One thing about Southern Fried Chics is the quality usually is really good. It does take a long time to get their product and sometimes I forget I even ordered it by the time I get it. But we have to remember that it is a small company and it's only on the pre-order stuff I have noticed the price has increased quite a bit as I have been buying from them for many years now, but I never ever am disappointed in something that I buy unless it's too big or too small because it's really a pain to return items when you're buying off the Internet and I don't mean with just Southern Fried Chics I mean everywhere I don't want to do any returns. This place and their "customer service" team is atrocious and a joke! I originally ordered a dress this last spring, got it, was WAY too small, so I returned the dress expecting a refund. Nope! I got a gift card or store credit. So, I used the gift card SFC sent to me and ordered some jewelry and t-shirts, no big deal, right? Haha, wrong!! I received most of my order, except one shirt, in which I still have not received, that I ordered this summer! I have gone in literal circles with customer service. They lost my order, tried to tell me that it was sold out, but I placed my order literally the minute they posted about it. I placed an order on May 12th 2024 - just a simple t-shirt. Not a pre-order. Almost 50 days later, I have yet to receive my order or a refund. I have reached out so many times I've lost count. They do not answer emails or phones. They delete your comments on Facebook. They won't respond in messenger or Instagram. I got bamboozled!!! Terrible company. I ordered an expensive dress/romper from them originally. It came with defects- one being a ball of bunched up fabric around the croch area. I emailed them and had to pay to ship it back. I wanted a refund, and they would not honor it, even though their item was full of material defects and very poor quality. They will only do credits, even if it is their fault. I'm a botique shopper and don't mind paying extra, for quality... the quality of this is no botique quality... it is the worst quality of clothing I have ever seen, with the price of botique. So, all I was able to get was a credit. I recently used this credit and had to pay shipping again to get some more items. The box came today, and it has a very terrible, strong, chemical odor smell. It's so awful, I'm going to have to throw the items out (2 being overpriced cups/tumblers- which were 40$ each, and the quality of a 10$ tumbler, at best). Buyer beware! If I could give them zero stars I would. Their business model is terrible as well as the quality of their products. The quality is dollar store/ swap meet level but yet charge high end boutique prices not to mention it took a month to receive my items. I ordered 4 items from them, car coasters ($13 sale price, not sure on original), Aztec denim jacket (original price $85, sale price $26.95), rhinestone fringe booties (original $90, sale price $19.95), and royal sequin duster (original $125, sale price $39.95). The coasters are alright but the image is kinda blurry but definitely wouldn't want to return them. The Aztec jacket is paper thin and looks stretched out even thou it's brand new. I probably won't wash it for fear that it will shred. I didn't plan on returning this item. Now I receive the boots and duster..... the black fringe bootie has a thin sole and when you walk you can feel the floor and as I walk the zipper slides down on the left boot. Not to mention the ankle is the size of a child. For the sequin duster, as I pulled it out of the bag sequins went everywhere along with grass type debris and there is a 3 inch hole at the seam on the left hand side. I attempted to return the boots and duster but was denied because I got them on sale. If you purchase anything with a .95 at the end it is FINAL SALE. I read reviews while waiting for their response and it seems that they put their damaged items on sale so the customer is stuck with the items and they get rid of the damaged inventory. I absolutely love the clothing on here, but the customer service sucks!! I was super excited when I got a gift certificate for my birthday this past December (2019). I tried using the gift certificate to get two dresses for my Bachelorette party in March, but my gift certificate code won't work for some reason. I've tried numerous variations (because the code wasn't written clearly) and nothing. I sent two emails, I've called numerous times, and left voicemails. Hang on ya'll because this review may leave a tear in your eye. Backstory- My fiancé' and I have been together for going on 10 years. We were engaged July 4th 2019, with original plans of getting married in May in NY but due to COVID made the decision to plan an elopement September 6th in Kauai, but as most can assume COVID has had other plans. Due to the current situation with COVID as well as the work most of our family does unfortunately our family and the majority of our friends will not be able to attend our Vegas elopement. Now I am on a mission to find a dress that is budget friendly yet perfect as my fiance' was just laid off from his teaching job as the charter school he worked at needed to downsize due to COVID and currently none in the area are hiring at this time. I begin my mission but soon am becoming discouraged and overwhelmed as nothing was in budget or what I envisioned. Cue Facebook algorithm getting it right-one morning I am scrolling through facebook and what appears before my eyes but the most absolutely perfect dress I have ever seen in my entire life. This dress is ME if I were a dress! I see the ad- Golden Goddess Sequin Dress pre-order for end of September delivery. I email SFC and ask if the dress will ship on time as I am a little crazy and was worried. I get a response quickly assuring me it will be ready to ship