I moved from another pain management that was too far.. I have long term issues. I see lots specialist for lots joint damage. But i am required to see pain management for any pain treatment. So i went and was prescribed a med that didnt work. Went back for follow up. Said that didn't work.. We discussed my continued follow up with my ortho. But nothing for pain. Just sent home with no treatment plan, no follow-up.. Nothing. So what do i do now.. Go find another pain management and say I have an orthopedist to fix the orthopedic problem but I have to have you fix the pain problem. ​I mean I don't understand where to go from here. ​I was with my last pain management for 15 years before they moved to a location further from me. So this is brand new for me to start new with the doctor and they're not getting my concerns. I guess. So I don't think I'm going to be able to return because nothing is happening here there's no plan . I've been seeing Dr Garcia for about 6 months now. He has the best bed side manners of any Dr I have ever seen. He has explained  in great depth what my condition is so that I can understand. I have something called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome.  I have never heard of this, so he has educated me on it a lot. He does not give you false hope. If it's a 50/50 chance he lets you know. When it comes to blocks. He's not a pill pusher. I like that about him. He does try procedures first.  He takes all the time you need with him until you understand the procedures and process of how he's going to treat you. You will not find a better Dr. The office staff is extremely nice and helpful. Everyone always says hi and ask how  I'm doing or if I need anything I would definitely recommend Dr Garcia if you have any kind of pain. He genuinely cares for his patients. read more

Very unprofessional. My mother was scheduled twice for a back injection. The first time, I had to call the office the night before to confirm, and was then told the doctor needed to reschedule. The second time, we got to the hospital, and I was told by the hospital receptionist that the doctor was not doing procedures that day. I had two phone calls and an email from the day before confirming that he was. I drove to their office and both the ladies at the front desk were unaware that the doctor was not performing the procedures that day. To date, no one has called me to apologize or even try to reschedule the appointment. I have never dealt with a more unprofessional organization. We will never go back. read more

Can't give 'em a five star review any more. New, terribly inefficient phone system has been installed before doing a thorough review of its low quality or someone don't know how to program it! Talked with Evelyn, their new office manager as of 2015.......she tried to say how great it was and we agreed to disagree and I just gave up after she accused me of talking down to her and said she was going to "run and tell" on me! Dr. Dave is so nice and easy to talk to! His staff is great too! From the time I called to make my appointment until the day of my visit, I was so pleased! Everyone was very pleasant and professional. The office is clean and nice. And I didn't have to wait more than twenty minutes before I was called back to see the doctor. I had a pain management clinic I'd seen for years. Having Crps makes it scary to choose another doc but I was tired of the 3 hour round trip drive from me to Webster. The first visit was ok.. he changed up my meds and lowered the pain killers which is no problem.. I wanted to try something different. However when I told him that I was already taking paroxetine for crps related panic attacks and anxiety and was uncomfortable with potential complications adding amitriptyline because of the potential for serotonin syndrome, I was told it wasn't a risk.. which is not true. Every time I would ask to adjust things I was told "this is the prescribed treatment".. there is no exact prescribed treatment with crps.. there is no playbook to go by and everyone is different. Add to that their front office is in a current cluster eff. I was supposed to get an mri on my lumbar spine in November, by December no one had called and no one had gotten the pre with. I was supposed to have an mri review appt on 12/15. I called the 4 days in a row and never got a return call. I finally got through in time to cancel that appt and schedule one near my normal refill time. They told me on that call that they sent the request dec 4 so I called the mri place and was told they sent back the request for pre auth on the 6th. Keep in mind I finally got through to someone on the 15th, the day of the appt. After I got off the phone with the mri place I immediately spent 2 hours trying to get back to someone in the office. No luck. I finally got a call from the mri place on 12/24 to tell me that had an opening on jan 6th... which wouldn't help because I had new insurance as of the 1st. I had an appt in the office for 12/28 where I planned to fix this stuff. I was later called and told no one would be in the office and it would be an e visit with his pa instead of him. Then I got another call that said 3 days before to tell me my 3:30 appt would be at 1:45, the next day I got a call saying it would be at 1130, the day after that (the alleged day of the appt I got a call that said no it's tomorrow at 1245. The next day I was woken up at 8am by a call from the doc. When I asked him about the cluster eff going on... I got some vague info about a different office getting hacked and him going through high turnover in the office.. as far as me.. he sent the same mri orders back even tho I told him my insurance changed on the 1st, and when I asked about any possible changes for me I was told "this is the prescribed treatment" .... I'm done with a doctor who doesn't listen and staff who can't return a phone call... I don't care if their system got hacked in Webster, I care that over a damn near 6 week period I couldn't get 1 call back... I'm going back to my old doc... read more

