Took car to Southern and they aligned the tires with no problem, the pulling to the right was taken care of. We will take to Southern tire any day than NTB or Delta, stay away from Delta!!! P.S. I suggested to my coworker and she was very happy as well with the service, professionalism and her car is fixed when the dealership was going to charge twice as much and find other things wrong and want more money! Do not let these people touch your vehicle. Came in for a power steering leak. They changed a hose and sold us a 1500.00 brake job. Two days later power steering still leaking, because they didn't fix the actual problem. Said the brake power booster was the problem. So my vehicle was finally ready three days later and another 600.00 get in the vehicle and the brakes now need to be pushed all the way to the floor to stop and the cruise control doesn't work. Was told nothing can be done with the brakes and to bring it back one day and they'd fix the cruise control, would only take a few minutes. Brought it back this morning, first in line. Went to pick it up at 3:30 only to be told it would be a couple of hours. This is a AC service truck that's now been out of service in the middle of the summer for over a week. Finally got it back and guess what, it still doesn't work. I've heard good things about this place, but if you have anything except tires or possibly suspension I would definitely go elsewhere. read more

Referred a horrible tow truck driver and when I told them how the driver treated me they basically said, I don't believe you. We're not going to work on your car. I'm refunding you the deposit. Then told my new tow company that I owe them money and won't release my car. I call them and now they demand I bring them cash to release my car and refuse to take payment over the phone. They have my car, I can't get out there. read more

I have done business with them a few times now, however my last one left me with a sense of bad business. I went for an inspection for a problem, they got back with me and gave me an estimate for the work needed. But they told me they weren't quite sure if it would fix the problem. $320 on a maybe. I couldn't take the chance. I picked up my ride and was handed a bill for $75 for the inspection. I thought that was a bit much for the time they put in. So in the end I brought it up the street. and got what was needed for $220. problem solved! I don't think it is good practice to inspect, and estimate and still couldn't guarantee it would solve it. I could see maybe $30 for an inspection especially since they wouldn't be sure it was the problem. Done with southern, they are a tire store Im sure that is their speciality. But went to Auto Care of Metairie and Marty got it done for less. reasonably priced. read more

horrible company. they assured a tire would be delivered on a date even verifying on date of arrival it was out for delivery to then receive full payment prior to it being delivered and call a hour later saying it won't be delivered till 3 days later. asked for refund and was told id have to pay for restocking and return fees even though if they hadn't received full payment (which wasn't required till pickup) they wouldn't be able to charge me these fees. its very scammy. even stated prior to ordering im only ordering with them because you're assuring me it will be here by this day. they lied to get my business then tried to charge me fee's for their screwup. also receipt doesn't state anything about restocking or return fees nor was that mentioned prior to payment or making order. requested manager call me and instead of calling me she was mumbling stuff in the background . couldn't even hop on the phone and be professional. either way I disputed the charge and will be receiving the full amount back since I'm not even in possesion of the tire . oh well. lesson learned. also The sales rep Charles was so rude on the phone when I stated no one told me you couldn't pay the full amount over the phone only in person , his response " you didn't ask" well you were surely able to take my deposit over the phone but suddenly can't take the full amount? Needed a tire and nobody had the size in stock, so it had to be ordered. Southern Tire could get the ($440.00) tire in the next day, so I decided to go with them. About a week and a half after the tire was installed, a bubble or "egg" was noticed in the outside wall of the tire. Understanding that there are defects in tires, I called Southern Tire to see what could be done and was immediately answered that the "warranty" was not purchased, when one was never offered, and given excuses about why they would not replace it. Brought the car to Southern Tire for them to "look at it" and after looking at the tire .0003 seconds, I was given the response that a curb was hit and that there were marks on the rim and tire indicating that this was the case. While it is true that if a tire &/or rim hits a curb, there will be scuffs... BUT THERE ARE NONE (see pictures). This is also a front tire, if you are going to hit a curb... it's going to be the back tire. Bottom line, do not use this so called business if you expect any customer service if something should happen to go wrong. I recommend going to Delta World Tire... work and customer service is 1000x better. I will always go to them from now on, even if I have to wait an extra day and take an UBER everywhere until I can get my vehicle back. read more

