If you have elderly parents who need special care/treatment-make sure they avoid this hospital. Horrible

OB/GYN Today I came to my 18yr Old nieces 8th month OB…read moreappointment and brought my aunt. My niece lost her mom the end of March and is expecting her first baby last of May. -I'm stationed overseas and have to return home this week so I brought my aunt with us to ensure my niece has support since her mom Is gone. Last appt we attended (2 weeks ago) the nurse that brought us back said only 1 person in the room. Baby daddy was with us for his 1st time and I told her I'd be present today as well because we just lost her mom the week before. No issues and everyone was polite. However, today when we were called back, the nurse or tech (Stephanie) said only one person and I told her I was returning overseas and she had a nasty attitude. I don't appreciate attitudes from medical professionals. In this situation it should be understood and empathy should be given. She retimed to but room to retake her blood pressure and when asked if it were high/low or good she initially ignored me and I had to reask. If management or supervisors read this please speak to thanks for your support. Medical care isn't free and we'd appreciate proper respect and care. 23yr Active Duty Army here so pretty sure I've earned some respect. Stephanie decided to send in another tech/nurse in. Her attitude is already better than Stephanie's.

My husband was taken to Wellstar Spalding ER on 7/16/26 for severe stomach pain. They performed a…read moreCT scan and did lab work. We were told that nothing showed on the CT scan or the lab work. Still in pain he was discharged home at 1200 midnight. They didn't even prescribe him any medication for pain. My husband was in pain all night and was vomiting. We returned to Wellstar Spalding that same morning at 930. They did more lab work. I asked them to perform another CT scan this time with contrast so that the visibility of specific tissues and organs would be enhance (I work in the medical field) because I knew something was badly wrong with my husband. They refused and said that the contrast wouldn't make a difference and that hospitals were experiencing a shortage of contrast. They diagnosed him with constipation and discharged him. I and my family rejected the diagnosis and demanded they did more testing; the ER staff simply told us it was definitely constipation and discharged my husband with a prescription for magnesium citrate (a laxative). Once we arrived home, my husband's pain was unbearable. I and our children took him to Atrium Navicent Hospital ER in Macon, GA. There they performed a series of test, bloodwork, and yes, a CT scan with contrast. It was found that my husband was suffering from a bowel obstruction. He was admitted and surgery was performed. Today is 7/23/26 and my husband is still in the hospital at Atrium Navicent. I am at his bedside as I type this review. I and my family will NEVER EVER go to Wellstar Spalding for anything! I pray that anyone that read my review will not go there either, they do not care about their patient! Go to Atrium Navicent in Macon!

My experience with this office has not been a positive one. It started off ok, even with the long…read morewait times and having to constantly call and ask for the same rx to be called in and being told they would call it in and never did. It took over a week one time to get a rx I needed called in. However, I overlooked that because I try to support black owned businesses. But things got worse when I booked my surgery 2months in advance. I had to pay my $1300 deductible up front because I was told they wouldn't even fully schedule the surgery unless I paid my deductible first. Then after paying for it, I never heard anything from them until 2 days prior to surgery when I called with more questions that was never addressed prior to surgery. The hospital (Southern Regional) didn't even call me until 2 days prior to surgery. They asked a bunch of questions and told me what to do the night before surgery and confirmed the surgery. Then the next day (1 day before my surgery) I was called by Dr Johnsons office and told that they had to cancel and reschedule my surgery and blamed it on the hospital making an error. I was never told what the error was and my surgery was moved from that Friday to the following Monday. Then the next day (which was supposed to be the surgery day) the hospital called telling me I had to pay $4000 out of pocket for my coinsurance, which no one told me at all over the last 2months since the surgery was scheduled. Now they expected me to come up with a portion of that money on the day of surgery and would bill me the rest. So at this point, I was highly upset at the lack of communication and unprofessionalism, and I decided to cancel the surgery altogether. Like who just has $4k laying around to dish out at the last minute. Now the problem became getting my prepaid $1300 deductible back from this office. It has been a month since I canceled the surgery and this office is refusing to refund me my money. Every time I call, I get a different lie. First, they told me 7-14 days. That time came and went, and I received nothing, and since then I keep getting told they have to speak to Dr Johnson and get back to me, but they never do. The staff keeps telling me that Dr Johnson does her own billing and that she can't speak with me because she's with a patient, but no one ever follows up or calls back. Now I am fighting for my money back and have involved my insurance company as this is now fraud. If I don't receive my money back, I will be taking them to court. I will never use this office again and I don't recommend that anyone should. This is unprofessional and wrong.

I can not recommend this office enough! All of the staff from the receptionist to the Doctor is…read moreextremely friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. The doctor gives you her complete attention as if you are her only patient and takes her time with you! I had a couple of concerns and she addresses them and has a plan for each and every one. I'm so glad I finally found such a good doctor.
