After searching what to do near the DFW area, good ol' Yelp pulled up this place. Our $18, 15-minute Uber ride from our DFW airport hotel was well worth it. THE MALL: Experiencing this type of "mall" was a first for me. It's laid out like an actual town square like its name implies, with pedestrian-friendly access, relaxing parks, movie theaters, shops, restaurants, a post office and even a hotel. There are no department, big box, or luxury stores. PARKING: Parking is free and available in garages or stalls that line the front of almost every business. OVERALL: Nice tenant list, fun area to be in if you're stuck at the DFW airport overnight. read more

I happened upon this area a couple of years ago and thought the idea was quaint---a "real" incorporated town including an authentic looking (and functioning) town hall that overlooks a park of fountains and open spaces. But, the shopping is the key here. Most of the stores are typical mall fare: Eddie Bauer, Barnes & Noble, Gap, Williams-Sonoma, etc. with a few a higher end shops like Antrhopologie, Michael Kors, Kendra Scott, and the real reason I came here: SUNDANCE!!!!! Whole Earth Provision Company is on one of the back streets but I would seek that out as well. There's lots of dining options here which is good; you need a place to duck in and have an iced tea while braving the Texas heat. read more

I have been coming here for over a decade and I love this place. Southlake Town Square has a movie theatre, a gazebo, a post office, plenty of shops, doctor offices, a library, the courthouse, parks, restaurants and plenty of benches. There are plenty of places to park, however it does get crowded especially during the weekend. If you want some cute stationery check out Papyrus, for a quality clothing boutique check out Altar'd state, if you want budget friendly groceries check out Trader Joe's and for some delicious icecream check out Milawaukee Joe's. Southlake Town Square has expanded over the years and there is something there for everyone. read more

I've only visited this Town Square twice, but I did enjoy the scenery and the few stores we were able to visit. It was still pretty hot out so we didn't do too much walking around, but I'd like to go again soon. Definitely want to visit Trulucks - heard great things about that restaurant. Definitely a nice place to walk, get some shopping done, and grab a bite to eat. :) read more

Brandy Melville is such a cool store to be in but i had a bad experience there. The clothes are my favorite but i am always iffy about buying them online even though i end up doing that occasionally, so i was excited to see that Southlake had a Brandy Melville just built so i went there and was greeted by the worlds rudest employee, i felt her stank face looking at me 24/7. I could tell this girl was trying to be rude, she was blonde, had a nose hump, i think a nose piercing with a hoop, and she was wearing overalls. The rest of the employees were super sweet but this girl had a vendetta against me as soon as i walked in, she had the rudest tone, rolled her eyes as people came up to the register, stared at me rudely because i was trying to look at a shirt that she was next to. Brandy Melville is nice but i wish they had a nicer employee lol. read more

UPDATE: Southlake Town Square is now starting to become one of my go-to places when it comes to getting great food in the area (Del Friscos and Bonefish come to mind, which are just outside of Southlake Town Square) as well as The Apple Store. Nothing but love for all of the stores, to include the Hilton hotel. Harkins theater is nearby, and the parking garage is an easy in & out. Again, why go to Highland Park Village + Northpark when you have Southlake for all of us Tarrant County folk? read more

Southlake Town Square is a great place to stroll, shop, and eat al fresco. Relaxing green spaces interspersed throughout for when you want to take a break from shopping and eating. Only drawback is that it is all outdoors, so not so pleasant when it gets really hot or stormy. read more