The accolades that I have for this company Southern Tires, could fill a storage unit. This family owned business is more than 40+ years old. I was in dire straits when I called Southern Tire. I live a little more than 10 miles from the business, and had no way of getting there with my tires in the condition they were in. Everyone told me how good the service was, and i wanted to go there. I was fortunate enough to get one of the owners (Suzie) on the phone. I told her of my dilemma and she told me she would talk to her husband (Tony), the other owner. Of course it wouldn't be cheap , but the job would get done. Tony came out to my home with Austin the young mechanic. They were able to get the tire working and drive it back to their business. I was then able to get the tire replaced and some other issues looked at. Even though they were not able to help me on other issues, Suzie and Tony did everything they could to help me. I was pleased with the work that was done by Austin and the service I received. I would recommend Southern Tires Service to everyone. Its a big operation, with non-stop customers flowing in and out. I wish they could extend their services, I would bring my car back in a heartbeat.I was satisfied with the cost of everything. Suzie is the most compassionate person I've met in such a busy place like this in a long time. I was surprised to see a commercial for this place tonight and that it's still in business and felt inclined to write a review. My dad used Southern Tire for everything for about 25 years. So naturally I went there too trusting they'd do a good job. I guess because my dad is a NYC tough-guy they respected him and actually did work, but I'm a small blonde so they just took advantage of me every time I went. I paid for some kind of whole fuel system procedure that was over $500, but my car wasn't running right after that so I brought it back. They never fixed the problem and would say things like they drove it around and didn't hear a noise when there clearly was one. My friend looked at my car and said all they did was pour $5 fluid in there, and then didn't even flush it out so it got clogged and messed up my car. When my rear view mirror fell off they glued it back in so I couldn't plug the night vision cord into it anymore. You could even see the shape of where the mirror is supposed to go on the windshield and the guy is telling me to my face and telling he put it in the right spot, like I'm an idiot. Every time I tried to ask for details about what was being done to my car, I was just given BS. I had a Grand Cherokee that my friend who knows about cars told me it was solid and would last me decades. Thousands of dollars for things that when I googled it in half an hour I could diagnose the problem, but southern tire couldn't. In fact I tried to fix it myself but I don't have the right tools. Hence the reason you go to a mechanic. But Southern Tire just took my money and trashed my car. I loved that car too. I finally got my dad to stop going too at least. This was all 10 years ago, but if something was run that badly consistently for the years that I was a patron there and the thousands of dollars I spent for them to just damage my car, I can't imagine it's gotten better. It seems to be great for buying tires. But definitely do not go there for car trouble, especially if you're a young cute woman. They'll take you for what they can and treat you like you're a moron. read more

We had our RV tires replaced here. The price was good and the job was done in a timely manner. But on our first long trip afterwards we had 2 flat tires. The valves were so loose that it created slow leaks and damaged them by rubbing against the rims. When we called to complain and ask for a reimbursement of the money we spent on repairs they said that since we had opted not to have the valves replaced when they installed the new tires that they take no responsibility. I would expect that a tire place would know how to properly tighten the valves, regardless of if they'd been replaced. Sloppy, irresponsible work that could have been really dangerous for our family. read more

Amazing fast service; fair prices, super friendly desk staff. I just was having a tire swapped to a different rim but might go back for tires in near future. I was originally boycotting this place because in 1988; I attempted to get a front end alignment and after the alignment, it still pulled and shimmied- they gave me a refund and then the manager at time said wait and said she thought she had an idea and pulled the car back on the rack. She said that the tires might be bad. Sure enough, had high spots on one tire but she refused to take my car off the rack stating her guy "did his job" which was false; if he DID his job, he would have checked the tires FIRST before he attempted to align. You can't perform an accurate alignment if the tires aren't round anymore! Glad I gave them a second chance decades later! They even sent me a TEXT thanking me for my business! The mechanic was on his phone while working and when I asked about it a young man in the office went in to do it for the mechanic??The young man was the only helpful person in the office. I find the people at Southern Tire to be very trustworthy and honest and that's exactly how you should feel about people responsible for your car. I have a long commute every day and also put a lot of miles on my car for work trips so my tires need to be in good shape. Last year I bought 4 tires from here and last week I had to replace one when an "egg" was found in the rear passenger tire. It was pretty urgent that o get it replaced. The girl who runs the front office made sure to find me a comparable match that same day even though it wasn't in stock. She had it brought in on the truck that morning at the best price possible (more than $20 less than I was quoted the day before by the mechanic who fixed my brakes) and she threw in complimentary nitrogen in all 4 tires. It was only when I picked up my car that I learned that Southern Tire does full automotive care. I had no idea- the name is a bit deceptive, haha. If I had known, I would have taken my brake problem to them as well. I know I need to replace my struts soon and I'll be calling them to get a quote since I know i'll get a good deal and fast, courteous service. read more

