I had SW Exteriors replace 14 windows at my home. I got 4 quotes and while SW wasn't the cheapest, they weren't the most expensive either. From start to finish they were fantastic in their communication and professionalism. The type and color of windows I wanted were back ordered but they were upfront and accurate on the timeframe for their arrival when I placed my order. Once they arrived they were able to schedule my install very soon. It took them a total of 2 days to complete the entire project, including paint and cleanup. Every person I dealt with, from sales, measurement, installation and clean-up, was professional, thorough and showed up on time. Company was unable to even provide a price range for a french door 48x96 inches without sitting down and wasting an hour of our time. They claim there are too many different types of doors, etc. Well, I may not be a genius, but there has to be a price range on those doors. My advise, don't waste your time. We had new windows installed today and we are VERY excited to have them. Southwest Exteriors sent two people out to replace a sliding glass door and five other windows. They did an AMAZING job. There is hardly any touch up work to be done inside and the exterior touch up will be completed next month when they install my hardiplank siding. The two person crew worked efficiently and carefully to remove the old windows and install the new ones. So far, I am VERY impressed. The only thing keeping them from a full five stars is the fact that I had to contact them originally to find out the status of my installation after about 8 weeks and then I had to contact them again the day before the installation to confirm they were actually coming out the next day. Not a big deal, but they stressed communication up front and so far I have had to initiate contact. Oh well, I would still recommend them though! read more

I called Southwest Exteriors because my house siding required replavement. I was able to get an appointment right away. And what is even better is that they stuck to the estimate they originally gave me. They just did a great job and I am very happy with them. The installation crew explained what they were doing every step of the way and even did a nice job of siding and around a dog door. When they finished, just about every piece of debris and nails were cleaned up and disposed of. Should the need arise, I will use them in the future. They aren't the cheapest siding company, nor do they claim to be, but I am extremely pleased with the entire project's result and positive they provided siding that will last a long time. read more

From the day we signed contract with Eric, my experience with SW is overall a great one. Our project isn't a small one, and we finally came to the completion around Nov 2017 with our satisfactory. I recently had my garage floors coated by Southwest Exteriors. I wanted to wait to leave this review so that I could see how the floor would initially stand up to a busy family and normal wear and tear. We have a 3-car garage with a water softener unit in the corner. We elected to not move the softener, and instead had the SWE team go around it. You can't tell it wasn't moved they did such a great job. The initial meeting to get the measurements and choose some materials was quick and easy. The gentleman who came to take the measurements was friendly and very knowledgeable. I asked him all sorts of questions about what happens if you spill oil, or gas on the coatings. I've seen plenty of my neighbors' garage floor coating start to chip a year after they installed it. Well, this coating doesn't do that. It essentially bonds to the concrete and becomes part of the concrete after the process, so you can drop a hammer on it, and it won't chip. Oil, gas, paint, etc. won't harm it at all. He said if you happen to spill battery acid on it, it might affect the coating. Well, I don't have battery acid just laying around so I guess we'll be fine. The crew came in the early morning, and I completely forgot to move stuff out of the garage in preparation. They helped me move all my things out and we were ready to go in about 20-30 minutes. They used a big diamond cutter to grind the surface of the concrete and remove all of the debris, oils, dirt, etc. This is a key to the whole process, and why other coatings don't work. They were done in a few hours, and told me not to drive my vehicles back on it for at least 24 hours. That was the biggest inconvenience, if you could call that one. In a few weeks, we had a small issue in a corner lip of the concrete, and they were back out and fixing it within a day. Superb service. I would recommend Southwest Exteriors to everyone I know to get this coating. It's worth every penny! read more

