As a physician I did a lot of research before I committed to a physical therapist. I drove around to practices and asked for tours, visited multiple websites, asked friends--you name it! I wanted a practice that provided a supportive, hands-on approach to therapy, with all of the equipment I may need to optimize my function post surgery. As an avid dancer, yogi, swimmer and rock climber, regaining mobility, flexibility and strength were critical to my ability to continue with these sports. As a busy mother of two, I needed to be able to carry children, do laundry, and grocery shopping with ease--and as an employee, I needed to be able to perform my job without lots of time away for physical therapy. Aaron at Soverign Rehab took on my case with gusto. He personalized his approach, listening and taking into consideration my goals and interests, while providing a supportive and creative approach to my therapy. He was constantly pushing me to do more and being creative about new techniques, exercises and approaches which would allow me to meet my goals. Another aspect which was important to me was having a hands on approach. Often, patients are limited in the time they spend with the physical therapist. This is not the case at Soverign. This practice is very hands-on where stretching, massage, and working to improve mobility are big a part of every visit. They prioritize high quality care rather than having an assembly line of patients--ensuring that physical therapists only have 2-3 patients at a time so each patient gets the attention he/she needs. Aaron was constantly checking my form and making sure I was getting the most from the exercises I was doing, shifting and showing me the next one and making suggestions on how I could improve. While some physical therapy practices may have stopped pushing me when I had most of my range of motion, Soverign Rehab recognized my desire to get back as much of my range of motion and flexibility as possible. They helped me push forward and return to achieve normal movement. When I went into surgery I was scared. Scared that I would soon loose the ability to do so many of the activities that are a part of my life. My experience with Sovereign Rehabilitation was exceptional and I would highly recommend this clinic. Although my therapist was Jason Fritz, I had the opportunity to interact with each of the therapists and all were friendly and welcoming which made for a more comforting environment. I met with my therapist Jason Fritz, after having total knee replacement. During my consult it was obvious Jason was very knowledgeable and skilled in his craft. He was also very patient and comforting in helping me understand the process of rehabbing a total knee replacement after surgery. I have just completed four months of physical therapy at Sovereign Rehab in Decatur with therapist Jason Fritz. I feel very fortunate and happy about my decision to do my "rehab" there. In early May, I had broken my ankle and had undergone surgery with plates and pins being inserted. I arrived at Sovereign in early August--via Uber--wearing the "heavy boot" and rolling, painfully, on a knee-scooter. Jason was the perfect physical therapist for me. Besides his obvious skills with PT, he was compassionate, encouraging, a great listener, and always optimistic. I progressed from boot, to "rocker-bottoms" (which he helped me to find on-line), to regular shoes far faster than I had originally imagined and I gained more and more confidence that I would indeed be able to get back a good deal of the mobility I had lost with the accident, owing in large part to Jason's encouragement. I strained a calf muscle in January and began physical therapy with Keaton in February. The office staff were super helpful and quick when scheduling my first and future appointments. All staff are very friendly and professional. They really focus not only on helping you recover, but also on working with you to make sure it doesn't happen again. I walked away with a number of helpful stretches and information on running and how I can best take care of my body. All therapy programs are custom to the individual and I heard all the therapists at one point or another demonstrate the activities they prescribed and explain why the activities would help now and in the future. The whole mood of the place is positive from the greeting when you walk in, to the conversations with the therapists and the cheerful banter between patients and the staff. Referred by my physician to Sovereign after experiencing some nasty lower back pain and being diagnosed with disc inflammation. Got set up with twice-a-week appointments and was assigned to Jason as my DPT. First appointment they take plenty of time to get the picture on the problems you're experiencing and assess your current condition. From there, I was instructed on a variety of exercises and stretches to address my issue. Homework is provided and encouraged for your off days. Jason was awesome and he mixes in quite a bit of lightheartedness and dry humor to his communication of why you're feeling the way you are and why this exercise will help you get back to normal. His exercise demonstrations are legendary. And he gifted me a resistance band and coffee tumbler on my last day. Amazing. I was feeling better within 3-4 weeks! read more

Sovereign Rehab review # 2! A knee site infection and modification rendered a return to Sovereign for further PT. My former therapist had moved to a different location, but I read excellent reviews of Jason and asked for him. Boy, am I glad I did! He accepts no excuses, though he is not nearly as intimidating as that sounds. He identified a swelling issue and came up with a solution that helped a lot, plus he took the time to write some questions down for me to ask my ortho surgeon. Jason is great. He banters with Kara and Aaron, his fellow therapists, which creates a congenial and welcoming visit every time. They seem thorough and excellent, too. This is a thumbs up facility! read more

I recently finished my course of PT and had Jason Fritz as my therapist. From the very first appointment, I felt assured that my treatment was going to be exceptionable and worthwhile. Jason started out by explaining the problem using a chart and the skeletal system where my problem, was located. From there, we started 2 sessions twice a week with instruction and demonstration of the various exercises to perform at home Jason has a sincere passion for his role as a therapist, His bedside manner is professional. I can't say enough about Aaron and the staff at Sovereign Rehab. Both my children have visited for sports-related injuries and received excellent treatment. I had a running injury and had appointments for two months. They are good about explaining their overall plan for treatment, what each exercise is meant to accomplish, and things you should be doing on your own to quicken the healing process. My surgeon recommended this rehab group highly. I was impressed- Day One with Keaton's treatment. I broke my Fibula ice skating and had surgery to repair the fracture. I was healing well after 2 weeks so I was allowed to start PT. I am still not allowed to bear weight but the strength exercises that Keaton has me doing will have me up and running in no time. Jason at Sovereign was wonderful to work with! He was thorough in diagnosing my problems and made sure I was challenged enough each week to see results, but not so much that I lost motivation to come back. The office environment is friendly and collaborative. Patients regularly talk back and forth with each other and the therapists. Overall, it was a great experience. The techniques she taught me for Pelvic Floor Rehab are invaluable. I was able to see steady improvements with exercises that I can continue at home. The staff is also friendly and professional.
