Excellent food and reasonable prices. The bar is very inconsistent but happy hour drinks are reasonable. The bartenders need to review drink recipes and stick with them for drinkable selections. A Long Island Iced Tea is not Lemonade. The wait staff are very nice and responsive. This venue can be VERY packed, so you might want to go at off-peak times. We had an enjoyable stay here, Jan of 2021. I would imagine that during normal time, this place is hopping as they have SO much to do - all sorts of crafts, billiards, a 9 hole par 3 golf course, pool, hot tub, etc. Everyone was super friendly. Our spot was level, everything worked great. The on-site restaurant was really, really good. Amazing hot wings and daily specials. There is quite a bit of road noise coming from the highway, but only on the one side of the park- so make sure you choose a spot more centrally located. There are a few things to do in Yuma as well- museums , parks and decent restaurants as well. And for a bonus, it's a few degrees warmer than Phoenix in the winter. I was starving tonight!!! So. If anywhere, go to Westwind. The parking Lott made me nervous. The place is packed. The hubby assured me that that despite it being busy we will get our food soon. Sat down, got the pulled pork nachos for an appetizer and a margarita! The Margaritas are dangerously good. The cup it comes in just makes it better. You would have to be silly to order anything other than the fish on a Friday. (If you know anything about kitchens) 3 pieces for $15. Seasoned well. No grease. Golden. Crunchy. It was good. The manager is fantastic! He busts his butt. Checks on the staff, checks on the customers. Bussing the tables. Friendly. Just good stuff. Our waitress was nice too. Offered us more tartar sauce. We spent 4 days at Westwind RV a and Golf Resort in December during the season. We live in their sister park and wanted to stay in Yuma for a few days. Calling for reservations was easy and Lori was very personable and knowledgeable about the park. We were given the Passport America rate-although, their 4 day special is great, as well! Stay 3 days get the 4th free. We were given a perfect site that was close to the club house. The park has a small store in the registration office that sells shirts, hats, soda and a few snacks, a cafe, cocktail lounge, golf course with pro shop and clubhouse restaurant, library, billiards, exercise room, bocce ball, shuffleboard and pickle ball courts, laundry room, swimming pool and ballroom. They have music during the week and special concerts. They have clubs and games and so many activities that I can't name them all. Only negative is we have no cell service where we are and limited cell in the rest of the park. WiFi is paid which is usually free in most parks. It's also on the edge of town so going to places takes a bigger drive to get to major restaurants and mall. read more

But I must say going to this place has been a good experience every time I've gone. the customer service is good they are friendly courteous and pay attention to your needs and the food is also up to par. In Yuma Arizona it's hard to find a good place to eat for a good price and for me this place delivers all of the above. The manager Fonzie has always been welcoming and friendly. I have a RV and decided to come here in October of 2022 and was there for 3 months, I loved this place and was planning on coming back last year however I had some personal health problems that detained me from coming I'm planning on returning this year in September. I loved everything they have to offer from the great food and the ambience was superb, they also have Karaoke night. Westwind has a lot of activities golf,pickleball,volleyball,billards,games,cards,crafts,and much more. They have Friday night dances.concerts and they had a Man who played music at the pool on Sat. he was great, they also have a big pool and a great big hot tub. Everyone is so friendly here I have met some great people and looking forward to seeing them again this year and making new friends. Seemed nice so I paid for 3 nights and received a fourth night for free. Until they took us way back to our site. We are surround by a bunch of junky trailers. I feel like we are at a weekly motel. This is an RV Resort Golf Course, but they have a wonderful restaurant that's open to the public! You can choose to sit inside but because Arizona weather in Winter is wonderful we always sit outside. You face the golf course & it's just so relaxing & beautiful! Ok, now on to the food! On Fridays starting at 4 they always have a fish fry. Great price & it's so yummy! Go early or you'll be waiting for a place to sit & eat. Especially if you want to sit outside! Lunchtime is great too! Love their Prime Rib dip! Plenty of meat & grilled onions on delicious soft roll & served with your choice of side! I always get crispy fries! If your hungry you'll want to eat it all. If not I've shared with a friend & it was plenty. They have a bar so you can order cocktails too! We've never been disappointed & the service is impeccable. It used to be a great rv park until the last few years. The management is making some terrible decisions akin to spending a dollar to save a penny. The east gate has always been open to residents to go and come on a quiet street. Now they are forced to enter from the busy 32 st. The golf course is neglected to the point of not being called a golf course. No grass on it. Just mud. I had to move a large rv from site A to site B and back to A because the office REFUSED to make a simple number change on paper. This has been resolved actually because I'm leaving instead of going back to Site A and I won't be back. Other friends are selling their park models because the annual lot rates for them is going up 7.14% in July. It will be $4500 a year. It's a shame actually since it has so much potential with a manager who would concentrate on customer service. I feel for the staff who have to be the brunt of the complaints as the manager goes to another park 1/2 time and won't return calls. She directs someone else to call back. I'm not sure she could manage a one person rush to a two hole shitter. read more

