We've been going to this place for years, we love everyone except for two people. It started when a procedure was done to my husband without telling him it wasn't covered. It would have been nice to at least check first whether it's covered or not and let the patient know before they rendered the service. To avoid any misunderstanding, my husband just paid the amount and decided to look for a new dentist. Thinking that this was an isolated case and thought it will not happen again, my daughter and I still went back for our dental needs. When I had my regular cleaning on 8/2/22, Monica told me that my insurance didn't pay a procedure back in 8/16/21. I told her that I wasn't informed that it wasn't covered beforehand. She then said that she will check with my insurance again and will get back to me, but I never heard from her. The same month of August 2022, I received an explanation of benefits from my insurance explaining which procedure was not covered. I found out from the letter that the procedure that wasn't covered was actually the visit on 12/27/21 and not 8/16/21. I then emailed this letter to the dentist's office to give them the idea of the exact amount I need to pay. I still didn't hear from Monica after this. On 10/19/22, I received a bill through text amounting to $128.60 for service date 8/1/22, so I called my insurance to verify it because the bill I received doesn't make sense. The agent clarified everything what was paid and my co-pay. I was told that the clinic has the capability to check right away if the procedure is covered or not so they can inform the patient immediately. The agent then called Southshore Dental and had a conference call with Monica. After some clarifications what the insurance paid already, Monica told us that the bill I received through text for $128.60 was incorrect and that she will send me the correct bill. Of course, I didn't hear from her again, so I emailed her for the second time the Explanation of Benefits from my insurance with the correct amount I owe. On 1/5/23, I received a call from one of the office staff that I needed to schedule my cleaning. I told her that I wanted to settle a bill first before I do anything. She then transferred me to Monica and I spoke with her at 9:39 am. During the conversation, I reminded Monica about the issue that has been going on for months. I told her all I wanted was the hard copy of the correct bill mailed to me so I can send a check. She promised me that she will mail it to me as soon as possible. Did I get the hard copy? NOPE. My daughter's orthodontist ordered to have a tooth extracted so they can put the brackets of her braces. Since this is urgent, I didn't have the time to take her somewhere else. She had an appointment on 1/31/22 for cleaning and extraction with Southshore. While waiting for my daughter, Monica asked me to see her. She then showed me her computer and showed two more amounts that she said the insurance didn't pay. I asked her if she mailed the hard copy of the bill I requested because I didn't get it. She said she mailed it. Really? At least inform the patient beforehand that some services are not covered so we know what we need to pay to avoid surprises. She then told me that I should know my benefits. Maybe what she would like me to do was when I'm told of the services that needs to be done, I will tell my hygienist, "Oh, wait let me call my insurance or check online if it's covered or not." Isn't that her job to check and not the patient? While this discussion was transpiring, I asked her if I can clarify first with my insurance the two new amounts that I was only told that day. What she told me next really pissed me off. She said, "if you don't pay this bill now, we're NOT going to do the extraction of your daughter's tooth," while my daughter was being seen already. The audacity to tell me this, how rude! While we're having this discussion, another lady with black hair joined the conversation unsolicited. This lady talked to me in a not so nice tone already. I reiterated to her that let their patients know first what's covered or not before proceeding. She said that they usually inform their patients. Well, I said I wasn't. She then said, "look, we're sorry you were not informed, this issue has been going on for so long so just pay it and end of discussion!" I know for sure this has been going on because of an incompetent staff. I paid the amount that they said the insurance didn't cover including the co-pay for the services they did for my daughter. My last request from Monica was to send me the receipt with the breakdown of what I paid. Of course, I didn't get it and had to follow-up again after a few days. Fortunately, Beena took care of it right away and provided me what I needed that Monica can't provide me for months. My family and I will definitely not going back! read more

I won't bore you with the 3 month saga of a pain I was having since January after having to get the same filling done twice by another dentist in the area. I decided to call Southshore Dental because of their amazing reviews here on yelp, so I just wanted to add to the pile and say they are awesome and saved me FINALLY from the pain I was having when biting down on this particular tooth. Last dentist sent me to an endodontist who offered to do a root canal even though my 3-d scan and x-rays showed no indication that I needed one. After many appointments with my prior dentist about this tooth issue and no help, but continuing pain that was starting to really wear me down- it turns out my filling was too high. Why the dentist that did the filling didn't catch this after almost a dozen visits and acting mystified? I have no clue. but thank you Dr. Yazback for my first pain free day in nearly 3 months. Everyone is super friendly and helpful at this office. And I think I will ditch the old dentist and start coming here for cleanings and all future dental work. read more

Recently went here and never finished the procedure. Stacey was very arrogant and condescending towards me, and every concern I had she impulsively(like a teenage high school drop out) snapped with "then well issue a refund and you can find another dentist". If your a dentist and cant tell the difference in precision or sloppy you should choose another profession. So anyhow I lost my job over scheduling and them lying about it to me. So I walked out depressed and I posted an honest negative review. Hours later dr Patel calls to discuss it all. We come to an agreement. Next morning I get my phone spammed from dr Patel over him NOT reading my review till the next day, and calls the fucking cops to my house!! Later threatens me with a fucking lawyer over a bad review... and I am actually release the entire conversation over the phone on a youtube video soon. Just got to get around to editing. Nobody else should have to feel this way trying fix their teeth. Shouldnta fucked w me little boy. read more

Dr Patel and the staff at Southshore Dental are the reason I'm not afraid of the Dentist any longer, from the minute you enter your greeted with a genuine smile and by your name, they really know how to make you feel important and special. Dr. Patel has no BS about him he shoots it straight and cuts to the chase about what you need, the plan to get you there and they are up front about the cost which I appreciate. I always feel like Dr. Patel cares about me and he always checks in on my comfort level during my treatment! I love and value his honesty and work ethic and one of my favorite things is he doesn't care what your dental health was before he just takes you for what you are and moves forward quickly to get your dental health where it needs to be. In over 50 years of seeing dentists this is by far the BEST place to go for any type of dental work! I can actually say "I like going to the dentist". Now how many people can say that ? The staff right from the front desk to the person who checks you out are professional and considerate. Dr. Patel leads by example, he wants to be sure you understand what the procedure will involve, he talks to you during the procedure and can even read the little nuances on your face and stop and give you a break if needed. I can't say enough about this great office on West Road in Trenton! Dr. Patel and his staff are the best. I called early before office opened and the recording gave me a number to talk to the doc! He told me what to do to get my son in that morning. The office called my son multiple times to try to wake him (up all night in pain) to schedule an appt. When they couldn't get him the doc messaged me! I got ahold of him to get him in and he really liked the doctor and the office. Their prices are the most reasonable and the office is very clean. Up to date equipment and just the nicest doc and staff. There are quite a few dentist offices In my area, and I've been to a few of them. By far South Shore Dental is the best!! read more

I feel that they have my best interests in mind, and have done good work on my teeth. And, the staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I'm a new patient at Southshore, they have been absolutely amazing! I've had a lot of dental work done in the past and always dreaded shots. They started to give me the shots before doing a crown, they were over halfway done with the shots and I had not even realized they were doing the injections already. Totally painless! I had an amazing experience with this office. I actually originally found out about their Invisalign program through Facebook. This office is very flexible and the staff is great. I just completed their Invisalign program and couldn't be more happy with my results! The program took me only about 10 months and my teeth look perfect. Would 10/10 recommend! read more
