I have had 3 treatments at Champalou now, Tiffany is AMAZING and so knowledgeable I will make visiting this spa part of my wellness routine. The card also had a nail technician's name on it. She left Magnolia House a few weeks after the gift certificate was purchased. Not my problem! So I called for an appointment several times & left messages. I never received a call back. I finally wrote an email and the owner told me to make an appointment online. Went to my appointment. BUT when we were done, they would not honor the gift certificate. So I had to pay for the service my husband thought was a gift. To me, a customer to the Magnolia House, the clear message was...your husband spent good money with us, but we're not honoring that gift certificate because the person who waited on you is gone. NOT a good way to treat your customers!!! Bad business ethics!!!

The first massage I got here with Joy was a XEN massage but she did more of a deep tissue. While there was a lot of pressure my back felt so much better after the fact! I received a coupon for a free massage for Christmas and I was hesitant to use it. I have a health…read morecondition that makes me extremely sensitive to touch and pressure. It causes unimaginable pain when pressure is asserted on my legs and lower back. The person that gave me the coupon had no idea about my situation. When I went in for my appointment they said it will probably take up about an hour to an hour and a half of my time because they do not rush into any of the treatments. I was fine with that as I needed a little while to relax and settle into the process. There is a warm and quiet atmosphere as soon as you walk into the foyer. This is an old house converted into a business. It has a pretty stone exterior and wood flooring inside. I was shown into a room and told to undress to my 'comfort level' and put the fluffy robe on. I was then taken upstairs to a steam room. I had a choice of vapors, one that relaxes and one that opens the sinuses. I chose the eucalyptus to open my sinuses in hopes it would improve my headaches. The steam had completely relaxed me and probably lasted half an hour (no watch or wall clock), long enough to almost put me to sleep. A light tap on the door with instructions of 'when you are ready to come downstairs' to do so. I did take my time, only because my muscles were already so relaxed I was wobbly and didn't want to take a tumble down the stairs. I was ushered into a massage room downstairs and covered with a hot sheet. I was left alone in this room for several minutes to just relax, enjoy the music and warm sheet. When the therapist returned she asked if I want a deep massage and I assured I didn't and would appreciate it greatly if she would be as light as possible and still do an effective job. She understood and proceeded with oil and asked about the pressure. Once we were on the same page I just relaxed and let go. It was a very thorough massage from several minutes on the scalp to in between the toes. I am so glad that my first massage experience was here and with these people. This day made me fall in love with massage therapy. I was to go to work in about 2 hours and I hated the thought of having to leave the house and ruin that wonderful relaxed mode I was in. All good things must come to an end.
