Common sense it scratched the leather....he did it so quickly that I didn't really have time to stop him. Almost like he had a thought of "maybe this will work", and impulsively did it. These are now permanent cuts along the top of the shoe, that weren't there previously. Didn't charge me anything but ruined a pair of $140 shoes physically when I just wanted to see if I could get the color to match. Very odd interaction. Awkward pause after he scratched them up. Then did not offer to even try to buff them out or oil them after obvious scratches he'd created...I didn't ask for restitution at the time because I thought I'd be kind and go home and try to buff them out myself since he didn't charge me. Follow up on my part: tried to darken the lighter shoe to match the darker as originally planned. Even though I had succeeded in that, the streaks he had created persist through leather. 2 month old shoes were ruined in the two minutes he handled them. Perfer to support small businesses always. I have NEVER EVER taken time to leave a negative review on a locally owned business, but this was just THAT bad of an experience. Maybe just a bad mishap, but I personally can't recommend. I urge others to agree on what methods he will use before you give him possession of your items. He made an ammeter common sense mistake.