DO YOUR DUE DILIGENCE BEFORE RENTING A PARK MODEL DIRECTLY FROM WESTWIND!! We had the unfortunate experience of not doing our due diligence and got caught up in the excitement of renting a park model for 2 weeks to 1)see if we wanted to pursue either renting for 2022/23 season or 2) go ahead and purchase our own. We left after the 1st week! In all fairness, the park is beautifully maintained, the staff is very friendly and fun - our park model rental a disaster. We called a couple of weeks before arriving to try and find out how equipped the unit was so we could pack accordingly. We were told there was a "couch" and everything needed for our stay. In looking back, we should have asked to see the unit before paying premium bucks for 2 weeks. Our mistake - went ahead and ordered a golf cart rental to be delivered as my husband is handicapped and needed this to get around - 1st day had to contact maintenance to repair the railing on the steps going up to deck as you could pull it off with your hands it was that shaky - this unit they rented us was probably meant for 1 person as there was only a 4ft loveseat (did not recline whatsoever) on one wall facing TV hung on opposite wall with 2 Costco folding chairs underneath - oh a floor lamp and a dining table with 2 chairs. Totally uncomfortable, only one person could sit comfortably on loveseat and other had to sit at dining room table or pull 1 of the folding chairs over to opposite wall. 2 of the 5 blinds could not be opened or shut; stoves oven never did operate - when I went to tell the office we were checking out a week early - the 1st thing said was "we do not give refunds" and I said, "of course not, why would you, you have our money". Lesson learned - DO NOT RENT DIRECTLY FROM PARK !! read more

Won't stay here again. We were her for a peaceful night and to leave the next morning by 10:00. Didn't get sleep until 2:30 a.m., as the neighbors were inconsiderate of others and not abiding to the park's quiet times. They were drinking, laughing loudly, clapping, throwing the "F" bomb, and generally being loud, well past 11:30 p.m. Quiet time starts at 10:00 p.m. Another neighbor in the immediate area had a very loud TV on well past 2:00 a.m. I called their "security" line at least seven times between 10:30 and 11:30 without anyone picking up. Should I approach the drinking group and suffer the consequences or grin and bare it? Decided to call management before checking out in the morning. Next morning guest services informed me they don't have security of any kind after 4:00 p.m. and there would be no one at the number to pick up. Incredible that a park of this size does not enforce the rules or provide security. It's the responsibility of the park to handle complaints, not leave it for guests to deal with or leave us without recourse. If the people I encountered are indicative of guests frequenting this park, book elsewhere, not here. read more

Have stayed multiple weeks over a five year period. This year the dogs and cats have completely overrun the place. Neighbor's dogs (2 sets of neighbors) are allowed to crap all over their sites. Dogs stop to pee in our site on their way to the dog run. Barking is periodic although sometimes dogs passing on the street take a dislike to one another at random. Feral cats are also a problem with cat fights at night. Traffic on the frontage road is problematic most of the time when exiting the park. The golf course is still too proud of itself for what it is at $12/9 holes. I will say that the course is in the best shape that I have experienced. I am staying in a large motorhome. read more

We always go to Yuma after Quartzsite RV Show. We heading to Yuma and stayed at this park. We really enjoyed our time. Everyone was so nice and helpful. The onsite restaurant is FABULOUS!! We ate there 6 times during our stay!! Unfortunately, due to Covid many of the normal activities were not happening. We are already planning our return visit the end of February!! read more

