I think Southern Tier Stables is providing a wonderful service to their community through their giving therapy to folks who have never had an opportunity to ride a horse and discover not only a activity they never realized could be possible for them, due to being physically impaired. Those people with other types of disabilities can gain confidence and experience success as well. Lastly, all will gain a sense of peace riding on a trail ride enjoying the outdoors. I also went to a rodeo there recently and had such a great time ! It was exciting watching the riders on the bulls and the barrel races were amazing. Those riders have some serious riding skills ! Food and beverages were an added pleasure. I'D advise everyone to check out their site and see what's going on at the Stables and see if there's an event or evening or morning trail ride you might enjoy trying! read more

Meet the Business Owner: Mark and Donna M.

Mark and Donna Minnoe are the owners of Southern Tier Stables and Makin' Memories Therapeutic Riding Center. They are involved in the local community, offering therapeutic riding to children with disabilities, and are partnered with the Cayuga Community College CILLS Program, where riders with special needs participate in a four week program learning to become independent riders. Mark Minnoe has 14 years experience working with horses. He is a Level 3 graduate of Richard Shrake's Resistance Free® Program. He proves students with instruction on communication, behavioral and riding techniques. Mark is current serving as President for the Finger lakes Equestrians Club. Donna Minnoe has 15 years experience working with horses. She is a Professional Association Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Int.) certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor. She instructs all our therapeutic programs. Before becoming a PATH Certified Instructor, Donna worked as a teachers aide for Persons

Southern Tier Stables is a BEAUTIFUL facility, There is something to do for everyone! have a family member who isn't ready to ride? the staff will be more than happy to teach them the fundamentals of grooming and saddling until they get that confidence to get on and ride. I have never been to a more loving facility in my life, you can tell everyone who works there loves their jobs and loves sharing their piece of heaven with anyone who is willing to come by! Make an appointment for a trail ride asap..you can thank me later. read more

My oldest daughter (age 8) starting riding by going for trail rides with her grandmother (who also rides at Southern Tier). She loved it so much she begged for summer camp. Who knew that in a week they would have her riding, grooming, cleaning and playing games with Doc?! She looked like a pro! Donna and her crew are nothing short of amazing. They truly love and care for their facility, their horses and their riders. We are blessed to have this wonderful Stable in our community! read more

Beautiful stables! Beautiful trails! Always fun time with the family, friendly staff all around. Don't hesitate to come out for a trail ride or a lesson! And I hear they are having a haunted hayride coming this fall! Sounds fun! Be sure to look into it! read more
