Another major downside is the noise level, which at times can be pretty loud as everything kind of echos throughout. There is a very small quiet space on the far east side of the building but with mainly reading chairs, not an ideal place to work if you need a table. If you intend to get some work done here, make sure you have noise cancelling headphones. The perks are the location and a very large parking lot.

I have never found the staff to be very friendly or helpful. No one has ever offered assistance to find anything and when I have asked questions, I felt like I was imposing. The majority of programming seems to be specifically for children. I commend them for that, but I would also love to see that same effort being put into adult and community program offerings.

Multiple floors of rows and rows of books. Lots of rooms for various purposes. Plenty of bathrooms on all floors. And also a lot of options like chairs, couches, and benches to sit on. The outside has a simple architectural design but shoddy landscaping. The inside has tall, peaked ceilings; tall, thick display shelves; and an old-time check-out counter with spiraled wooden rails. The sad thing about this library is that there are hardly any books. I walked down aisle upon aisle of half-stocked or one-third stocked shelves. I even saw entirely empty shelves, lots of them. The books that are there outdated or plain out boring. The multi-media check-out section barely exists. It broke my heart to be in this place. I went around 5p, when a bunch of bustling low-income kids were hanging out. All of them were waiting to sit at one of the many computer terminals. I'm glad Hilltop has lots of computer stations, but I don't want the library to become a place to go just for free internet service. I did see a large room where homework help was happening. There were a few tutors milling around but only about two students, one of them middle-aged. The staff was friendly enough. There was a security guard at the front basically making sure the kids walked instead of ran. There were plenty of people behind the counters. No one bugged me while I looked around. At check-out, the woman who was manning my line was curt a bit impatient with the semi-annoying family in front of me. I could tell she'd had a long day, and this place is probably a bit disheartening to work at, so I can't hold it against her. The staff was doing its best, but they don't have a lot to work with. The surrounding neighborhood is rundown. The fact that there was a guard on duty and that the multi-media reserves are held behind the counter alerted me that the Hilltop branch has seen its share of trouble. Hopefully the city library system can put more effort into the Hilltop branch. The residents there were definitely using the facility. The place was packed, especially with kids. But there wasn't a whole lot to take home.

I am a bit…read morebiased, as I don't know how I ever lived without a library within walking-distance from my house, but I've yet to be disappointed by this branch. Many of the reasons why this library is so great stem from our great library system as a whole; making any request online and having materials shipped to the location of your choice, a diverse selection of materials, and friendly and helpful staff. This branch does not have enough computers to meet the needs of the visitors. As mentioned in a previous review, this has more to do with the lack of internet access for many patrons than it does for the library itself. I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes for a computer though, as I don't have a printer at home and sometimes use the library for its (fantastic) 10 cent printing. I don't have kids, so I don't know much about the offerings for anyone under the age of 18. It does appear that they have a really nice kids area, as well as community rooms for after school homework assistance. There are many stacks of books and a HUGE selection of audiobooks to peruse at any given time. They lose some points for their miniscule selection of music, but they make up for that with a bigger selection of movies and a whole wall of 'new' books. To be honest, it's easier to just order anything that you want online and pick it up when it arrives. This library is teeming with life. If you can't handle the youths loitering in the parking lot, or the snarky adolescents using the computers , then perhaps a drive to the downtown location would serve you better.

In the meantime they are currently open via a walk-up window. If you head up to the front of the building, the window to the right of the main doors is where you can go to pick up materials. They've done a nice job of using the glass windows of the entrance to the left of this window to display some of their offerings, including DVDs and grab and go book bundles, like you would usually see on display inside, including seasonally themed items and new items. Staff is friendly and helpful. The area is very walkable or you can use the small parking lot behind the building or the absolutely adorable READ bike rack back there! It's also located adjacent to Miller Park, which is newly renovated, so it makes a great double visit to play and pick up/drop off library materials.

I found them both available at the Lane Rd branch. Cool. I arranged my errands so that I could pick up the books right after it opened. Unfortunately, I didn't find them on the shelves, but a wonderful librarian located one for me, and called the Miller Park branch to put a hold on the other. I went right over to pick it up. The librarians at both branches were very nice and helpful, and I'm glad I got to visit two locations that were new-to-me. Both small with exemplary service.

After about 3 hours I began to have an asthmatic reaction breathing in the air. All the paint jobs cannot cover up what's underneath that paint! I really think the building needs to be inspected. I will give the staff high praise for their helpfulness. But for the sake of my health I will stay away from this building.

Opened since 2018, it remains very clean and well-kept…read more It has two floors, with most of the children's books and activities on the first level, and adult books and study spaces on the second level. This helps separate the noise originating in the child area from those looking for more of a quieter space upstairs. It has 11 different independent study rooms that can be reserved, with most intended for 2-4 people. They can be reserved ahead of time online, or in person on a tablet on the second floor near the restrooms. There is also a very large quiet study room with windows for plenty of natural light. There is a cafe on the main level for coffee and snacks. Parking is also a breeze, with a very large lot out front. All in all, this is one of my favorite branches in the Columbus Metropolitan Library system.

The kids section has a nice open space to do reading times but it is not a separate room so checking out books during a reading time could be distracting. The library is not very large and is not aesthetically pleasing. I felt like they crammed the books in to as much space as possible. The private parking lot was full as was much of the open spots around the building. A few positives are the amount of comfortable seats in this place. The staff is very friendly and there is street parking right outside the front door. It seems Grove City needs to build a bigger library for the growth of the city. I was a little shocked at how small it was. This space just felt crammed.

It is a refuge for students who are studying and researching. Meeting rooms and lecture area areas abound. Plenty of space for working on projects, and electronic resources are readily available. If you're in an alumnus, and have not been inside the library in recent years please take a look when you have a time. The improvements to the facility are incredible. It is a world class resource for the university and the students learning here.
