I wish Dr. Azzam could be my primary care physician! I broke my back last year and was referred to Dr. Azzam's office. Being a nurse and having no experience with pain management clinics, I was very skeptical. I imagined an office where people came to easily get pain medication and a sketchy doctor. I couldn't have been more wrong about this clinic! Dr. Azzam's office and medical staff are fantastic, knowledgeable, and very caring. Funny too. Dr. Azzam himself, is not the doctor I envisioned at all. The exact opposite. He listened to my concerns and agreed that we had the same goals regarding my pain management. I am a horrible patient yet he always carefully explained things to me in the manner best suited to my personality. He took the time to understand what I was worried about. He is extremely knowledgeable and up to date with the most current therapies. I ended up having Kyphoplasty and that was a fantastic decision. I trust Dr. Azzam 100%. I cannot recommend this office enough. He is easy on the eyes as well. read more

I was denied treatment because Azzam first said people had allergies, then, after another patient said "that is an ADA violation" rather loudly - He came back out and told me he was afraid of the dog and he would not see me while I had the dog. The dog is 7 yrs old and certified for public access and safe. read more

This doctor is literally a joke, who doesn't know what bedside manner is or care. Very rude and disrespectful. I was already feeling horrible and sick, then being at odds with one ignorant doctor was one thing, but to ask for pain management to come on board and literally feel like I'm a burden. This doctor had the nerves to say if I didn't have a broken bone there was no need for me to be treated with IV meds. Minimizing my pain and Ignoring the facts hell my blood work all came back abnormal, high or just to low. Showing inflammation markers and much more. Like excuse me sir for having an Autoimmune disorder that doesn't meet your standards for pain, he better pray he don't ever feel half of the pain that I do or his love ones. Because he will reap what he sews. To minimize my pain as if it's not an issue I have a problem with that. He was rude from the moment he walked inside of my room, like I asked for him but best believe within five minutes I was letting him know his services were no longer needed. He's arrogant, and rude as hell. If you are seeking a thorough doctor, one who shows empathy and compassion this one is not it. From what I have read basically he gives injections for back pain, so anything beyond that is too much for him to comprehend let alone understand. I had the displeasure of having this doctor Mohammad azzam forced onto me in the hospital. Firstly just to considerate he is supposed to be the pain specialist here and to mange my pain. Firstly thing he does is try to tell me I'm high because I was sleeping for the first time within 48 hours in that time I'd had a pretty massive surgery on a wound the encases my entire leg. When I started to try and have a discussion with him about what my care while inpatient was going to look like and even either when I transition home. I explained a certain medication didn't work well with me and he just got angrier and angrier the whole convo also accusing me of being high because I was sleeping when he came in. I dashed him well what about your clinics how do you transition patients he says he does not prescribe pain medication in the opiate form at all. Absolutely horrible staff and Dr Azzam. After being seen one time, an mri was ordered to which an impingement reading came back. When asked to move the injection location, the staff said they would not accommodate and I needed to come in for a whole new consult. I asked to speak to the office manager to which she continue to repeat it was "office policy" and they would have to cancel my previous injection, reschedule another consult. We already had to discussed the location of pain in the initial visit. She wouldn't let me speak to the officer manager or nurse but told me I was wrong and the nurse in the room said no thoracic injections were discussed. Another week passes and I am to go in today and they cancelled my appointment without any notification and when I called to ask why they said it was due to my aggressive behavior towards staff. If I was aggressive it was due to the level of care I was receiving which was next to nothing. Seems to be a trending issue when I read other reviews. Please don't waste your time with this joke of a facility. read more

