I really wanted to like this place, but I unfortunately will not be back... I visited 3 times; received a full set of acrylics and two fills--all with gel polish. I'm not sure what quality of materials they use, but I've never had any issues with my nails spontaneously popping off until I started going here :( I received my last fill 1 day before my vacation, and a few of my nails started to lift after day 2, then by day 3 they were falling off :( I'm originally from Phoenix and I'm used to paying 45$ for an acrylic gel fill that would last me 3 weeks... I was surprised to see a fill cost 55$ in Canonsburg for it to not last more than a week at best. I'm really disappointed... Overall not worth the cost, there are better salons out there for less $$--plus they really need to allow themselves more time between appointments to slow down when with clients... We made an appointment after reading reviews that they get busy after work and they took us back to our chairs within 5 minutes of our appointment time. I felt the quality of service for the price was absolutely worth it. I got a gel pedicure and couldn't be happier with how smooth my feet are from the callous removal, how well my nails are painted, and how soothing the massage was! I've given myself several chances to like this place (5 to be exact) and I'm disappointed each time. For the area, and price of service I definitely expected more. Maybe it's the technician I seem to always get, but shes rough, and rushes through my "SNS dip" each time. I dont go for the interaction or conversation so I dont mind that all the employees speak to each other in their native language, but when I pay for a service I expect quality results. Many times my nails have been uneven, or I can even see my natural nails on the edges where the color has not been applied. I picked out my colors and was immediately taken for my pedicure. Mike did a very good and thorough pedicure. He was gentle but removed the dead skin from bottom of feet. Massage was firm but did not hurt. Then he took me over for my SNS nails. Filed the old color off and efficiently applied my new color. He was efficient and my nails were perfect. My toes are a vibrant pink, the nails are a dim tone of the same color. I've had two experiences at this location. First was a pedicure and was fine...the second was ridiculous. I asked for tips with a dip and a ballerina shape nail. The woman doing my nails asked me 5 times what shape I wanted and then asked me to pick another shape. She complained to two other employees about it and they told her to do a coffin nail. I was willing to go with a coffin nail but then she shaped it completely at a point. She said she could do square nails...I ended up just having her cut the tips she put on down and I took them off myself. I hate leaving a bad review but if a nail salon can't do standard services then they shouldn't be offering or have anyone working that isn't qualified. First off, for being in Southpointe, I've gotta say- I expected a much nicer salon atmosphere. But oh well. So, I'm currently sitting in the salon while the nail tech is finishing up my nails. I had a reservation and a tech wasn't available. I had 3 different techs work on my nails. My cuticles were butchered and they broke skin. My nails were shortened too much and none of the nails are the same length or shape. I requested round curved nails and when the tech showed me squared nails, he was honestly shocked I asked him to round them more. My friend and I went to SouthPointe nails because Dallas Beauty Lounge was booked on the day we needed appointments. We showed up for our appointment and had to wait for over an hour to get a gel manicure, with an appointment already made and there were maybe 6 customers total in the salon. The women who did my nails commented on the condition of my nails in an negative manner, was not friendly, and did a poor job on my manicure. It's been two days since I got my nails done and three of them are already chipping off, I've never once had this issue when getting a gel manicure in the past. My friend's nail broke entirely and the paint and everything came off. Historically, for her and I gel manicures have always made our nails stronger and more durable but that was not the case with this salon. My friend liked the color she choose however there was a pile of someone else's skin at the manicure station, garbage and other people's clipped nails everywhere. It was unsanitary and not pleasant to know you are getting your nails worked on in other people's filth. I would not recommend this salon to anyone as you are charged the same prices for custom nail art in other salons and are treated like a customer not like you are doing a favor for a friend in beauty school. read more
