Ordered a simple birthday cake. It wasn't fully covered with icing and therefore it was dry. Nobody liked it nobody ate it. Wasted 185.00

Steer clear of this clip joint…read more How about 30% fee on top of your bill for service, but they don't tell you about until after the meal? It's mandatory. Real French like Pepe Le Pew. About as French a french fries and gravy on top in Montreal. Way more toothless Montreal than Paris. Typical restaurant, 30% cost of goods sold, but and also a 30% fee for delivering the food to your table... The owner's probably keep a big chunk of that. So you're paying the labor costs without any notice on the menu, and maybe the electric bill. Complete clip joint with mediocre food and a mini strip mall. French people would not be caught dumb here. You got kids? Find a bole or a first watch or a whole foods and get what you actually pay for. Not $30 for table service on top of $100 bill for soup and a real French panini. Weeeeeeeee monsewer.

This cute French bistro reminds me of the bistros I enjoyed in Paris…read more The Ambiance: Cute "very French" styled bistro with limited table availability with 7 tables two high tops and 8 bar stools inside and 3 outside tables. If you want to know how the French dine, this is the place for you. The Food: This where the bistro shines. I chose the Les OCufs Gratings which featured baked eggs with soft center, a touch of cream & melted Swiss cheese. I added the ham and spinach optional. The dish was accompanied with a toasted baguette. It was a fantastic dining experience!! In addition to my entree I also tried their raisin roll which was a wonderfully light and crispy pastry that represents French pastries beautifully. One negative, I ordered a black tea (only offered Earl Grey) and steamed milk (got hot milk). You would think a place that offers cappuccinos and lattes could be able to provide steamed milk but, obviously not here. However, I must admit, although I don't like Earl Grey tea, this version was actually ok. Service: Where the ambiance and food scores 5 stars, the service drags it all down to a 3 star experience. My server deserted me after I placed my order. Asking for more hot water (for my tea), another honey packet or anything else required me getting up and searching for "anyone" to assist. The Bottom Line: As always, my "customer so what"... would I come back: Most likely, because the food and atmosphere were exceptional, I'd more than likely put up with the service. If you don't mind paying the price of being ignored to "eventually" enjoy a fantastic meal, you'll like this bistro.

We saw meatloaf, chicken piccata, lasagna, ribs, I mean I can go on and on. They also have a market to buy other goods. My one complaint is the staff. The guy who made our sandwiches was so polite, but he was the only one. The hot case is right next to the pizza, so you would think if the lady asked for some meatballs he would take care of it, especially since the deli line was so long. The guy in the pizza station had no customers, but still told the lady she had to wait and ask the deli for the THREE meatballs she wanted. Checking out was the same. Just rude, no acknowledgment. Will I still come if in the area, probably but I'll give them the same energy they give their customers!

So the dirty water gun was soaking in water that he was about to pour into people's glasses. I almost threw up. Then....we witnessed him drop the water jug into the ice - the same ice that servers were using to make drinks. Who knows where the bottom of the water jug has been as I'm sure he has put it down a time or two on bar tops, table tops, etc. And now, it's sitting in the ice. Gross. Lastly, there had to be 100 flies all over the outside bar. Regular flies and also fruit flies. I hate to leave this negative review but am doing so in the hopes that they clean up, because we really love Carmines.

I didn't realize that Alaina's was a sit-down establishment that just so happened to have a refrigerated glass display of sweet treats, baked goods, and cakes to enjoy on-site or to go. Its aesthetic was a lot classier than I anticipated. I thought it would be more of a diner-type environment, but instead it's much more visually appealing as a dining area with both table and booth seating, serving high-end booze and solid cuisine. I ordered their two-egg sandwich with bacon and fruit, which allowed me to live my best life. It was delicious. Their bacon in particular was magical. The iced coffee black helped me wash it down. Price-wise, it was reasonable. I would need to come back for happy hour and discovered they have dinner as well -- originally thought it was only open through lunch hour. It comes off as much more upscale, especially once you enter the interior. I was impressed by Bruichladdich scotch selections on their liquor shelves, as well as their lovely Belgian beers in stock in the bottom-level fridge and on tap. They have brunch-themed cocktails to enjoy. I'll have to return with the missuses to enjoy more, as I was impressed by what I saw. But I need to try dinner there to confirm my speculation.

Unfortunately, after my experience today, I do not plan to return. When I arrived, there were three employees at the front, and I was completely ignored. When a fourth employee finally came to help me, her attitude was unfriendly and dismissive. I ordered two guava pastries. There were pastries on two different shelves, and I politely asked if I could have mine from the lower shelf because they looked more toasted, which is simply how I prefer them. She looked at me with an unpleasant expression and replied, "They are both the same." She then ignored my request and gave me the pastries from the upper shelf anyway. It was such a simple request, and the way it was handled made me feel like I was inconveniencing her just by asking. At that point, I just wanted to leave. I have also noticed that this location has become increasingly dirty and poorly maintained. The service feels disorganized as well. Customers' names are not taken with orders, and receipts do not clearly identify what was purchased; they simply show numbers. I am writing this because I used to enjoy coming here. Good pastries are not enough if customers are made to feel unwelcome. Cleanliness, organization, and respectful customer service matter. I sincerely hope the owner looks into what is happening at the Northlake location. It is disappointing to see a business I used to enjoy decline to this level. Thank you