by end of September. I'm in and the dress is ordered!! Now the rest of the planning can occur. In steps Mama Grubbs ( My mom) she's offered to make me a bridal cape as I did not want a veil. Mama said as my family will not be able to attend the wedding however that is their way of being with us on our wedding day. This is not just a cape, this is now my mother's love wrapped with the support of my family on our decision to elope. However, mama is having a hard time finding fabric to match that will not take months to ship. Once again a little sad by another bump in the road. Me determined not to give up; I call SFC with hopes of a miracle and the possibility of them sending me a swatch of fabric for my mama to take to the fabric stores to try to match. This is when the earth angel Lauren Smith answers the phone. Her southern charm and sweetness rang through the whole call as I explained my situation to her. She and I even cried a little together when I told her about the cape being my mom's way of being there on my wedding day. Lauren bound and determined now to help me placed me on a brief hold with the response of I'll see what I can do....... After a few minutes she is back on the phone and said that she found a damaged Golden Goddess Dress and is going to ask her manager if I can have it to use for my mama to make my cape! Cue me crying joyfully and telling Lauren how incredible she is! She said I have to work on a few things in regards to this Rachel but I promise you that we will help you. She let's me know she will be calling me back in a few days with an answer. Two days later I receive a call from the AMAZING Lauren! Her sweet southern voice tells me "We have a dress that we think would work perfectly for your mom to use to make your cape!" Cue me crying again and thanking Lauren and SFC for being so amazing. They let me purchase the dress for an extremely discounted rate and Lauren immediately set it up to ship to my mama while we were on the phone. This Y'all is the kind of goodness and joy we need more in the world right now. EVERYONE is struggling and effected by the current situations in our world however a little love and kindness can go a long way. Thank you SFC for helping me, more than you know, have my perfect wedding day. I am looking forward to receiving my wedding dress as well as the two other dresses I ordered, Stealing Cinderella for engagement photo's and the modern Marilyn for the night before the wedding. It was a sequin dress and as soon as I took it out of the package all the sequins started falling off. When I tried it on I literally left a trail of sequins behind me. This dress was over $100 so I was disappointed it was such poor quality. Not to mention my other dress at a similar price point wasn't included in my package. I reached out to customer support and heard nothing back. I reached out several times by phone and email over the course of a month or so and still haven't gotten a reply regarding my missing dress and the issue with the dress I did receive. A couple hundred dollars out and I can't imagine I'll be getting a resolution to this. I placed my order on 12/29/2020 for a pair of boots that they had on sale. I recieved the shipment pretty quickly, but when I went to try the boots on, I realized they sent me a size too small. I double checked my order and sure enough I ordered a size 9, and they sent me an 8. I sent an email to them stating the wrong item, Mikee replied explaining how to complete the exchange/return process online. I follow the prompts, only to be told that because of the amount of the discount, my item is a final sale, no exceptions. I explain to Mikee the response I got, which Mikee confirmed, was true, its not exchangeable. After venting my frustration that they sent me the wrong item, I deserve to have the item I ordered, Mikee then changed the story and said it would be resolved and I was going to be transferred to their shipping department to compete the exchange process. So, obviously they never read my original complaint. I have yet heard back from anyone. I have tried calling, emailing, Facebook messaged them, and used their instant message service on their website, zero response. I hate to be a "Karen," but I will never shop at this place again. I lost $60 and since researching learned that many had also lost money and items with no reconciliation from Southern Fried Chics. Anything over 25% off does not qualify for return or exchange. They're decent clothing if you don't pre-order items. Pre-ordering is a gamble and they do not notify you that they pushed back the date of arrival by months. That being said, they're pricey for fast fashion but run great sales. The customer service does respond when you ask them a question. Southern fried is more then just a clothing boutique, it's a bunch of friends you didn't know you had or needed. I'm part of the VIP posts and am always happy to see other women showing off their Southern fried. The clothes will speak for them selves and they arnt just marketed for that size 0. They are so affordable and beautiful just as the ladies marketing these items. The staff working for southern fried is SO friendly, it doesn't matter what you call for, whoever picks up that phone to answer you is always pleasant and willing to go out of the way to assist you. I have needed help with sizing and they will go to the warehouse to get the article to assist with questions. I don't watch all the live videos but LOVE when I can catch one live. They always brighten my day, fun, upbeat, giving away gifts, throwing in surprise codes! I can see how they have a lot of loyal customers. I can't stop sharing this boutique with everyone I know. I have never had to experience returning anything I've ordered so I can't tell you about the returns side. They are such an inspiration to women of all sizes everywhere.
