I have to say Doctor Remmers is beyond amazing ! Although he has retired there is not a better specialist anywhere. I love him to pieces and will have to say he made the whole office brighten up especially since he took pain away!!!!!!!! The only reason for the 4 Star is that the front desk is not organized well nor do they have a good system for helping a patient in pain. YEars ago the front desk was wonderful! Micha who is also now there is meh - no empathy and borders on being rude. Other then that the practice is wonderful!!!!! Although never the same without my favorite doctor. read more

Beyond Exceptional. I had an infection 'come on' fast from a cracked molar and resulted in the emergent need for a root canal. I cannot remember being in so much pain when I walked through their front door. The front desk was efficient. The Dental Assistant was comforting, professional and accommodating. Dr Allen was simply outstanding. From explaining the process, to testing the viability of my teeth to numbing my mouth to executing the procedure, his calming personality and unequivocal professionalism made what we all think is going to be an utterly miserable time, suprisingly pleasant and interesting. To say that I am thankful and grateful for Dr Allen and his entire team feels woefully insufficient. Don't second guess your decision to schedule this team. They're second to none. Period. read more

I felt compelled to write a review because Dr Allen and my experience was just amazing! Root canals have a bad reputation. I had put it off for 8 months due to anxiety, which now looking back was ridiculous. He was so kind, patient and skilled. He patiently explained everything before and during the procedure. It was totally painless and I didn't have gas. Even this morning, the day after, no pain. Dr Allen and his assistant were fantastic! The blanket, headphones with music and tv were nice for added comfort. They were very intent on making me feel comfortable. I've never had such a great dental experience and it actually didn't take long. In addition, the front office staff was so very kind and called me beforehand to let me know of what my co pay would be the day of procedure. No surprises. And actually, as I'm writing this review, I just received a morning after call from their office asking how I'm doing! All around a wonderful experience. WARNING: GO ELSEWHERE!!! I called in mid February after being referred by my dentist this location for a root canal. I was given an appt for the first week of March. I asked for an estimate and they said I would have to wait to call back a few days before my appt to get that information because they were short staffed and were only calling to get estimates a few days out. First red flag because we are talking a difference of $1500 but I crossed my fingers and hoped it would work out financially. I followed up twice the week leading up to my appt and the second time they were able to confirm pricing. On the Friday morning before my Monday appt I had to call to reschedule due to a serious work conflict I couldn't get out of. The male receptionist (Michael?) reprimanded me and said if I needed to move the appt again I will have to seek care elsewhere. What?! I had no intentions of changing the next appt, so much so that I took the day off work. Well, the morning of my appt they call to let me know that they are "out of gas" and that "they can still do the root canal but it will be more uncomfortable than usual". They offered to move my appt to the following day when they would have gas delivered, but again, I had taken the day off of work to make it happen so I decided I would just bite the bullet and deal with the discomfort. Then, I show up for my appt and they ask for payment of $1700 (vs the $350 I was quoted by them). Of course, I said there must be a mistake. They said they are no longer in network with my insurance. I asked why they didn't let me know when they called me on Friday and the girl said she was off on Friday?! Huh? I would think you would know you were no longer in network with someone's insurance sooner than that, right? A change in insurance contracts is usually something planned in advance. The bigger issue is that the staff saw nothing wrong with all of this, no apology, no empathy/sympathy. I should have trusted my gut from the first red flag and seeker care elsewhere. It took two appointments to get my old root canal redone. Then they didn't tell me anything about putting in only a temporary filling so here i am 2+ months later calling them to ask them for an appointment to have my filling checked because it feels like it is missing. Now they tell me i should have gone to my regular dentist within 2-4 weeks to have a permanent filling put in... very poor communications. Beware! I was referred to Southlake Endodontics by another Southlake Dentist. I had a bad fall on cement and chipped 2 teeth. One tooth was painful and possibly needing a root canal. Dr. Allen was wonderful, very knowledgeable, good "bedside manner", professional, and friendly. They did x-rays and cat-scan. At this point, it looks like a root canal can be avoided. Being thorough, they recommend I come back for followups a few times. Dr. Allen also gave me the names of quality dentists to see about replacing the crowns. So I'm not too crazy about 5 stars on a first review, nor do I like reviewing doctors, but this was such a good experience, I feeI must do both. So a few weeks ago a tooth started bothering me. Not so much the tooth, but the gum. It was rather swollen and tender. Lucky for me I was a day or two away from a regular cleaning with my regular dentist at Just For Grins in Keller. Well to make a long story shorter, Dr. Jonathan says I need to see a specialist about this tooth, as there is some infection going on (revealed by the x-ray) and that a root canal may be required. Well this term scared the hell out of me. But I figure I better get on this quick, considering the pain. JfG gives me a card for Southlake Endodontics, and sends my contact info over for an appt. A few days later, off I go to Southlake. As other reviewers have said, very nice staff in a comfortable office. I am seeing Dr. Larsen, and he has a very reassuring way about him. Some e-rays are taken, and yep, root canal recommended. Actually, the x-rays are pretty scary. So I'm numbed up and the root canal is done. After the procedure, more x-rays are taken (these, of my cleaned and filled roots, are quite interesting). It's all good. I'm given some pills for pain (taken now and for the 12 hours), and a prescription for antibiotics. I was told what to take should I need to manage the pain further. I didn't. This has to be one of the least traumatic dental procedure I have ever had. Very little pain afterwards. In fact, now that the cause of the infection is removed, I'm feeling better than ever. Bottom line: The words "root & canal" had me very nervous, but things went really well. I just hope I don't ever hear those words ever again. PS. I don't think I've ever seen another business with all 5-star reviews. It's well deserved. read more

