Definitely worth it for the price we paid for entrance. It was $10 a person with the military discount. The entire place was really interactive and had many activities designed mostly for kids, but I still enjoyed a lot of the exhibits they offered. The only downside I would caution people visiting is that there can be a lot of children running around so if that's not your thing, I'd skip on this place. The volunteers working here were amazing and the sphere presentation was very informative. Ever since I was a child, I was always interested in space exploration so this was really fun for me. Make sure to try as many activities in here as you can since it's all inclusive. read more

Decided to spend some time here since the week I am visiting Colorado Springs-it decided to rain every day. I took my Grandson here and he loved it. Interactive enough to keep his attention and fun things to do. A great learning experience. The staff very friendly. The only knock was the remote-control Mars Lander, that the kids could operate, kept glitching badly. The very young man tried his best to fix it but it was beyond fixing at this time. read more

This place was great and had a lot of different items for the kids to see. There were exhibits of rockets, astronaut food from different countries, a Mars-themed section with controllable rovers, and a lot more. I think we did it all in about an hour and a half, but we didn't get to catch the movie or video. The gift shop had some astronaut costumes that looked fun. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Note that, from the outside, the place looks huge. Once you get inside, the discover center portion is only the first floor. It is a decent size though and has tons of exhibits that are well laid-out and easy to nagivate. read more

My family was visiting Colorado Springs during Spring Break. We were looking for something interesting indoors to do while it was still too chilly go hiking. We had a military discount, so it cost our family of 4 $20 to go in. There were lots of things to look at, great photo spots, two scavenger hunts to get us all exploring and reading the plaques (all 4 of us got a color changing pencil for turning in the correct papers), and a free poster to remember the visit. There are some displays that were hands on, and some that were off limits. There were lots of sanitizer stations, and signs reminding everyone to stay 6' apart. We had no problem avoiding the other people in the building. We bought some astronaut ice cream to share in the gift shop. We were in the center for about 1.5 hours. They had demonstrations of making ice cream and also tablets that could control robots, but both had crowd limits, and we didn't want to wait. The staff was very polite and friendly in explaining the wait time. When we left there was a family waiting to go in, with someone at the front door to keep a count of the number of people inside. We wore masks the entire visit. Definitely worth a visit, not sure if my teenagers would go back for a second visit if the displays don't change often, but they both said they enjoyed the trip, and both made references to things they learned later in the day. read more

What an amazing museum!! I've lived in the Springs for 18 months and I'm really surprised no one recommended this place to me. 90% of the museum is hands on. The hands on exhibits made exploring the Space Museum, and learning about space, so amazing for the family. We easily spent 3 hours in the museum and could have stayed longer too. We had the absolute best time at the space foundation last week for our child's birthday. They provide a spacious room for the party, decorated with space themed decorations. The museum hosts were so much fun and knowledgeable, giving a fantastic tour of the solar system on the big globe projector, and letting us (even the grownups!) experience zero gravity. The astronaut relay race was fun for kids and adults alike. We loved getting to be able to explore the museum after the party. The best part was not feeling rushed or hurried, as is common with other party locations we've booked. Highly highly recommend the space foundation for birthday parties and visiting on a normal day, too! read more

Great place to visit with little ones. Small gift shop at the entrance (best prices I've seen in a gift shop so far). Then some museum pieces such as space suits, replicas of items from a space station, etc. If the you have children under the age of ten, they'll like the areas that follow. There's a few water filled tanks with training "drones" to help train astronauts how to maneuver in zero gravity. Then, for kids of all ages, there's another area where you have more interactive "rovers" or "drones" that are controlled by tablets. It's actually a pretty "cool" (is that word still used?) place for all ages. Oooo... I almost forgot, one of the best things... 3D Printer! Admission is not bad at all, especially if you're military or a veteran 50% off. All in all its a great place to spend the afternoon. We've lived here forever and didn't know about it. A fun 45-60min experience for our 4 and 3 year olds. The Mars rovers room was super fun.