I wouldn't even give this place a 1 star if I had the option and here's why. We moved in 6 months ago per Jay the manager he approved our site for building a shed, patio, and pergola for our year round stay. We also have pets, so we put up an excercise pen, like others in the neighborhood. So we built it per his instructions. During the summer he would stop by for casual talk. Saying how nice our spot was. Well... 5 months later he shows up to tell us we had moved our pergola forward. Huh.. the pergola is extremely heavy and its grounded tightly into the ground, so for us to move it a foot forward would be a big deal. He informed us we had to take down everything. Being full timers that's our shade and being outside people this was our extended room. Plus we felt he was choosing to change the rules as fit for some people not all. This can go much deeper but, the people at WW right now are leaving the park in groves that are mobile but, the ones in park models are being forced to comply, move, or sale. We advised him he was in breach of our contract, since this was prior approved by him! So we left West Winds. I also want to mention I was never given the pet rule up front, had we, we would have never even considered this place. The rules are not pet friendly at all, so he handed me the pet aggrement 5 months later to sign. I would never sign something like this! Like the dog has to walk down the middle of the street on a 6 foot leash. Or they cannot pee on the rocks or trees. But only provide one 10x10 dog area that is in the far corner of a 1000 plus RV park or take the out to the desert to possibly get stung by scorpions or bit by snakes. I could go on! I just would like people to be aware of what's going at WW. read more

I wanted to write a fair and balanced review of West Wind RV & Golf Resort. We visited in March 2021 and stayed for 4 nights. The price was right and when I made the reservation the lady who helped me was polite and helpful. When we arrived, the check-in was easy and again staff was helpful. We were a bit shocked to see so many park models in a place that still calls itself an RV Park but understandable for the area of Yuma. When I made the reservation, I was very clear to the lady helping me that we had a 45ft motorhome with tow car. When we arrived, I found that they had originally put us into a space that even a 40ft. coach would have had a had time getting into. Upon check-in the lady helping me told me they had moved us into another site and she was not sure why. We had 2 somewhat helpful but nice park hosts take us to our assigned site where we again found we could NOT fit into. They talked between themselves and decided they knew of a larger site. Problem with this resort is it was built in the early 90's and designed for no larger than 40 ft. RV's. To get a 45 ft. RV into a site you have to find one with nobody behind you so you can take part of that site. Still the hosts only backed us up far enough in to get off the street leaving our front door opening into a drainage ditch around a palm tree. I said fine, no problem, we could make it work. Due to liability issues, I guess the park hosts are NOT allowed to actually help you back into the sites, only show you the spot you need to hit which again is a bit crazy. The park was laid out with the water, sewer, and power pedestal far apart, not together like most parks. It's like threading a needle when you back into the site. The hosts only helped make sure I didn't' back over the water and sewer. What kept puzzling me was that Good Sam rates this park 10/10/10 and it's nowhere deserving of this rating. I've been to many triple 10 parks and this park doesn't even make the 7/7/7 grade in our opinion. Very disappointed in Good Sam for this false rating. The park was clean, quiet, and well kept except for a few park models which have fallen into disrepair and allowed to stay that way. Again, you get the feeling walking around that you are NOT in an RV park but a trailer park that is going downhill. We found most of the park staff or what appeared to be volunteers helpful and polite. The two exceptions were an older lady at the front desk which I asked one morning for directions to go and view the new border wall. She forgot she was an employee and made a very unprofessional statement about the border wall being a "ridiculous looking thing". Maybe ridiculous in her mind but when you are working for someone else you should keep your politics to yourself. The second negative with employees was an older lady at the front gate. We entered one morning in our tow car which is equipped with a windshield cam that records not only video but time, speed, and location. When we came up to the gate, she felt we were traveling too fast and told us so entering the park which is a long driveway type. When we arrived at our site I checked the camera and found we were traveling 8mph at the entry which is less than the 10mph posted. Fine I said, we can handle one somewhat grumpy older lady. This was our first visit to Yuma and most likely will be our last. If you're on a real budget, Yuma is the place to come. If you would rather spend a little more and stay in a true 10/10/10 RV park you won't find one in Yuma. read more