I was referred by my dentist to Southlake Endodontics last month for a root canal procedure done by Dr. Remmers and I have to say the procedure itself was painless. My anxiety was sky high from all the horror stories and people always saying I would rather have a root canal than do this or that which only added to my fear. Just the mentioning of the word "root canal" sends my blood pressure soaring. Dr. Remmers and his assistant did a great job putting me at ease during the procedure. Also important is the professionalism they showed explaining the procedure. The truth is that the process was completely painless. I was given Ibuprofen after leaving the dental office and a prescription of Amoxicillin for bacterial infections plus a pain drug that I didn't fill. I didn't even have to go on the suggested Ibuprofen and Tylenol altered every few hours. I would say a dentist grinding down your teeth to fit a crown is actually more stressful. Even Dr. Remmers said afterwards don't believe all the horror stories you hear on the Internet. I expected some pain in the aftermath so I feel it was an added bonus not experiencing any discomfort. Hopefully I don't need to utilize his services again but if that happens I would highly recommend Dr. Remmers for the job. Also just one word of advice for you corn nut lovers. Give them up immediately as that is what lead to my chipped tooth and the root canal procedure. read more

Dr. Mitchell went far and beyond his duties. He performed a root canal through a crown (part of a bridge). He found decay that should not be there since the bridge was done fairly recent. He took the time to take as much of the decay as possible and even set a foundation for a new crown I will be possible be needing. He is extremely careful and with a very light hand. His expertise and kindness is truly appreciated. I only wish more professional were like him. read more

