and they deduct $4 from your store credit in order to get the free return shipping label. read more

Do yourself a favor, and spend your money elsewhere. The customer service is horrible, and the manager needs to find a different job. I ordered clothing, and received a confirmation email saying that order would arrive in 2-5 business day's. I left the shipping as normal and did not pay for the overnight, because I figured I would have my order on time. WRONG. I had a hunch that this would not be the case, so I called the store to confirm if it had been shipped yet (I ordered last Saturday, and called this Wednesday). I was told by an associated that it had not even been packaged, and actually the processing time was 4-7 business day's... that if I wanted to rush the order I could pay extra ,after it was placed and have my clothes overnighted. She placed me on hold and I spoke with a manger (this is where it all goes to hell). The manager told me that it was posted on the website that orders would MAYBE take longer to be shipped out due to the holiday season. This was no where posted on the website. When I told her what the confirmation emailed had said, I got the reply of "Thats not a confirmation, it's just showing that we've received your order". Well what does a confirmation mean then?? I asked why wasn't the email confirmation updated to show the actual shipping time and she responded "It's only temporary, and doesn't need to be posted in the email if it's on the website" I lastly asked if I could just go ahead and pay for the overnight shipping, and was told at first "You can pay for it, but it won't cause your order to be processed any faster. The more money you spend in shipping just puts you higher on the list" and then lastly, "The overnight is on the post offices time schedule, not mine. So no, it will likely still not be on time". After a good argument with the manager, she said that she would just cancel and refund. Well, I just received an email saying that my order was shipped, so that'll be another fight I'm sure. These clothes weren't meant to be taken in my fiancé's and I's first Christmas photos together. I had to scramble around yesterday to piece something together. This place is a headache, and poorly ran. Business is black and white, and you either say you're going to do something and deliver, or back down if you can't. UPDATE: this is what I received hours after emailing them. Again, the manager said she was cancelling my order while were on the phone. 24 hours later, I get this. Apparently they're "unable" to cancel an order that had not even been packaged or shipped yet. read more

I would give this place 0 stars if it was a choice. I received my package September 26 and to my surprise they sent me the wrong top. I emailed them the day I got my package and still no response. Almost 3 weeks no response. I did a online return which took 2 weeks to get approved. I called multiple times and no one picked up. I drive 2 hours to return everything in person and we'll they are closed from remodeling. I looked at Facebook, instagram and their website and didn't see anything about them being closed. Well the item i preordered arrived with one of the clips broken so your whole chest is out and you can't wear it. I ordered 2 dresses from this company. One was on preorder that was said to ship late november but it didnt ship until about dec 10th so it was late. The first one shipped fast. So shipping is okay.... For quality Id have to give that a big fat 0. Dresses cost about 60 bucks but honestly probably should go for about 20. I wasnt looking for much out of a 60 dollar dress but these things were awful! Completely transparent, detailing was AWFUL and is just a complete waste of money. I did my order wrong and DM then on IG to cancel it, minutes after I did it. They responded saying I needed to email customer service, so I did and they respond 3 days later saying my items have shipped and there is nothing they can do. I am doing a cancellation through my bank. This is a horrible company with no customer service. Got my items and didn't even open the box, because I didn't know what would happen through my bank. Southern alternative emails me today demanding their items back or they will send me to COLLECTIONS, I open the box and of course there is no return form or shipping label, because they don't want people to actually return things and they don't issue refunds. So I went to ups and paid $25 so I don't have to deal with this awful company ever again. UPS took care of it in 5 mins and were shocked that this company didn't send me a return label or anything in the box. This is the worst customer service I have ever received. They used to be named love and war and they had to rename the company because of so many complaints. They are flagged on the BBB website, so that's pretty telling. Hands down amazing custom style! They go above and beyond to make sure your experience is tailored to you (just tell them what the occasion is and let them style away!). I wore a dress that was not the best for my body and Lexi used tact to ensure me we could find something better that would make me feel like 1million bucks. (Tastefully restyling someone takes confidence and discretion as to not make the client feel uncomfortable in their own skin.. she nailed it). I have messaged the owner Sam about photo shoots and the theme I was going for (off Pinterest or style ideas from the photographer) when I showed up they had a special area holding all the items they styled for me in my sizes! Since then, all I've gotten back are a bunch of emails giving me the run-around with stupid emojis and promises to get back to me the following day. I've had to consistently follow up because no one EVER got back to me. Every time I followed up, it was just "so sorry for the delay. i'm so sad this is happening. I've been following this store on instagram for months, and finally I visited some family and drove down just to shop here. The store is large but 80% of their clothes are blocked off. The girls weren't helpful whatsoever and after a few failed attempts to find something that actually fit one girl offered a dress in the back. Almost all the medium and larges were sold out so I couldn't try anything on to order it online. I was really ready to spend some money here but left with nothing after feeling super defeated and like I was a bother to them more than anything. The girls did say hello walking in and asked if we needed anything, but anything past that it was some of the poorest customer service and they didn't seem to care whether I bought something or not. I received 4 out of 14 items & through investing with Katie, we were able to determine that a worker for UPS ripped open my package & helped themselves to the items they wanted & shipped me the rest! Katie was super helpful & diligent with her follow up emails & communication! This helped me so much as my anxiety was out of control since there was a large amount of money involved with the number of items that were stolen. She filed the claim with UPS right away & when UPS couldn't provide any feedback, she pulled the items that were available & offered replacement items for the ones that were no longer in stock! I follow this shop on ig and they have really cute clothes...I visited the store once before and purchased about five things....so, again, i drove from southern pines to hit up a couple of places before having to get back to pick little ones up from school, so my time was limited...I went as soon as they opened...I had a pot of coffee on the drive and needed to use the restroom....literally no one else was in the shop, but I was told I could not use theirs....I am an adult woman getting ready to spend money on things I saw online, and they said I could go next door to the restaurant...a place where I wasn't going to spend a dime...but then they said they weren't open yet....the open sign was not on at the restaurant...I didn't have time to drive around town and search for a restroom and go back to try stuff on, etc, so I moved on to my next destination.