After being in severe back pain from stenosis of L4&L5 for a looong time, back surgeries, pain stimulator implant and removal of same implant, my orthopedic surgeon referred me to the one-the only - Dr Eduardo Garcia. (Don't know which one to thank first!). Within moments of talking with me, (Dr. Garcia had already reviewed my medical records), he had my diagnosis and what he believed would help me to get back my quality of life. The trial of the pain pump and micro-dosing went well and I was soon getting my permanent pump. I've gone from not being able to stand for more than 15 minutes at a time to being TOTALLY pain free for days! Even when I have some pain it doesn't last very long and I can always give myself a bolus from my pump within my schedule. That schedule being set up by agreement between Dr. Garcia, Denise-the queen of the pump-and me. A Big plus is also the incredible staff. They are second to none! Dr. Garcia uses Physicans General hospital and trust me-the staff at that hospital is incredible-I could've stayed longer! If you're in chronic pain, (the clinic treats other kinds of pain, not just backs) run, don't walk, and make an appointment. Get the pain gone, or at least bearable, and the care you deserve. My experience has been awful. The procedure was not explained very well & they lied to me about the time line of events. Nothing has gone like I was told it would. My surgical area looks like he used a butcher knife & can't cut a straight line to save his life. They have "dropped the ball" while I was trying to get the pain pump so, it took several more months than it should have. The office staff is terrible about returning phone calls, patient portal messages & I have never dealt with an office that had so many problems calling in a script. I don't trust these people but, I am stuck with them. I don't know how these people stay in business. It's been f*ck up after f*ck up, I wish I never walked into this doctor office. read more

I would avoid this office at all costs! They misdiagnosed me, are very very rude the secretary & Dr. Canola! Do not go to him! Such a waste of money & time! I spent 2 hours in the waiting room! Only to get NOWHERE! And then they won't let you see a different Doctor at their office b/c "it's a conflict of interest". Space City Pain is a positive place. The Docs there are highly knowledgeable n going there for my shoulder issues was literally a treat every visit. I arrive with a grateful attitude n I'd leave laughing harder then I'd come in. The good vibes created there just added to the healing process. It started at the front desk, all warm people. Waiting room was clean. The process of sign in to doctor's table was smooth n quick. Speaking with the specialists about what bothered me was thorough. It had to be to really address the root cause of my pain. You can tell by speaking with them that all the doctors in the office are skilled. It becomes apparent as you feel yourself get better over time. Dr. Garcia, who was my dr., was precise in my diagnosis n expeditious with my treatment so I could get back to my sport. Dr. Cannella is a walking medical dictionary n if people are going to write poor reviews about him they should at least spell his name correctly n not like a brand of cooking oil... Dr. Alvarez was razor sharp as well. His familiarity with the body n awareness of all the possible triggers was helpful n reassuring. I couldn't meet everyone there but the people I did come in contact with were grand. Great job! read more