Run from these people, they do not care about you!! I had surgery & Methodist Hospital assigned them to me. Had my lower neck fused & per my Dr. orders do not get in a car to go distance for 3 weeks. They refuse to refill medication unless I come to them, no other option offered. Asked for a manager or Doctor to call me, it has been over 24 hours & still waiting for a call.... GREAT COMPANY! I went in very nervous but the staff put me at ease immediately. I wasn't rushed through the office as if my feeling and pain didn't matter. This place is the poorest excuse for a medical facility that I have ever experienced. Dr. Azzam has no idea what the hell he is doing. After I gave him 2 1/2 years of my life so he could correct the debilitating pain in my back and he sucked all the money he could from my insurance company, he told me I would need to find another doctor because he could not do anymore for me. The thing is he never did anything for me in the first place He implanted a pain stimulator in my back that was never going help me of which he should have known if he was any kind of a doctor at all . This was told to me by 2 other doctors that did know what they were doing. I have since had major back surgery and am on the way to getting my life back. Since he insists on two appointments to perform procedures is because the patient must pay for two office visits plus it gives his office the opportunity to charge the insurance companies additional unnecessary charges because he insists on getting paid twice for anesthesia, etc. Dr. Azzam should be ashamed of himself. I've only experienced this type of doctor/billing with one other pain management doctor and he is no longer in business. I requested other pain injections and he said we would have to discuss it at another appointment. So if you are concerned about the need to get back to work in a timely manner or extra medical expenses if you have a deductible then this doctor is not for you. I have had the worst luck getting help to manage my back and pain from swelling and fluid I get from Lupus all due to my age. I'm told I'm too young to be in pain(I'm 31). My first appointment with Dr. Azzam proved that to still be true. He sat down and immediately had an attitude asking why I was sent to him when a rheumatologist could handle my care and said I was too young to be in that much pain asked what I expected him to do for me... Um first off all I asked her the SAME question but I was told because my issues are more than just lupus she said I had to. I felt that she could have managed it as well so I called my insurance asking if she can do that. I was told unfortunately yes but advised pain management could only pass me to surgery if I needed it otherwise no so I booked it and stressed to him I am so tired of being the game of hot potato for dr's it's not a fun game for me! He proceeded to tell me he needs to see pain before he can treat it.. umm what are lab results? Bloodwork? X-rays? ultrasounds? Look at swelling in my feet, injured ankle or maybe just feel my back I am proof! Why would a rheumatologist send a referral if I didn't need it? He had my records. moving forward he said he can do a shot in my hip that will help everything. Great finally getting somewhere! I set the appointment then my family and I all got covid in January. I was the last one to get it which was on 1/20 did a test on the 23rd but the lab messed up the results so retest on the 25th and got a positive result on the 27th. I called and let the office know and was told he wants a negative result before he will see me. Understand 3rd test was on 1/7 and received Positive results on the 9th again. I was so upset but trying to be positive and thought maybe a false positive so I went to get my 3rd test done and thought they again same day results or blood work instead. I wasn't sure about anything but knew I had this appointment set. I am so tired of hurting and struggling to move at the end of the day and little sleep because I can't get comfortable! The ER dr told me doing another test is a waste of time said the CDC said no tests before 90 days at least I can't wait 30 more days idk what to do and he will not treat me without a negative. The dr said per CDC regulations I am clear and safe and due to my immune system I can keep showing positive results for months. So I called and wanted to make sure they knew what was going on to see what to do. I was placed on hold twice and he was okay with the situation as long as I have the letter from the dr with the 2 positive results. Not a problem it was faxed already and I have it printed. So coming to today ready for the procedure I filled ou and I'm waiting a while. All of a sudden the office manager comes up very rude telling me he would not see or treat me due to being positive and needed a negative result first. I tried to explain to her the situation because clearly communication lacked. She cut me off and said I just got the positive 2 days ago treating me like I didn't quarantine or make sure I was safe to be out. She told me once I have a negative back then I can get treatment and this is to protect other patients as most are old. I am aware of that and exactly why I pushed to get tested again even when the ER dr pushed it was a waste of time. Also if I was that big of a scare for other patient safety why would they let me wait up front for almost an hour before I was told that. He is scared of it and that's fine but say that. He was not trying to protect and patients or I should have been told no the day prior when I called and was placed on hold twice over it. Or even today. I got my money back and wanted my records but was denied and said I had to wait 10+ days per HIPPa. Um no PER HIPPA those are my records and I have every right to get them that's HIS policy so say that! I want my results from my X-ray by 2/12/21 before 5. Thanks! read more
