Name has changed to the lost traveler- We love coming to this park! We feel so lucky to have stumbled upon it last year and made sure to come back this year. I hate to leave such a great review, for fear of losing our spot, but I've already booked for next year! We will definitely be back and are even coming earlier. Yes there are chickens, but it just makes the environment more lively. Our children can play here and it's so nice where they are welcomed and loved. read more

I understand this park is under new management, but our experiences are recent with the new management that is wonderful! Just for the month we were there they were sprucing up the place. In the clubhouse they added a billiard table, air hockey, and foosball game. I saw a poker table and exercise equipment too! The pool was clean and working while we were there. The best part about this park is the price! I almost hate to leave such a good review in fear I won't be able to get in next year if too many people find out! Ha ha. One downside for some people is that it isn't right next to stores. Having grown up in the country, a ten minute drive for groceries is close to me and I love the dark night sky without all the light pollution. Some parks also say they are child friendly, but then won't let them ride their bikes or scooters. They loved our kids here. As long as your kids are respectful this is a great place to camp and enjoy Yuma. We will definitely be back! read more

We stayed at Southern Mesa for 3 winters before the pandemic. Had our trailer stolen from their storage area, (right next to the club house) just before the new owners took over. before the trailer was stolen I had called and changed our reservation to 2021 as we didn't go down last winter because of COVID. Called the new owner office to get our $50 deposit back and they only showed our reservation as pending with no payment! So, we lost another $50 on top of having our 2014 travel trailer stolen out from under their noses. We should have sued them but that's not us. Our insurance paid but the least they could have done was refund our reservation money! read more

They do not do refunds. A month before my reservation I became ill and was unable to travel. When I cancelled the reservation, I was informed their policy is no refunds. read more

I've only been here one night and a full day so far, but after checking out things I'm pleasantly surprised. I read that other review from 2015 by Theresa B. and I haven't seen any of the problems mentioned and will keep my eyes open for that sort of thing. Right now in Jan. 2018, even though the Wifi can be a problem, there are several access antennas and if you're really close to one, line of sight sort of thing, I've tested up to 8 Mbps download speeds. I know not ever RV'er can get a line of sight here in this large park, but it's possible for many. My site is #95 and it's problematic for a 35' Class A with two slides in several ways, ground unstable so my left side sinks, power post in the way so not much maneuvering room, can't back up as far as I wanted, but I will be allowed to move in a couple days to a better site. And the new site will have a direct line to one of the AP antennas. Not seeing any insects at all this January, and no smells are detected in my walks around the park. Best thing about the park is the lower cost then other parks in the area. $299/month is excellent. It is a drive into town for shopping but it's quiet here. Nice people in the office, got invited to a cookout too which I just returned from, got a nice slice of Chicken Pot Pie and some conversation with several residents. It's worth checking out yourself. read more

My husband & I stayed here for a few months, it was far from town, dusty and the bugs made it difficult to go out until dark. Our space had a water leak that we were not able to have fixed for some reason. This caused an influx of mosquitoes and bad stench. Chickens ran amuck, your cell phone wont work in the park that well, and extremely slow internet made it impossible to do anything online. People were nice with the exception of the office managers husband, who is maintenance man. He came over the day we were leaving and verbally assaulted my husband with no just cause, and then picked up a clenched fist to hit me when I went to intervene. Pass on this one, go to the river where you at least have fresh air people! Leave the trailer park trash in the dust! read more
