When I moved/stopped working I was able to transition my care to the doctor at the office nearest me and he was just as kind and nice as the rest of the other doctors I had come to know and love among the group that see patients at John C. Lincoln Hospital. Then I met Dr. Salehi-Rad ("Dr. Rad") at the new AKDHC Arrowhead office and he is one of the most caring, thorough, and very smart doctors that are patient-focused. I specifically told them not to cancel it because I would figure out my schedule and call back. Despite that, the appointment was cancelled without my authorization. I called again and left a message to reschedule, but no one returned my call or notified me that the appointment had been cancelled. When I finally called again, I was told I was no longer on the schedule. I asked to speak with the practice manager, was placed on hold for approximately 15 minutes, and then told she wasn't available. I ultimately had to schedule an appointment at another AKDHC location. Then, unexpectedly, the original office scheduled another appointment for me that I had never requested or authorized. This was far more than a simple scheduling mistake. The lack of communication, failure to follow my instructions, inability to reach management, and unauthorized scheduling were extremely frustrating. I have escalated the matter to AKDHC Administration and am requesting that management review what happened.

An example of his patient care is what just happened to me on my vacation to New England, when he rescued me after a Dexcom G7 BGM failed. His quick assistance and willingness to help were amazing. Here's what happened. I had packed one additional G7 for the trip. Because my current G7 got caught on clothing and was ripped off my arm, I inserted my new "spare" G7. That G7 BGM, upon insertion, had an immediate hardware failure- displaying a failed sensor; replace immediately. I had no other G7's with me. This all happened while: I was on vacation 2,800 miles away. There was a 3-hour time zone difference between Arizona and my vacation location on the East Coast. This happened at the worst of times, on a SUNDAY at 6:00 am Arizona time. Panic definitely set in. I started calling everyone. Most responses were "We are closed; call back during regular business hours, Monday through Friday." I had no other G7's with me, and Dr. Moussa's quick, remote assistance showed his genuine dedication to patient support, especially during emergencies. This level of support is truly above and beyond what most medical professionals would do, and it makes me feel deeply grateful. I ended in emergency a few days later and was taken care of. After such a failure from Dr. Singh, I canceled my appointment and requested my ultrasound test to be posted on my portal and sent to my PCP. His office refused. I filed a complaint with BBB and I am going to file a complaint with the AZ Medical Board and my insurance company. Such behavior put my health and my life at risk not his!

I want to recognize someone that was extraordinary and went out of his way to help me. I will NEVER forget Mike Kenney-in security! I had just found out my father was having emergency surgery. I raced to the hospital. My dad was waiting in a room at the er. He was going to Pre Op. Mr. Kenney hustled me back to the room-and I was sad to see the bed was gone. He had been taken to pre op. Mr. Kenney could tell I was upset bc I didn't get to see my elderly dad before he went to emergency surgery. He quickly advised me the fastest way to see him. I know this doesn't seem like a lot-but I am forever grateful bc I got to spend time with him right before surgery. I was also there to support my mom who was very worried. If it weren't for Mike-I wouldn't have been there for my mom or got to hug my dad. I am forever grateful. He didn't have to go out of his way to help me. Whomever had the not so brilliant idea of making this hospital bigger without addressing the…read morealready major parking problems 10x worse! There is no valet on weekends or evenings. If you plan to park in the garage during these times, plan on walking to the front of the hospital in the high temperatures just to get to patient rooms. (The walk to the front is pretty long in the heat) Anyone with 2 functioning brain cells would have knocked down the medical building beside the hospital and built a parking garage there. Imagine that good idea!! Better planning and more intelligent thought might have made an already chaotic parking situation better instead of worse!
