Beautiful evening for a sunset cruise on the bay! The Southern Wave is a catamaran that glides through the water. We experienced a very smooth ride in our 2-hour sail. Captain Nick greeted us with a warm smile and gracious assistance into the boat. Hannah provided outstanding service from the moment we boarded until we stepped ashore. The chef worked throughout the cruise to grill our shrimp appetizer and dinner of chicken and beef fajitas and cut fresh fruit for dessert. Live music featuring a singer (didn't catch her name) with a beautiful voice who was talented at playing acoustic guitar created a relaxed vibe that perfectly fit the setting. Highly recommend!

Great time had by the entire family. Wonderful sunset dinner cruise! The food was phenomenal! Started with appetizers of grilled shrimp that were absolutely divine. Next we were served beef and chicken fajitas on corn or flour tortillas along with all the fixings. AJ did a fantastic job making sure we had plenty to eat, would bring us drinks and remove our trash. Grilled catfish also made an appearance before we were served fruit cups filled with red and white grapes, honeydew, cantaloupe, and pineapple Little chocolates were also available We were entertained all evening by a wonderful musician #Iamjewelmarie. She was amazing and never took a breath from singing. She is really talented and very entertaining The sunset and cruise were amazing as well. Overall just a very nice evening to spend with your loved ones on the bay of South Padre. Will be back again!

    Sunset on the boat

Super cool experience! Loved being out on the water when the sun went down. Beautiful weather made it great! Food was actually the best Mexican food we had in town the whole time we were there. Just so you know, the boat goes slowwwww but it's nice and relaxing!

My teenage children and I did the sunset cruise recently and we had an amazing time. The ride was peaceful, food (grilled shrimp, beef fajitas, chicken fajitas, grilled fish, and fruit) was delicious, service was attentive, live music was great, and the views were spectacular. I would recommend.

We had a great evening dinner cruise! Staff was great and our singer set the mood! Do this cruise, you will have a great time!

All there is to the trip was just the captain (Christian) taking you out to the shallow area of the water so that way you can swim and snorkel with the fishes, while the captain cooked burgers and hot dogs for everyone. Fun experience for all. I didn't snorkel much just cause Everytime I saw a fish I got spooked! Lol plus we had kids on board who fed the fishes when they weren't supposed to. So seeing all those fishes in the water scared me. Definitely give it a try.

Great experience had by all! Boat and equipment was all nice and clean. Boat captains were friendly and knowledgable. Food was great! The Lilly pad was a great addition too.

Best dinner cruise ever! The crew were excellent, the entertainment was great. The food (shrimp appetizer, fajitas and fish taco entree) was great! The sunset cruise was great! There were only three things that could have made our experience better and two of those were completely out of the crew's control (clouds and ill-mannered children). The third was the music, the volume was a bit louder than necessary. I would definitely do this again!

Wasn't sure what to expect. There was a large group of people waiting to board this sailing vessel. So we followed and found some comfortable seats. The crew was small, but extremely nice and friendly with everyone. One was in charge of cooking/grilling and the others were in charge of the sailing the boat and pointing out a few sights. For the most part, we were left to enjoy the sailing, food and our own company! The food was good: shrimp, beef, chicken, vegetables and fresh fruit There was some soft drinks for everyone. BYOB which was a nice addition! Wonderful, relaxing and romantic! Loved it! Can't wait to do this again!

No social distancing/ self served food

I canceled my cruise, 40 people in a small boat seems a bit over crowed, and the food is self served, I was expecting something more intimate and with social distancing involved. I'll be looking for a more intimate cruise. Thank you.

Beautiful, peaceful, smooth ride with an outstanding crew! This boat catered a delicious meal for our wedding party while we listened to music and enjoyed our family. Perfect place to get married! We just can't thank you enough for all of your hospitality and the easy going evening you provided. Love from our family to yours!

It wasn't a sunset cruise on a catamaran it was a shoreline motor cruise totally sucked.

Our experience with Breakaway Cruises was terrible and completely unprofessional…read more We arrived at 2:00 PM to schedule and pay for a 4:00 PM jet ski reservation for three jet skis for our group of six. We spent about 20 minutes completing paperwork and talking with Coral, who told us to be back by 3:45 PM. We left to change and returned at 3:35 PM, ready for our ride. Instead, Coral told us the 3:00 PM group had "just arrived late" and we'd now have to wait until 5:00 PM. That's completely unacceptable. Even if her story was true and they really were the 3:00 PM group, they were late. Breakaway Cruises should have canceled or delayed them--not us, who showed up on time and followed every instruction. On top of that, I overheard Coral speaking with the other group, and it didn't sound like they were late at all. It felt more like Breakaway Cruises was overbooking to make extra money and shifting people around to cover it up. I even heard Coral asking another group whether they had evening plans--more evidence of double-booking (her knowing they would make them wait past their scheduled time). We asked Coral to let us go as scheduled or cancel the other party. She claimed to agree with us but did nothing. She refused to let us speak with a manager. Instead, she offered us "inventory" jet skis that had been sitting in storage. Why should we get older, potentially less safe equipment when we did everything right? The other group should have been inconvenienced, not us (that is if they were really "late"). We ultimately left without riding because we didn't feel safe using equipment that might not have been recently serviced. Breakaway Cruises clearly doesn't care about customers' time, safety, or money. They're unethical, careless, and willing to lie or overbook to boost profits. I would absolutely not recommend them.

She gave me a form to fill out but it had someone else's full information on it, including their ID. That's a huge privacy issue. I asked when I first got there what the requirements were for riding a jet ski and she told me there were no hidden fees. After waiting around 40 minutes and filling out everything, she suddenly tells us we need a boating permit that costs another 10 to 15 dollars. That should have been mentioned from the start. Overall a really unprofessional experience. I wouldn't come back or recommend this place to anyone.

His character was a C average to sayvtge least. He brought baby trout poles to bottom fish with my older sons and husband . He made them catch their own bait, truly tachy.