BAYTOWN OFFICE STAFF 0 STARS! DOCTOR 5 STARS! I've been a patient with the Baytown office for at least 5 years and this is not the first time the office staff has been disrespectful. But the last call today was the worst. The 'office manager/receptionist' was argumentative and I was in tears at the end of the call. All I wanted was to get in to see the Dr after an ER visit for severe back pain and sciatica Wednesday. She said he wasn't there and they wouldn't be able to schedule me for another 2 weeks. I was very surprised as most doctors want to get a patient in ASAP when this occurs. So I was begging to please check with him. Afraid that the pain meds would wear off and I would end up in the ER again. I was scolded for not keeping my appointment after receiving hip injections back in June. I called and cancelled that appointment because I had another appointment scheduled with another doctor that day. What my hip follow up a month ago had to do with this back pain and sciatica 2 days ago is beyond me. They were argumentative that day saying I should have not gone to an urgent care but the ER! I said I was at the ER! I was talking to them an hour after I was released! So that didn't go anywhere. Today's call was the same office manager lying through her teeth now saying I called them and I was laughing that day! Laughing?! Yes from disbelief at their flippant and dismissive attitude, nothing else! The deflection on her end was mind blowing! I was at the ER at 4am and got home at 7:30am with heavy pain IV meds! Hardly a joking matter! She continued to tell Me how that conversation WENT! Even said the Dr WAS there and heard me laughing! I thought she said he was GONE that day! So which is it? If the doctor was there listening why didn't he talk to me?! Surely he wasn't standing there allowing his staff to scold his patients or if I was laughing why not take over the situation and talk to me? THE LIES! Then she said she had offered me to go to the Webster office. Really? My husband was off the next day! I would have jumped on that offer! That was the point of the call to Begin with! I wanted to get in ASAP! Was I on a Jerry Springer show? I started crying at this point. I just couldn't believe the treatment this 'professional' was giving a patient. I said 'is this is just about you being right or helping a patient?' She said 'yes! It is about me being right!' What a nightmare! It's my insurance and my copays that pay their check! I finally asked that she get her manager/supervisor still in tears and she laughed and said I'm the manager. I said your supervisor. She said she would get her to call me back. Didn't happen, the bottom line you've got the keystone cops running the front desk and they're going to chase the patients away from this practice! I don't want to change doctors. It's not his fault he's got the a confrontational front office staff disrespecting patients! If this was a one time incident I would say maybe she's having a bad day but this is a pattern/cycle! This person is this way and doesn't recognize how to toxic she is! I am a 30+ year nurse and I've always put my patients needs first! There's this mentality that if they wear scrubs and present themselves as a medical professional that it makes them superior to the patient! Bullocks! Just because you wear the clothes doesn't cover up your horrible attitude and how ugly you really are inside and out. That's delusional and narcissistic! Demeaning patients and laughing at them when they are in pain is sick! 0 stars for that front desk staff. Office manager my ass! This is a glorified receptionist who was given this title to keep her from complaining when she was given more tasks and no increase in pay! That's just a title! if you really want to own it then work on your attitude first and earn the respect that title represents. I am a short time patient. To understand a clinic, there is no human communication by phone. If you need to pick a refill from the clinic you call 72 hours in advance and no guarantees that it will be there being no one to tell you it will. You rely and trust on a voicemail to hear and act on what it has instructed you to do. I assume when you're dealing with people addicted to your doctor provided prescription medications you may get a high call volume of people wanting to know that the clinic will come through with the phantom request per voicemail. Thus why it says in an emergency or when you can't get your refill (due to no communication), go to the emergency room. Now after you reach the emergency room they turn you back to the clinic in withdrawal. Make sure not to get into that place. This like any office these days is all defense protecting a doctor and his staff from having to listen to a human. read more

I've been established with this clinic since 2015. When the original Dr was overseeing the clinic everything that they claim happened with a 5 star rating. Since she left the clinic they cannot keep a permanent staff. They're testing is bogus. I know for a fact and have proof they were not representing me properly. I suffer from various types of pain. The current overseeing dr is not communicative, judgmental and has no sympathy or empathy for anyone and the degree of one's actual story condition. I went to this clinic in June 2015 with the idea I'd be properly cared for and was until May 15th, 2019. There records are inconsistent and bogus, too. I have my paperwork and proof of everything contrary to theirs. I knew I needed to leave this dr. Everything my insurance and pharmacy said they said differently. Now after trusting them for 4 years, they've put me back to square one. So... this dr and staff is untrustworthy, inadequate and falsified information in several areas. read more

I am very impressed with Dr. Garcia and the staff at Space City Pain Specialists. They are very thorough and extremely nice. I also appreciate that he really listens to what you say and asks good questions to thoroughly understand the problem before he prescribes a treatment and makes sure that you understand the risks and benefits. He will also tell you when there might be another solution. I highly recommend him, and I have heard great things about the other doctors there from my friends and family who have been treated there and highly recommended SCPS to me. read more
