The Thomasville Police Dept advises me there have been multiple burglaries at this facility. This was done by people with access to the facility. Items stolen are too large to get over a fence. Until about October 2018 when a south Florida company known as Southern Self Storage bought him out. THEN THE PLACE BECAME A TOTAL RIP-OFF. The rent when up $10 a month. No big deal but read on..... Then they make you have insurance on your stored goods or else they can charge you $15 and up for their insurance. And you have no choice. It's extra money lining their pockets. Something Mr Joe Harvard never did. So if it's not on your homeowners policy, you WILL PAY $12 and up. It all adds up. No one should be forced to insure their own items. Lastly, they charge $15 a month EXTRA for 24-hour access to YOUR STORAGE UNIT. So if you want to go after hours to your unit then fork out an extra $15 a month under an after hours contract. Why would it suddenly cost more to enter the gate after hours. Answer: It doesn't!!! AS SOON AS I CAN, I AM VACATING MY STORAGE UNIT. This is not the way we do business in South GA. Great customer service, great place. I couldn't be more satisfied with this business. Estelle, the manager, is super friendly and a great help. The facility in extremely clean and in perfect repair. The rates are reasonable and access hours 6 am to 10 pm, which is perfect. The other reviewer is obviously an idiot with all the stupid complaints he has. Worst storage facility in Thomasville. Mr. Harvard was a honest businessman who truly ran a great business. The company that purchased the storage facility is not. They tag fees on anywhere. Facility is not maintained as it once was. It was a great day when we moved our items from this facility. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Anyone. They are at the max allowed by law. abs they stay that way and just don't care. All of these reasonable people I mentioned above are hometown people who have been here all of their lives. SSS is from Florida. And you MUST have insurance on your unit or else they charge you an extra insurance fee of st least $15. It should be a person's OPTION to buy insurance but they make you buy it if you are not a homeowner with a policy that shows your unit is covered. This is extra money in their pockets. Lastly, if you want to gain access to your unit after 10 PM, YOU GUESSES IT, you MUST pay an extra monthly fee. This one is overboard on control of you.
