On the recommendation of a fellow Yelper. My Saturn Vue needed some serious attention. I've loved her terrible and have always tried to get her the best service. I called and spoke to Lee, the assistant manager and he indicated that I could come at anytime before 6 and if not, park her in the lot and drop keys in the door. Groovy. I arrived right around 6 and Lee was actually leaving. But guess what? He helped me out. Explained a diagnosis would be 100$ or applied to the repair of the car. Fair enough. They would check her out on Monday. Cool. What I didn't tell Lee was that I have one of those engine light scanner deals. Let's see if they're straight with me. Promptly on Monday morning at about 9am, I received a call. Lee basically repeated everything I had already scanned and gave a detailed breakdown and cost per line item. Wow. He even explained what each thing was when I inquired. Double wow! 1600$ hmmm okay let me think on it. And then I call him back because brother in law said it was leaking oil too and what about hoses? I hang my head in sadness, Lee reluctantly tells me that a seal is worn and the hoses are indeed spongy. Dang I knew the part about the hoses too. 2700$ The Pirate and I round tabled all options. From the outside she looked great! Some just age well with care. I knew the truth, time to call Bridge House. Since they couldn't get her until Friday, the Pirate called and asked if it would be okay to leave her there until they could pick her up. I went by the day before and paid Lee the 100$ (plus tax)and thanked him for their services. On Friday I met the man from Bridge House in their side lot so I could donate her. She hauled many an oyster from da bayou to businesses in New Orleans, multiple trips over her favorite bridge (the Luling bridge), a zillion trips to the airport, road trips with my dear Mother and even saved a man's life from a refinery explosion. She was tired. When we left, the Pirate said "damn! If we ever need anything on our cars, we're coming here" I agree, Honesty is the best policy and it's their policy! read more

I bought some tires for my truck from Sam's. I intended to have them put the tires on as part of the purchase. Sam's decided after I already bought the tires that they wouldn't put them on my truck because they weren't the same size as stock. I searched all over and Express was one place that would agree to mount the tires even though I bought them elsewhere. Battery was at the end of its life. I must've arrived at the best possible time because I requested a diagnosis (which isn't free by the way) and they determined a battery replacement. I was advised and replacement took place. I was back on the road reassured my car works now without having to call my insurance agency anymore to jumpstart the cheap car I dread. Brought my car in to have O2 sensor replaced thinking they would be cheaper than bringing it to the car dealership. I was wrong. Was also charged for something that didn't need to be done. Learned a $650 lesson. Dealer, and another local shop, would have been less than $350. Husband called to discuss bill and rather than quickly apologize for the misunderstanding, the owner instead tried to defend a phone call he wasn't involved in. First and last time I would ever bring my vehicle there or recommend this place. I would recommend anyone that does go get quotes from other local shops (even the car dealership itself was more than half the price), a mistake I made by not doing beforehand. Lucky's definitely got lucky on my dime. Edit to respond: The quote you gave wasn't explained, as you finally conceded to and no "update"' was necessary to replace the sensor. Regardless, your price was double that of even the dealership. read more

This place seems like it's too good to be true. When you walk in, you are greeted with professionally dressed employees who acknowledge you within seconds of walking in. They are friendly, polite, and will discuss everything with you. Due to the dilapidated condition of my vehicle, I am always having an issue. If there is a problem they discover, they will walk you through their neat, spacious, and tidy repair bays to show you the problem. For me, it was a tie rod. And their repairs are both less expensive than most (replace tie rod and alignment is 550, where my regular [for now] would charge that for just the tie rod, and he can't even do the alignment) and the repairs are personally guaranteed by the mechanic who does the work. By the way, he will not be a grease smeared bum. It's a joy to deal with these people, and their waiting room has rather comfy sofas. Can't recommend enough. read more

Lucy Roger's is without question, the best auto repair facility I have ever been to. Their customer service is excellent, their worksmanship is good, and the part I like most - they tell it like it is. They're honest with what needs work and why, and they don't do work without getting your approval first. They go the extra mile to make sure they absolutely understand why you are there and what you want done, which I appreciated. I left a review on Google as well, but based on those and my personal experience, I will recommend Lucky Roger's to anyone that asks 'Do you know of any good mechanics?'. I see there is a negative review here, but frankly I don't buy it. I work in sales and customer service, and I can tell you right now clients with the 'customer is always right' attitude are usually wrong. Please ignore the negative reviews as they are inaccurate and state zero facts. I do not work for Express nor have relatives that work there. I've always been honest and I think that it is unfair for people to leave bad reviews without facts. Express team members are very thorough with their inspections and recommendations. I had an alignment and my fuel injection system cleaned and Express did an awesome job. Besides the work they performed on my vehicle they recommended several things that I was already aware of so I know they were not just trying to charge for unnecessary repairs. I recently got my beautiful Sonata back from a long stint in the body shop and noticed that my brakes felt unusually spongy. I was starting to worry, so I looked around town for places that do brakes hoping to find the best deal. The guy at Lucky Rogers quoted me at ~10-20% cheaper than everywhere else that I looked, so I drove over to see them. Now as a young girl, I feel vulnerable going to car shops... It really, really bothers me when mechanics try to sell me services that I don't need. But at this place, they drove my car around the block and inspected my brakes for me, told me that my brakes were in great shape and that all Sonatas drive like that, and didn't charge me a penny. They refused any payment even after I offered to pay for their time. This meant a lot to me, and I'm so glad I've found a local place that I can trust with my car. I drive from Uptown to go here because I trust them so much. Every time I go in they are extremely helpful, polite, and really seem to give me the best deal possible. As a 20's female from out of state it was very difficult to find a mechanic I could trust. The workers always walk me through the steps of what is wrong and why it needs to be fixed. Minor work - mounting a tire on a replacement rim (old rim had a leak). After we picked up the car (at a body shop that subbed out the work to Lucky Rogers), the tire pressure monitor system was in error mode, traced to the replacement rim. The monitor was working fine before the work was done, but I could not prove they caused the problem and had to purchase a new sensor, at $160+. They were polite about it and suggested I add it to an insurance claim, but the rim issue was not related to an accident. read more

My wife and myself drove from Dallas to New Orleans for a cruise. On the morning of the cruise(a Sunday) we tried pulling out of the parking lot at our hotel and the car would not reverse more then a couple of inches. I dreaded this was a transmission issue but since we had to catch our cruise ship we called AAA who towed our car to Express Care Care which was just a couple of miles from our hotel. Since we would be at sea I had my sister contact the mechanic on Monday morning to let them know if it would be worthwhile fixing the problem. I dreaded the transmission was out and it was not worthwhile to have it fixed base don the age of our car. But my sister was able to contact me on the ship via text and told me that the issue was with a bolt from the brake caliper coming off and bending it. They had the issue fixed(including re-balancing the tires) the same day by working with my sister. And they were fine to wait on us to return the following Monday to pick up our vehicle and pay when we picked up the car. (The cost was much less then I was expecting). When we returned I called them on Monday after they opened and the mechanic told me what went on. (Nice guy...though forgot his name...sorry horrible with names) They even replaced a brake bulb light that had gone out. When we took an Uber to the shop to pick up our car everything was ready to go and we were out of there in about 10 minutes. Both my sister and myself were very impressed with the honesty and expertise of these folks. Just wish there shop was in the Dallas Area. :) Thanks Guys! read more

I was hearing some squeaking in my brakes and I assumed the pads needed to be replaced, stopped by here as it is close to my house, so glad I did. Turns out the squeaking was just anomaly and my brake pads are in just fine shape. They let me know and didn't charge for the diagnostic.