I was referred to Southlake Endodontics by my dentist Dr. Lauren Drennan of Davis Family Dental Care, which btw they are awesome too, highly recommended. I was seen by Dr. Chad Allen who is very awesome. Although I don't like to be kept waiting, that aside Dr. Allen made me feel comfortable from the start. As soon as he walked in to the patient's treatment room, I had no doubts of his abilities. He told step by step what I should expect, even though I wasn't nervous. They have really good tunes going on the radio which made the whole visit comfortable. I've been recommending Dr. Chad Allen of Southlake Endodontics to my neighbors, family, etc. In fact I had to seen him again because I kept feeling sensitivity on the tooth that he worked on (no problems found due to the procedure), and on the way home stopped by Tom Thumb store in Grapevine and was talking to the cashiers. And I had told them about Dr. Allen and one of the ladies said she was looking for a Doctor because she needed a root canal. I talked up Dr. Allen because he truly did an awesome job. Truth be told even after the procedure I truly had no pain whatsoever. This man knows what he is doing and I highly recommend him, and to make this even great. His staff are awesome too from his assistants, to the front desk people. I really don't make any recommendations, but I can't help but to recommend Dr. Chad Allen. Saw Dr. Lawson today. He was sincere, kind and caring. I was told by another dentist that I had an abscess on a molar with a root canal completed many years ago and that I had three cavities. I was so worried I would need an extraction then implant and crown. He assured me that everything was fine. I don't know what's wrong with this world that we have to search for a second opinion. Grateful for a little education and intuition that led me to his office. His receptionist Ashley was delightful and the office was very efficiently managed. I came in from out of state for the Thanksgiving holiday. My tooth that I had a root canal on in 2017 was in excruciating pain. After a sleepless night, I was lucky to get into a dentist who saw a problem, but he could not fix it and sent me to Southlake Endodontics. Dr. Remmers got me in that afternoon. He walked me through 3 options. At that point, I had been in pain for more than 20 hours and I wanted it fixed. Dr. Remmers and his staff, drilled through the old crown, found a fourth root and cleaned out the remainder of the 3rd from 2 years before. After my previous root canal, I swore I would never do another while awake. This time, I had nitrous oxide. They also had music over noise canceling headphones. Before the procedure, Dr. Remmers warned me I would be in worse pain for two days. I have had next to no pain! I could not be happier with my results. I would not have a root canal at a general dentist ever again. Specialists have more expertise and better equipment. Dr. Remmers is the best. read more