My favorite spot to shop (excluding the super-pricey Dallas locals like North Park)! They actually thought to include FREE parking garages, seeing that many outdoor malls notoriously seem to be lacking in parking. The stores are many of my favorites, great for kids, as well as men and women both because of the variety. The location is close to just about anything they may be lacking in stores or services, and ... - here's a huge perk that most people don't know about... *** they actually have a DPS office in their courthouse square, and, the real beauty of this little hidden gem - YOU DONT HAVE TO WAIT! I can't say that 100% for every person, but I've always been amazed and in awe that they never have lines! *** Plus, it's my excuse to hit the stores! :) ***Supplemental: I've since learned that this location is not a fully serviced DPS/DMV, but I still come here (wait-free!) to register my car each year. For shopping, dining, and simply loving life. The area suddenly reminds you of vibrant urban streets. It's a faux public place. This incarnation of shopping is not going to put Northpark out of business, but it's a delightful change to being inside. Sure it attracts rich people and makes them feel comfortable, nothing unhealthy about that. And of course you seem to find the bizarre outgrowth of the suburban mentality. If you can block out the two toddlers almost shanking each other while Mommy is rummaging through the Vera Bradley bags then you should be just fine. Yes invulnerable risk taking street humping teens hang out on the square spending their "trust fund" They will not bother you as long as you wear garlic and a cross. I don't mind the youthful energy lofting in the air. I enjoy the Starbucks or you can usually find me at the apple store chit chatting with Bernie, or shopping at Anthropologie thinking I am 20 again buying high waisted belts and sheer tops. Southlake Town Square is a cute outdoor shopping area with a movie theater. They have stores rangning from bookstores to pubs to jewerly stores and clothing stores. It really is nice and clean. During the holidays, they put a lot of effort in decorating and making it nice for families. The only thing they need to improve is parking and adding a couple of nice public restrooms on the property. There are too few places to go and it's always embarrassing to walk into restaurants or the Starbucks. The lines for the bathroom are so long at Starbucks. read more

I've been coming to Southlake Townsquare since I was in elementary school and I am now 18 years old. This is just a great place to shop and it's so pretty as well. To me, it's SO much better than going to a mall. They are always adding new stores, having festivals, and it's beautiful here at Christmas time. They put up lights everywhere, and they even have Santa at the gazebo during the holidays. They have a fireworks show on the Fourth of July as well. They also have great restaurants here. Mi Cocina, The Cheesecake Factory, and Cafe Express are my favorites!! I would definitely recommend coming here! read more

Fun place to do a little shopping and people watching if the temps aren't too bad. Good collection of your typical mall stores, plus some higher end places. You can prob get better prices elsewhere usually. My fav place to chillax is by the water fountain and sip on a Starbucks from Barnes & Nobles or enjoy a gelato from Piccolomondo. I visited Southlake Town Center last year and just loved it!!! What a charming shopping center with true character. It is special so don't believe the "Nah-Sayers". You will find plenty of quality shops, wonderful dining and beauty all around. Just to take a stroll around this center is fun! I like it so much that I have made reservations to go back and stay at the Hilton at this location next month for my second visit. Go! you won't be disappointed :) read more

Am I the only one who isn't going to drink the Flavor Aid and give Southlake Town Square five stars? I'm sure that my lack of enthusiasm will be credited to not living in Southlake. Go see this for yourself: Sit on the patio of Snuffer's facing Harkin movie theater on a Friday or Saturday night. Watch the overly-hormonal high school and junior high kids take over the entire development. Best birth control ever! The city should enforce loitering and curfew laws because parents drop the kids off and they run around squealing at each other and updating their Facebook status with hard-hitting news: "OMG! Chance and Buffy went into Cheesecake factory! LOLZ!" They probably shop lift out of pure boredom with the stasis of their safe suburban life ("I'm such a rebel! I stole a Juicy hoody!") I hope I was never that awkward or clueless when I was 13: "Ooh, look at me. I'm so emo." If you like spending time with adult friends, doing adult things (or you don't like kids), stay the hell away from Southlake Town Square. It is like trying to enjoy shopping, a movie or dinner and cocktails (ie, spend money, which these kids do not - compared to the adult patrons) inside Chucky Cheese. read more

