Great Selection & Always Great Customer Service My fiancé and I were looking for a place to rent suits for the groomsmen for our wedding in April but after going to a couple of bigger name brand stores we were not at all impressed with the selection, prices, or service that we received and were getting kind of frustrated driving around looking.... I was in a wedding party last weekend so the tuxedo rental place was chosen for me. They take walk-ins for the measurements which is nice and the whole process took about 10 minutes (another groomsman came with me) for both of us. The pickup and return window was kind of inconvenient. The wedding was on a Saturday afternoon and we were not able to pick up our Tuxes until the Thursday before at 4pm or all day on Friday. I work weird hours and was not able to go either Thursday or Friday, so one of the other groomsmen picked mine up for me and I took the risk that something wouldn't be right. It fit perfectly though and looked really great. The drop off was the following Monday, which I was working all day again, but I was able to have someone drop it off. A wider/more flexible pick and return process would make this a 5-star experience. read more

I NEVER write reviews but I had to write one for Southern Formals. Please don't go! Please don't trust this store. Best weekend of my life watching my son get married, but days later I'm writing this negative review. Let this illustrate how upsetting this experience was. Beware. Story: I went with my son to rent a tuxedo for his wedding. It was not cheap! Shy of $300! When we came to pick up the tuxedo it was a complete and utter disaster. The tuxedo didn't fit. It was a disaster. The pants were short, the sleeves on shirt were long, the jacket was just off, and the overall look was shabby! The man working there (maybe the owner) didn't give a crap. He looked annoyed that we wanted the tuxedo to fit properly. I mean this was my sons wedding!!!!!!!! The guy didn't give a crap and just looked annoyed. I actually had to walk the man through (step by step) what he needed to fix. It was as if I was on the show punked. Like at some point someone was going to jump out and say... "I'm kidding". Unfortunately, it wasn't a joke. I also couldn't just walk away because he charged us in full the week prior at the fitting. We were locked in plus the wedding was days away. I don't think my experience was the norm you should expect to receive with Southern Formals, but I feel obliged to share. We first visited Southern Formals in December of last year for my best friend's tux fitting for his wedding which was this past weekend. When we arrived to the shop, we were greeted kindly by a man who began to take our measurements. When the bride showed up, she was shown a few different styles to chose from in which we were ultimately up-sold to a newer, slim fit model. Each member of the groomsmen party put down a deposit to secure our tuxedo for my best friend's big day. When we showed up this past Friday for the final fitting and to pick up the tux, we thought this would be a quick & easy process since our measurements were taken months ago and the tuxes were already in the bags and everything appeared ready to go. I guess it's prom season for the local high schools so the shop's 2 dressing rooms were being occupied. We had no problem waiting for the dressing rooms because we know it's a small shop, but i think the prom season may have also impacted the inventory of tuxedos that the shop had to offer us. When it was finally my time to try on the tux, I thought I was handled the wrong bag. None of the pieces fit. It looked like I was a young adolescent playing dress up and wearing my father's tuxedo. The jacket was 2 sizes too large, the pants baggy, and the shirt was made for someone 2-3 times my size. I understand that rentals cannot be completely tailored to each individual person, but the sizes we were originally provided were not even close to being the right size. The employees were extremely accommodating in trying to find us new shirts and jackets that would fit, but I just don't understand why the sizing for all of us were so far off. Also, some of the tuxes appeared to be worn and some of them were dirty. It didn't look anything like the brand new tux that the bride was shown that we were ultimately up-sold to on the original fitting day. My friend's jacket had a large white stain on his back which he was extremely embarrassed about all day. The shop offered to exchange the jacket but being that pictures were starting shortly it was not an option to leave. A few of the guys' collars were still so large that the bow-ties kept falling forward all day. Personally, for my tuxedo, the button on my jacket was about to come off so by the end of pictures I wasn't even able to close my jacket. Again, I don't think our experience was the norm of what you should expect at Southern Formals, however I was not happy with what I paid for and what I received. They were extremely knowledgeable, very patient with our requests and everyone looked amazing at the wedding.