I couldn't have had a better experience at this office, and that is saying a lot considering I had a root canal. I ended up needing a root canal just a couple of days before Thanksgiving. I didn't think there was any way I would be able to get this done in time for a pain-free holiday, but that is exactly what happened. When Dr. Allen first came into the room and confirmed that I would need a root canal, he said he would be able to get it done right away. I was very surprised since it was already the end of their work day. I I didn't detect one ounce of irritation or rush from him, Ashley, or his assistant Rachel as they stayed nearly 2 hours past closing to care for me. Dr. Allen has fantastic bedside manner, and is extremely calming and responsive to even the slightest indication of discomfort. I felt so relaxed and comfortable during the procedure as Dr. Allen and Rachel took care to explain everything to me as they worked and frequently checked in to make sure I was not feeling any pain. 18 months of pain, sensitivity and discomfort, 4 temporary crowns, 3 permanent ones and over 12 dentist visits (all for the same tooth) and Dr. Remmers fixed it in an hour with a simple, painless root canal. Beautiful, calming office. Everyone from the doctor, to the assistant/hygenist (Lana), to the receptionist (Jeanie), to the lady who took my payment at the end was competent, friendly, helpful and pleasant. FYI,I am a white knuckle dental patient and hate the thought of being in the dentist chair. Combine that with the need for a root canal and I am a basket case. Because of yesterday's visit to Dr. Larsen, I can now put those two words together and it applies perfectly. I was in immense pain from an angry tooth, and no one had appointments to get me in, but Dr. Larsen got me right in and got me feeling better. He was very thorough and gentle with me. Explaining everything along the way, and just had the greatest experience. I will recommend this office to anyone who needs an Endodontist that is amazing!! Both were very friendly, setting me at ease immediately answering any questions I had and making the whole stay very laid back and easy. I've had two root canals done here by Dr. Larsen. Let me just say wow. Root canals don't seem like something you can be happy about, but he does an awesome job at making it painless. Even after the numbness wore off I hardly had any pain. Their office staff is super friendly and makes you feel comfortable and Dr. Larsen is super personable. The other reviews were spot on. Drs. Remmers and Larsen are the best there are. From filling out the paperwork at home, on their secure site (so you don't have to fill out 30 pages or paper when you get to the office. All you do is sign) to the extremely nice and accommodating in room staff it was an actual pleasure. I mean that in the comparison to other offices and medical clinics you can go to. Totally painless procedure and very efficient. You will feel well taken care of, even a follow up call two days later to make sure you are still good. If you are shopping around for an Endodontist. Front office staff was completely incompetent, demanded cash when insurance could not be verified (when indeed it was in effect) I filled out all the paperwork online, then received a call to fill out again, I told them it was done on line they argued with me that it was impossible as they did not have my email. Upon arrival at the office for the consultation, they demanded I fill out all the paperwork, which I refused, Debbie had someone come out and help her, the paperwork was on the portal as I said. No apology was issued. Met with Dr. Larsen, decided to schedule the root canal. Was told by Dr. Larsen, appointment time was 08:00 come in at 07:00 take the sedation pills, and they would bring me back when I was getting sleepy. Arrived at location set time, took pills, when in to check in, was told that my appointment was 09:30 argued with me that I was not told to come in at 07:00 and they would administer the pills. Somehow, they took me back, the procedure was done, and when I sat up I immediately started to profusely drain from my left nostril. I did not think this was a problem as I was sedated, and not clear headed at the time, and was laying down for the procedure. Later in the day, after going through a full tissue box, I called the office and was told this is common, it will go away. More than 24 hours later, I called the office again, to talk to Dr. Larsen, I was told he "ran an errand" and would call me ASAP when he returned. Shortly thereafter, I received a call from Shawna at the office, asking "how I was doing" I asked her did she not know anything about my case, and my various calls? She said no, she did not. I explained to her what was going on and immediately she said "its completely unrelated" !! I explained that Dr. Larsen already said that it is common and it should resolve itself. She then eluded that I had to go through her. Spoke with my primary Dentist who referred me, and they are looking into the matter. Still waiting on a call from Dr. Larsen to determine if I have to go in to see him. Obviously my sinus cavity has been breached, and my concern in the brain barrier proximity. I would not recommend this office to my enemy. Poor communication between staff, and horrible customer service. I liked Dr. Larsen, but no questioning if he harmed me. read more

AMAZING! Went into the building a little apprehensive feeling nervous. But as soon as I walked into the beautiful building and saw two very sweet smiling faces to greet me. I got checked in and was called back within 3 min. I had just enough time to use the restroom which was very clean and inviting. They had Lysol wipes located above the toilet. That's a huge plus for me since I'm a lady:-) Ok so I got called back by Shawna' she explained everything step by step and reassured me that everything was going to be pain free and go smoothly. I met the Dr.Remmers he was just amazing very nice professional and down to earth He gave me some laughing gas so I could start to relax. While that was going he place numbing gel on my gum at the infection site so I wouldn't feel the "pinch" feels more like pressure. He gave me the novocaine he was so gentle and fast. I really didn't feel it much. Once I was all numb and relaxed form the gas they check in me and got to work. I think from start to finish it took 20 min maybe a lil more I don't know I wasn't watching the time. I was actually really enjoying my time in that chair. I felt sooo relaxed and I just didn't feels a thing. Before I know it it was over!! I'm like really?! Ok?! I was expecting some pulling tugging and lots of discomfort. Not even an ounce of pain. They have me some Advil right away. And gave me some for home and Tylenol. Wrote me a scrip and I was good to go. I must say that was the most pleasant treatment Iv ever received!! From the initial phone call to make an appointment to the actual procedure, I was impressed with the care I received from Dr. Larsen and his staff. I am new to the DFW area so I already was fearful for having to find a new dental card provider. They all displayed a genuine concern and caring approach that made me feel at ease and comfort even in the pain I was in.