Here is an update from my review 2 years ago... ok, yes, I LIVE in Southlake. ok, yes, Southlake is an extremely nice place to live, IMHO, and I am very blessed to live here. However, from the other reviews, people either dislike kids, parking garages or people with money. I don't see any more teenagers at this place than I do any other mall. Yes, when I was in high-school, we DID like to go to the mall to see friends, shop, eat and walk-around. I think what makes it different here than other faux-city centers is the mix of adult restaurants and stores, in addition to the movie theatre and the kids stores (like Zumiez) which attract kids. Second, parking is not like a mall. There are no anchor stores or main mall entrances. There are basically two big parking garages in the newer section - these are the best places to park - otherwise, there is limited street parking and lots behind the stores. But you rarely have to walk anymore than any other mall or busy store. I won't address the last problem people seem to have with this place or Southlake in general. I have seen just as many people who think they are "entitled" at the Walmart or Target in Grapevine and Keller. Here's the update: Harolds and Sharper Image are gone, as are a few other places I did mention before. Victoria's Secret has expanded and there is a new Brooks Brother store. The best thing about this area is that there ARE small unique stores (or at least stores that you don't find in every other strip mall). There are maps available on most lamp-posts that will show you where and what. My favorite places are Starbucks, Taco Diner, Brio and Snuffer's. read more

Southlake Town Square is a 'Jekyll and Hyde' kind of place. By day, it's a casual and carefree adult destination for shopping and lunch, or just the quickie errand. By night, it's transformed into kiddie wonderland. I'm choosing to rate the daytime mode. I'll admit it: I'm generally the aberrant woman who does not like to shop (I make purchases like a guy - I have a list and specific destinations and then I go there and buy what's on the list), but I do like wandering around the Town Square. What do I like about the it? Places like Williams-Sonoma, Barnes & Noble, and Crate & Barrel. Mi Cocina, Rockfish Grill, Taco Diner, Which Wich?, etc. And I like the town square concept of the place. It's nice to step outside to go from place to place as opposed to being trapped inside a dark indoor mall. Not to mention the fact that my other closest choice for shopping (besides online right here at my own desk) is Northeast Mall (yuck!). As for nighttime mode: I agree with Ryan B. If anyone with the Town Square management is reading this, you really should figure out something to do about all those kids wandering around at night. I'm not a fan of teenagers. Or children. Not too sure if I want any just yet. However, I will say that kids that are under 18 don't have many other places to go except shopping centers. They can't drink. They can't hit up clubs. So they go to Southlake Town Square. They don't bother you, and you don't bother them. It's pretty simple. I've never had any issue with the kids there. If kids want to be emo/update Facebook statuses/steal stuff just for fun, let them. It isn't negatively affecting your shopping experience, is it? Nah, didn't think so. A+ read more

Who needs a mall when you have Southlake Town Center, what's not to like about it? Food, shopping and Movie theater. My favorite this about Southlake Town Center is the ability to drive up to the stores, it's so easy to shop here. My favorite stores are the Apple Store, Chico's, James Avery, Soma, White House Black Market, Michael Kors, The Gap, William Sonoma, The container Store, Charming Charlie's and Coach. If you have never been to the Happy Hour at Truluck's you are missing out. Truluck's is a Five Star restaurant with great appetizers and Martini's. I also like the Cheesecake Factory and 5 Guys Burgers but really most all places to eat here are a great experience. Plus the courthouse is here and it's where I married my husband, Tom. I guess the only thing that ever bugs me about Southlake are the Fall Events, Art Festivals, etc..., while they are fun it's hard to go shopping there when these events are going on so you just have to plan your shopping around these fun events. I remember this place beginning the building process right before I moved away from Southlake. My how it has grown over the years! The layout is very town-square meets business centre. There are even little homes on the outskirts of it that give it a real flashback feel. Now at the same time there are a few high tech stores here, so it isn't just eye candy. They have Harkins Theatre, a gigantic Barnes and Noble, several doctors offices (for some reason?), restaurants of various kinds and levels of formality, enough fashion to make your head spin, and of course some run of the mill mall stores too. Overall if you're going to be going to the types of stores that are here, this is a nice way to shop without feeling the mall-sickness of florescent lighting. read more

I give it one star only based on the two stores I had to go to. 1. Origins - bottom line - not hospitable! When there is only ONE person in the store, you should at least greet them and ask if they need help. 2. Lucky Brand Jeans - now I love Lucky Brand stuff, but again - when you are one of two people shopping in a store with fairly expensive stuff... you need to offer them help. I made a mess looking for a size on purpose. Then later on I went to the galleria store - super nice. I will totally drive the extra 15 miles and pay the tolls just so I dont have to deal with the 12yr old jerks that work there! read more