what an awful experience. so unprofessional from flirting with me at the counter then doing the opposite of what I asked them to do and had specifically signed the work order for. I rolled over a bolt which got stuck in my tire during a bad storm. Found the shop on yelp and it was the closest to where I was located. asked for the tire to be patched because I did not want a plug. Confirmed with him again that they will patch the tire. then signed the work order form which read PATCH. simple right? guess not. the guy comes back it said my car was ready but that they couldn't loosen the bolts so they plugged it. couldn't loosen the bolts? at a tire shop? that's odd. I stepped aside and called my father who works in the automotive business who told me specifically to get the patch over the plug. the guy started fussing at me from the counter while I was having a private and discreet conversation. then when I hung up the phone told me "we tried to help you you know what take your keys and don't come back". actually you did not provide the services i authorized and did not get my authorization prior to installing the plug. that's not helping. that's bad business, disgusting behavior, and discriminating by not taking my request seriousness because I am female. read more

I went to them earlier this year for custom wheels on my 2004 Mercedes CLK 320. We found a set I liked, paid $100 deposit and returned on the following Saturday to have them installed. They were beautiful and it really made the car look modern (we went from stock 16" wheels to a 18" fitment). They even polished my headlights for a small upcharge. The total price was more than initially quoted, but the owner showed good faith by working with me on a price I found fair (my fault for not getting the quote in writing). Shortly after leaving I heard some grinding when I turned the wheel, so I returned the following Monday and they installed spacers at no additional cost. I found my experience with Southern Tire to be a pleasurable one overall: everyone was professional, and their prices are reasonable. If you want cheap stuff, RimTyme is right up the street on Airline. But if you want quality, Southern Tire is your place. I will definitely consider them again as I look for wheels for my 2010 Ford Edge. read more

Julie was at lunch and the guy who helped me was extremely rude and wanted to know what the other companies quoted me before he gave me a price. I told him I wanted to know his price first and then I told him what Honda quoted me (which was cheaper). He then said "well, I don't know what to tell you about that" and hung up on me. Went there to get new tires for my car. Spend over $800 to get the car back and the emergency brake button is cracked and off, and a door panel is on the seat! The manager assures me the tech didn't touch anything inside and tries to glue the button back on! Please don't waste your time or money there. You will leave very unhappy. read more

I didn't even see or speak to you when I initially dropped my vehicle off so I don't know where you get that false information from because my issue was and still is the fact I was never informed the lift spring installation would cause my vehicle to creak prior to me agreeing to "pay" for the installation! You made your decision not to refund the money I paid for the spring installation and I made my decision to write an unsatisfactory review on your business due to the unprofessionalism and failure to disclose pertinent information regarding the spring lift installation causing my brand new vehicle to creak like a damn hooptie! You say all lift kits creak and to ask any truck owner who had one??? Guess what I had before the new vehicle I brought in??? A 3 1/2 inch lift kit on my 2012 Tahoe LTZ that I purchased off road tires from you just last year and low and behold, it didn't creak not one damn bit since it was installed by Auto Empire in 2013! well, 6 mths.ago I went the sth. tire as I have in the past to do a a/c issue and come to find out ,they know nothing about a/c the tech. says he's certified but isn't, after 4 4mths of it being dome the a/c worked 4 weeks total and has been in there shop 3 times for a day or longer , they blame it on every thing ,I had it those issues fixes at others shop and took it back to them and still couldn't get my a/c they put in all new to work , now they all hang up on me when i call. keep u all posted I start my lawyer suit today against them . read more

I drive an old Jeep Wrangler that usually is in the shop more than it is on the road, so that means I have gone through several mechanics since being in New Orleans for the last four years. Being from California, I have very high expectations in customer service and I am just now finally finding that quality of service. Southern Tires help me with a ride twice to where I needed to go while my vehicle was getting new tires, wheels, and alignment, but also brought my old Super Swampers and wheels to my house so I could sell them on Craigslist. Southern Tires were also extremely honest in calling me a few days later after I had gotten my Jeep back, to let me know I had a credit they wanted to issue back to my credit card, I mistake I did not catch. The Jeep has no issues and for the first time since 1999, when I bought my Jeep, the alignment is right!!!! Southern Tires was so great, they even recommended a mechanic that is next store called Southern Autoworks who actually did my alignment. I met the owner Paul and I was impressed.