Fun & Educational!!! It is not a very large space, but there is plenty there to read & see, and quite a few hands on exhibits as well for all to enjoy. Brought the kids in on a Saturday (They do provide a military discount), and took in this amazing center. From different astronaut space suits, to scaled models of rockets and the like. It was all very interesting and the kids had a great time going to each exhibit and learning something new. We sat in for a while in the Planet Room (Not sure of the exact name) but there was a gal in there showing all the different planets and explaining about their layers and what scientist thought certain things were and how many moons there were, and showing us different galaxies. She did a great job so everyone could follow and letting people ask questions, her enthusiasm was well received. Again it isn't all that big, but if you take your time and actually read all of the information that they provide you can spend a good couple of hours in here teaching your kids and hopefully yourself a few things. read more

My 7 year old son and I spent several hours here today and had a blast. He particularly loved the rover exhibit where you can drive a wireless Lego rover on planet Mars via a tablet control panel. He also really loved the foam building area where you dress up as an astronaut and let your creative imagination run wild. The remote controlled water robots were a hit as well!! I personally really enjoyed the Space on a Sphere presentation and observing the actual space exploration components that were on display at the center. The venue isn't huge, but there is a TON to keep you busy for a few hours. The cost of entry was also super reasonable. We loved it and will be back again! read more

Small but mighty! "Science On a Sphere" demos are very kid friendly and exciting. Their current exhibit is about the moon. Ok for older kids but 60 year old adults who watched the landing on the moon will be fascinated. Some gee wiz for younger kids too but not the same value. read more

Not terribly impressive if you've been to a big space center before, like to one in AL. We were in the area and it was pouring so we thought we'd try it out. Took us less than an hour and there wasn't a whole lot to see. The place was small but they utilized the space they had. We had a 2 year old with us and they had some great activities for her! (Build your own rocket, a gravity fan, and a play area for little!) We wouldn't go back, but it seems to be a great place for field trips! There were school age kids there on a field trip and they had a lot of activities set up for them. Additionally, the gift shop is great and we got a shirt, marble play set and book. The staff was friendly! Again, not something to write home about but definitely informative and great for what they have to display. read more

It's a room in the middle of nowhere dedicated to educating people on space. Is it worth it to go see? Yes. The exhibits were far more interesting than the science museum in Denver so it's a good show. Prepare to spend 45 minutes to an hour there and $10 a person. First off I want to say this place is an incredible learning center for kids and adults alike. The facility is impressive and the staff are friendly and very knowledgeable! I took my son and daughter (6 and 10) this Saturday for their Clifford the Big Red Dog Exhibit. Admission prices were reasonable- $10 for adults and $4.50 for children. The exhibit itself had so many fun props - picture a giant clifford with a slide- and was set up to teach kids basic lessons through role playing(playing fair, working together) There was plenty of props and activities to keep us busy. We also checked out the science on a sphere feature. The center is a GREAT way to spend a few hours! Highly recommended! read more

Pretty neat place. I went here last year July 2018 with my girlfriend. Although it's a little bare I wish they had more stuff to look at. A little pricey,you're better off going to Denver at the Science Musuem there. They have a mockup of the mars rover. I'm not sure I'd be back unless they add and update new things. read more

So very disappointed and we didn't even get inside. A day after a forecasted Colorado blizzard, when the roads were clear enough and safe again, this facility was closed. An employee who happened to be at a side door, explained that if the schools were closed, the space center was closed. I understand from a safety point, although a late open would have sufficed just fine, and what better time to have it open then when kids are at home all day with nothing to do?!? I was very frustrated traveling from Texas, having wasted a whole day already and having to leave the next day, when my son was soooo excited to see the space stuff. So, my husband and I were the first ever couple to have our wedding reception here, and I gotta say, it was awesome. We're both kinda nerds anyway, so this venue seemed perfect for us. Their price was super reasonable, the staff were all really nice and excited with us, and the event planner we worked with was a HUGE help. We held it in the Area 51 room, which has an almost full kitchen, with plenty of space. They rearranged the whole room for us, and it really did look pretty. Just got back from the discovery centers winter science event before they closed until January. We were very impressed! I have two boys (6 and 4) and both were thoroughly satisfied with the cool science experiments they had for the event and the art projects. They both also loved the scavenger hunt which they completed and received prize bags for. I was thinking the prize would be a sticker, but they actually gave them worksheets, stickers, tattoos, a patch, a pin, a pencil, and probably other this I'm forgetting. We loved the military discount they provided which really helped my family out! We didn't get to see the video presentation, but will next time we go for sure. Also, we were so impressed, I will probably see if I can put something together for my homeschooling group. read more