Pros: Well maintained, very clean. Lots of activities. People are friendly. Spacious sites, can park your vehicle beside your rig. Concerts we attended were very good. Cons: Be careful - you will be charged for water and trash on top of your site rental which in my opinion is highway robbery. ($75 for 6 weeks on top of $800 for a month already). Wifi is a waste of $28/month - horrible signal - don't buy it. Pool aerobics would be more enjoyable if music was added - kind of boring otherwise. Not near enough pool loungers for the size of the park. (30+ loungers for 1000 sites). Golf course is par 3 and very narrow, not worth it unless you want to practice your short game. Billiards room is like a sauna inside - almost unbearable. Restaurant food is "OK" - nothing special. Ordered a caesar salad on wing night and received a garden salad...when told server, she said 'we don't have caesar salad so I gave you this one instead'. Menu listed a chicken caesar so I asked if the chicken could be left out - not an option. When I spoke with the manager, we were provided a caesar salad. Whew! read more

I have been coming to Yuma for the past 5 years. The last 2 years have spent at Westwind RV Golf resort. After deciding to make Yuma my winter home I tried and few resorts but after a week at Westwind knew it was the place for me. People were very friendly and welcoming. The resort had many great activities I enjoy doing. The staff made you feel like family. A great little restaurant and lounge as well as happy hour and live entertainment at the poolside. A solos club for those of us who are single and looking to meet new friends. The resort is clean and well maintained as well as open to opinions as to what makes the park a great place to live. We have waited days before posting this review to allow for a clearer perspective, but sadly it has not changed our opinion of the experience. We chose this park after carefully perusing their website and reading about all the amenities included with a stay. We also checked online reviews. Once we registered and were parked right up against a loud freeway and frontage road in this huge, empty park, our trials began. We asked the woman who led us to our campsite to please place us somewhere else, away from the constant traffic sounds. She refused and treated us as if we were being difficult. I also inquired about the stated Pickleball schedules and games and she shut us down rudely by telling us that she knows nothing about it. Turns out there was no Pickleball, even though it is advertised on their website and on the park cable channel and on other promotional materials. We showed up at 8:00am for the Pickleball class and games on their schedule and no one ever showed up. A friendlier park employee apologized and told us to come the next morning and there would be several regular players, including her, there at 8:00am. We stayed the extra night for that reason and showed up to play at 7:20am. No one was there. Stayed until after 8:00 and still no one showed up. The billiards room was never unlocked and the office shuts down at 3:00pm so there was no way to have it open in the evening for playing. The proclaimed onsite restaurant was never open, nor was the lounge during our stay. None of these activities were declared in the advertising to be open only seasonally, yet they were not available to us. Also, we stayed for 2 nights but only got access to the park Internet for 1 day. And that was for only one of us, not both! The park was deserted and we were told that this is a mostly snowbird permanent community with over 1,100 sites. If there were 40 people there we would be amazed. No services, no amenities, no customer satisfaction, no value for the time and money we spent here. Because of the extreme rudeness, lies and sorry customer service we won't be returning, nor will we ever recommend that anyone else ever stay here. Not good value for the money. At. All. read more

We were avid RVers for years until we arrived at Westwind RV and Golf Resort three years ago... Loved it so much we sold our fifth wheel trailer and bought a Park Model... New managers took charge, and the whole place immediately began looking like the FIVE STAR RESORT that it is... From managers to maintenance crews, and all the people in-between, these are the most helpful and friendliest folks you'll find anywhere... They will go the extra distance to make sure you're having the time of your life right here at Westwind... There are no reasons to go anywhere else because Westwind has it all: A beautiful par three nine-hole golf course; The famous Cheers Lounge where you can enjoy Karaoke and live music along with your favorite drinks; The Cactus Café, where breakfast, lunch and dinner is served every day... And, of course, the beautiful pool and the biggest hot tub you've ever seen! For us, there are no regrets... We love it here, and will be back every year as long as we are able... The first time we visited Westwind, was to join friends for Happy Hour. That year we bought a park model and had it installed on a lot just six lots down from our friends. We returned the next year and have not regreted our decision to live at WestWind. It is a wonderful park and we have made many friends.
