I've been to this salon three times now since moving to Ann Arbor, after a friend recommended it…read moreand I'm so glad she did. I always book with Cameron Hawley, and honestly, he just gets hair. I don't trust many people with mine because it's taken me a long time to grow it out and take care of it, but he was the first person to cut it after two years of no trims, and I've been coming back every three months ever since. My hair has never felt better. I also brought my mom once, she wanted a short haircut, but Cameron made a better recommendation based on her face shape, and it turned out amazing. She left feeling so confident and beautiful! I've also been doing the strengthening treatment with my cuts, and it's made my hair noticeably healthier and shinier. This time around, I came in for a trim and a Keratin Express treatment, and the results were wowwwww. With all the rain lately, I usually get a ton of frizz, but this treatment actually works and is totally worth the hype. I also picked up a few products Cameron recommended including a mousse, an anti‑frizz serum, and a thermic treatment. Full disclosure: I'm a Kérastase lover and have been using the brand for years, but I didn't know about these specific treatments. Now I'm obsessed. My hair feels so smooth, glowy, and healthy. If you're picky about who touches your hair, Cameron is your guy. I couldn't be happier with the results every single visit!!!!

I was fortunate enough to have Mady Rupp, she matched my color perfectly, and was willing to give me a braided up do (it's 100 degrees today). Its price point is on par with a color job, no surprise, but also worth every penny. I'm so glad I stumbled in (got an appointment in one day)!

So, I needed a place to get my grey hair roots touched up, because after 3 months I'd had enough…read more I waited & waited but we had a Dr appt in Toledo & since MI was still closed, I decided to go & get my roots touched up. I found this place because I saw a review that said someone travelled 4 hours to go here because Alicia did such a great job. I called & they said they had a hypo-allergenic hair color for me. I made the appointment & showed up on time with my mask etc. Alicia seemed super nice and the hair color did not burn my head. I liked the color and it turned out great except the roots were lighter than rest of my hair. My hair was super long and was giving me a head ache. I asked if she was really good with long,, thick & wavy hair. She said yes and I allowed her to cut it. It sadly was very chopped in the back. I was very sad. I did go back a 2nd time for root touch up though because I needed it & MI was just opening. When I asked her to blow dry the back with a little flip, she said something like "Nope not doing that!" I just said nothing and left. But that first visit, I should've known that something was wrong when she didn't want me to see the back of my hair until she curled it . She offered to curl it for free. I'm pretty sure it's because she was trying to hide the 2- layers that were cut without any blending. I finally went back to my regular salon & they had to cut more in order to fix it. So you can decide if you want to go here or not?

When I called that Thursday, I specifically said I wanted acrylics. I asked how much, they said…read more$55. They said the next opening was the next Tuesday which was pushing my timeframe because I am going out of town for a few weeks and was hoping to have them last that long. It's been years since I've had my nails done, so I was looking forward to it. When I arrived, I told the woman my name and said I had an appointment for acrylics. There was only a woman and a man working in there - no one else was in the salonn - no customers. The woman said they do not do acrylics, only dip nails. I told her when I called I said acrylics and no one said they didn't do them. The man jumped in, kind of aggressive tone and said they haven't done acrylics in over 5 years. I was not being argumentative at all but I was disappointed because I didn't have time to reschedule with anyone else. She asked me if I wanted to do the dip and I asked "will it last for 3 weeks, I'm going out of town and the last time I had dip it fell off early." She said it would stay on for 3 weeks so I agreed. Then I told her I wanted it to be natural color with a white tip. She said the shellac would be the best for me. I didn't know what a shellac was, I said I wanted the tip to not be too long, she asked me "this long?" and I said yes, and she started working on my nails. She had mumbled something in the middle of working on my nails, I couldn't hear her because she said it so quietly so I didn't reply. I'm wondering now if it was some kind of tactic to say that I agreed to what she was doing. She said something again, and I had to ask her again because I couldn't hear her. she said more loudly "relax" because apparently I was not turning my arm the weird position she wanted it at. I have arthritis in my hands and joints so it was uncomfortable and I said that to her. So while she worked about halfway through I asked her if the tip would be longer. She said in kind of a gruff voice, "I know what you want" She kept working and it ended up basically gel nail polish with a hardener over my nails, no length at all! She charged me $60 for what was done, she did ask if that was ok, but I had no idea what a shellac was supposed to cost, so when I got home I checked online to see what other salons were charging for it. I also checked to see what it was because I didn't have any idea. It says it will only last a couple of weeks! Other places are charging around $30 plus an extra $5 for the white tip. I called to ask her why I was charged so much and she said something about special something underneath. She got argumentative and said I agreed to it which of course is not true because she knew when I started asking questions in the middle of getting them done, that I didn't understand. I just feel taken advantage of and I should have not been charged so much. Won't go back there ever again!
