However, they have just recently been taken over by new management, as of January of 2022. This new management is truly all about money and not customer service. I rented a storage room again in August of 2021 under the old management. I set up my payment on automatic draft. The management team at that time were awesome and even gave me a new lock free, when the other was having issues opening. In January of 2022, a new Management team took over. everything was fine, as long as I had not called them, or they contacted me. however, in March, the new management team sent an email with payment request, alerting all renter that a $10.95 insurance charge would be applied to your renter fee. So, if you were on automatic draft, you may not notice or open this email. On March 31st a draft was attempted for storage payment. my automatic draft was denied, and I receive an email from Sherwood self-storage, telling me my draft did not go through. on that same day, I logged in the pay storage online. that is when I noticed the $10.95 cent new charge. This was April 1st. So, I paid my original fee of $99 and submitted. I email the office and let them know I was not in agreeable to the charge, and it was not in my contract. I ask to get my own or use my homeowner insurance. the text response, advise me, I will still have to pay for this month, before April 5th or I will be charged a late fee and locked out. I explain that I did not get this notice earlier enough and I would rather use my insurance carrier or my home policy. I provided documents that shows I have personal property protection already. If I had got this notice earlier, I would have definitely used my home policy. However, if I was told they can wave fee for next month, but I will still have to pay for it this month or received late fees and be locked out on the 5th. on April 3rd, after back and forth I gave up and decided, even though i paid for the month of April already, I would move out the next day on the fourth, to avoid being locked out, and paying the extra fees. I rented a U-HAUL and entered the premises. I entered entry code to enter the location. I unloaded all my belonging out of my storage unit. I was getting ready to drive out, i entered my code in the keypad and it was denied. I tried several times, and it was denied. I looked toward the office, and I saw the new management looking at me and I was looking at them. they just stood there while I was pushing the button, this is the 4th of April and not the 5th. I have already paid for the month. they were keeping me from leaving the location by denying me exist. to keep from confrontation, I call the Sherwood police. The gentlemen heard me speaking to the police, then they clear the code an allowed my code to work. I cancel the police request and left the location with my personal property. That was a rude, and degrading. I dropped by on the 5th and handed in my keys. I also cleaned out the rental. I also let them know, they can keep the rental for that month, even though I was moving out on the 4th. it was not about the money, it was the lack of customer service and working with a willing, paying customer with a good history with this company. I am very disappointed in their responses, their actions and their wiliness to even keeping all of the month's storage fees. Never go back.

Three years ago I had to move my Mother from her apartment at the Lakewood House to Foxridge Assisted Living Facility. Didn't know how much stuff" she had in that 2 bedroom apartment - but it turned out to be a lot!!! Ended up renting 2 units. The personnel at Sherwood U Storage are so friendly and helpful. I have had to go get things out of the units several times, and they are always willing and able to help. Don't think there's a better place to store your valuable, and the rates are very reasonable. The staff are very nice and responded quickly to all emails. The business is convenient to Harding University. PROTIP: If you have your own lick, you can rent a unit 24/7 at the kiosk. I can leave things uncovered and comeback months later and simply rinse it off. American Storage cares about your items as was shown by the effort made to rid the boat/RV covered open storage area of pigeons nesting. Most places are going to tell you to pay for an enclosed area or cover your item to protect it...not at American Storage! Another perk to American Storage is the owner operates the facility and monitors people coming and going.