I feel obligated to share my experience with Southwest Exteriors. I did not purchase windows through them, but I did have them price new windows for my home. Southwest Exteriors' first visit to my home lasted only a few minutes because the sales rep would not do a presentation without my spouse present. They were very courteous, but that should have been my first warning sign. Their second visit lasted three hours. During this visit, my wife and I were shown the Renewal by Anderson and given a presentation on why it is the best product on the market. We were given further presentations on why Southwest Exteriors are the best installers in the area and among the best in the country. This was all done very professionally and pleasantly. However, here's where I loathe Southwest Exteriors. The company showed us quotes from many of their competitors in the area, all done for the same number of windows on a house. The quotes varied within roughly 20% of one another with Southwest Exteriors coming somewhere in the middle of the pack. Well, I went and got ten (yes, ten) quotes on my house from many of those other companies, and Southwest Exteriors was roughly double the price of my median average cost per window. Only the Marvin Infinity windows came close in price, and Marvin sells a better product in my opinion. I'll repeat that so it sinks in: Southwest Exteriors was roughly double the price of most of my other quotes. For some specialty windows, they were drastically more than double the price. They will tell you the average price per window, installed, is somewhere around $1500 or $1600 as a nationwide average. They will show you their source. The problem is, I found a different source online with drastically different numbers, and in practice I found my source to be far more accurate. I find their numbers extremely misleading or at least inapplicable to San Antonio residential housing. The deceit continues because Southwest Exteriors, who prides themselves on their service, will then offer a discount that goes away as soon as the sales meeting is over. They want you to make the impulse decision to buy after they've shown you their dishonest numbers. Is this really an example of their customer service? They'll further show you how Southwest Exteriors is ranked at the top of Angie's List for customer satisfaction. They'll further show you all their competitors' rankings and how they have more C's, D's, and F's. It compelled me to join Angie's List after the sales meeting. Southwest Exteriors was still ranked #1, however I noticed their competitors were not ranked nearly as poorly as I was shown. Their data must be old. So again, I felt deceived, and especially so as the salesperson wanted me to make a decision using their data and without giving me any time to verify these things on my own. What a con. Southwest Exteriors did not leave me with a written quote. They would not separate out costs of labor vs parts so I could understand their pricing. And while they were very thorough explaining their competition's windows (specifically, their shortcomings), they did not show me the various types of installation techniques. While I'll have to trust Southwest Exterior's reputation for their finished work, do know that in my stucco home, their proposal was to cut through the home's moisture barrier and repatch it later, a technique I later found could be avoided and unnecessarily invasive. Southwest Exteriors sells Renewal by Anderson windows. I will leave it to the user to search the web for what these are and how they are different from the Anderson windows at the big box retailers. For single-hung windows, I could not discern any tangible difference other than price. The price gap is tremendous. They seem like good windows, but again, the sales presentation, followed by sales pressure, is designed to prevent a person from researching this independently and making an informed decision. I actually made Southwest Exteriors an offer for their work, which they rejected, insisting that their pricing was reasonable. I guess they find enough people who think so, but I overwhelmingly disagree. And there would be no bad blood if not for the deceitful numbers and ratings given during their presentation followed by the pressure to sign a contract immediately. Do not let them do your research for you!!! Don't let their handshake and smile develop into blind trust. Stay away, folks, or at least get several competing bids before inviting these guys into your home. read more

As of today, we are still waiting for someone to fill the nail holes and to putty the trim corners of the inside of the door, and to fix the electrical outlet outside that keeps coming loose from the wall. And to repair my neighbors fence. Today, it is October 8, and Scott Barr finally called. Granted, we were out of town 9/17 thru 10/5. But still, I feel customer service is one of their major downfalls. On 8/20 I made a payment, while there, some gentleman, I've never seen or met before, came up front from the back, and said, " Hello Mr.Cox, I'm soandso, and I'll be out to your house today to fill the nail holes myself. Is there a good time for me to be there? I said anytime after 1:30. Guess what? Nobody showed up. Today is October 10. Yesterday we met with Scott Barr, the Steward of Southwest Exteriors, he is a very nice gentleman. He listened to our concerns about the lack of communication and craftsmanship on the job performed on our house. He was very apologetic that HIS and our expectations were not met from his work crews. He also pointed out some items that were not offered to us by his Project Manager. Such as, a new house number plaque. By talking with him, you can tell he wants his customers to be happy. read more