Southlake Town Square is a nice concept done well. It is geared towards the upscale neighborhood it serves. Walking around is a pleasure, with a nice selection of restaurants to choose from. The Barnes and Nobles can't be beat. My wife and I have enjoyed many times the Cheesecake Factory, followed by a movie across the street. The parking is a challenge at times, and the beautified courtyards are small. I wish for continued expansion with a similar feel to the East, but it is mostly a one block wide experience going North and South. Not a bad deal, just smaller than I would like. I have been here many times since I moved to the area in 2003 and it has had very good growth. The area looks very nice, shops are nice (better to window shop for me though.) and they have a pretty good variety of restaurant selections for a smallish area. I go to movies here often. It is funny to comment on the amount of kids around on the weekends, though they don't bother me much. I parked on the top level of the parking garage for funsies one Saturday night when I was going to the movies with my boyfriend and there had to be 20 younger kids up there hanging out by some cars(at least old enough to drive, although some seemed younger.). I was nervous to leave my car.. but honestly I wouldn't do that at their age, so I gave hopes they wouldn't mess with it. (and they didn't.) Honestly, only being 19... I can't blame the kids for being there. And the parents honestly aren't doing anything wrong, kids aren't expected to stay at home every weekend. There are things for the kids to do at the STS too. Great area for couples or families. Seasonal celebrations are very common at the town square. Christmas brings lots of lights and decor with Santa's Village to meet the big fellow, say hi and take a picture (for a price). I know there's a great fireworks display every year on (or around) the 4th. The square supports the Carroll Southlake ISD and so there are many functions such as homecoming parade. There's a decent web site that is informative on the square's scheduling. Lots of places to eat and shop (sort of a premium list of storefronts) .... the parking is a little lackluster. While there's one large lot in the back (near the freeway) and there's a small garage as well, finding those premium spots right up near the stores requires almost a miracle to nab. I've been lucky a couple of times- other times we're walking. There are common areas that are always busy (Apple Store, Cheesecake Factory) but if you visit at non-peak times of the day you can easily find your way around the square. Don't forget the Southlake town hall also resides within the square- so you can take advantage of those facilities when necessary (car registration, library, etc.). It's smack dab in the "center" of the town square, you really can't miss it. Good luck with finding close proximity parking though! I Once saw that the square had a Texas-based drum corp drum line come through and "perform", which I thought was cool. read more

Hate to be Debbie Downer, but Southlake Town Square had some obvious flaws. Everything costs just a bit too much and there isn't a good cheap "hangout" place. All the shops are pretty upscale; perfect for your big day out, but not so much if you're just looking for something to do. Harkins is a really nice movie theater, but $8+ tickets are a bit much. Tinseltown down the street will show you the same movie for 1/2 (although midnight premieres are really fun to attend even for $8). Some nice restaurants, but only places you'll go to when PAP (parents are paying). The plaza becomes infested with teeny-boppers on weekend evening and the police put in a midnight curfew to try to get the middle schoolers to bed on time... whatever. You'll have fun as long as you bring your wallet. read more

Whats NOT to love about this place? I love it here!!!!! They have everything I like from Pottery Barn to Pier Imports to Michael Kors to Coach to many different restaurants even a movie theater!!!! I enjoy going to Campania's to have a cocktail on the roof while a band plays to shopping at many different shops to ending the night with a movie! Haven't really had any issues with parking as we park in the Parking Garage or maybe we're just one of the lucky ones to find parking. If you haven't gone here yet, you're missing out! read more

I love this shopping town center! Every time I come to visit my family back in Funky town I like to look around. It's like the domain in Austin, TX but on a larger scale. It definitely makes shopping a relaxing experience and fun. Now as for this prices of some these stores they are pretty pricey but hey you get what you pay for. Parking is pretty manageable and easy to find. There is a parking garage close to the highway. Definitely worth looking around and walk around. read more