I have installed the Renewal by Anderson Windows in two different renovation rounds. Both experiences were beyond excellent. Not only do I simply love the windows, but I enjoyed the installation process as well. Plus, all the staff that I have ever met are kind, honorable and hard-working. More importantly, three (3) years later after an issue occurred with a window, they jumped right on the problem, didn't give me attitude or grief, sent an individual out the next day to assess the situation and provided a resolution with 48 hours. Southwest Exteriors is Awesome! I wanted a door onto my patio that had the glass with enclosed blinds, and that got me there with the highest of quality. They had an insert from Provia that was exactly what I wanted, and in talking with Scott and Jim I was able to see how I could convert my existing glass panel door to exactly what I wanted. If I could I would post pictures of the final project, but needless to see my wife and I love the finished product. Never even made it to the appointment , they were too busy sending me text messages to watch a video on how best to conduct a consultation including making sure that my wife was present.... Seriously!? A second text to confirm had yet another person with a completely wrong time! I dont need a sales pitch, I want a quote for installing doors. I don't want to talk to half a dozen people... I want to have one guy come out and look at what I have and give me an honest quote! That is obviously not what they are about... too many companies these days relying on their social media, text and their slick internet page, but don't know how to actually deal face to face. Frustrating! My husband took time to be at home so we can get a quote to replace some windows. The guy came and took some measurements but refused to give my husband a quote because I wasn't there to go over the options. He said he would set a time next week for all 3 of us there to meet and go over everything. My husband and I work different shifts and its hard for us to all be able to schedule time together for a quote. He couldn't just give us some basic options so we can get an idea of the pricing. Well we have 3 other quotes scheduled for today so I guess we won't be going with Southwest Exteriors. Don't waste your time trying to get a quote from these people if your spouse isn't around. Either that or just lie and say you're the only homeowner so you can actually get somewhere with them. read more

Called this morning to set up a consultation for replacing 20 windows on my home. They have a policy that they will not book an appointment with you unless "both decision makers" are available - so in other words, unless my husband is there they don't want to meet with me? Pushed back on this in the interest of getting the consultation scheduled asap. Relayed to the receptionist that I am managing the project and would like to get a quote soonest but he held firm on the policy. Got about 10 minutes into the scheduling call before I decided to pull the plug. Policy is SUPER patronizing. I am capable of gathering the information we need to make a decision. I really cannot see how this is good for your business... the 1950s called and they want their dated mentality back. read more

Don't even know where to begin. Southwest Exteriors is a company I will FOREVER be recommending to my friends and family!!! After going through a very stressful building of a house by a terrible contractor, I was extremely cautious about hiring another company but our NEW windows were leaking since the moment they were installed. Every time we had rain, I was worried about what we would find in the new house that we had not even moved in to. Trying to get the contractor, lumber supplier and window company to help us and replace the windows, took us nowhere... it was very disappointing, not to say stressful. So we set out to interview seven different window companies to replace our new very defective windows. After all seven interviews, I felt Southwest Exteriors was the company we needed to hire. I was then worried about how much time it would take to replace them (we were already 10 months behind), how much dust and debris I would now have in the new house. I couldn't of been more mistaken! This company has an excellent team of employees/workers. From the moment you make the phone appointment, the salesperson, all the way to the touch-up person. They walk you step by step, explain everything, and they are all such nice people, caring people! After going through our build I was very skeptical. But, I couldn't have felt more reassured that everything would be ok. The windows were measured, they were ordered and then the installation was scheduled. Every time they came in to supervise, or to work, they left like nobody had every been in the house! I couldn't believe it. Now, my house looks great from the inside and from the outside. Plus the new windows are such high quality. They have lessened the noise tremendously, too. I was afraid to even come see the house after installing the new window and after the first rain. Oh goodness, I was so relieved! No water came in! I couldn't believe it. Just to share with you how wonderful these people are. After the installation, the gentleman that came to touch up the outside and the inside, not only fixed the minimum damage they had done to my walls and outside framing, but, without us asking, was so kind to take care of where the old windows had leaked before! You can probably get someone to install Hardiplank siding on your house, but I don't think you can possibly get anyone who can do it as well as Southwest Siding. Even an independent contractor I asked suggested I go with them because he had observed them do a job that he said was excellent. Southwest Exteriors worked with us every step of the way and excelled at professional work, customer service skills, and communication with us from beginning to end. I will not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. You may pay a little less but you will not get even close to as good a result. read more
