Went sun night for their special rates posted all over their site but asking about it they acted like I had a third head. First shoes they gave me had gross sticky mystery ooze on them and had to ask for different ones. Then they put us next to a huge horrible party of wasted college kids who were constantly screaming and chucking balls everywhere and really abusing the place. couldn't figure out why they put us right next to them when literally every other lane was empty. Figured it was reserved for leagues but no, they put some other regular people down at the other end. Who were also abusively chucking their balls. Seriously people, stop that crap. Wish there was someone working there to sort of keep an eye on that, its highly damaging to your lanes and to the eardrums and patience of everyone around. read more

Went here with some friends recently and had a blast. We first tackled some games and of course loved the competition and all the fun games they offer, next we hit up an escape room and it was challenging and fun, but after we beat that said let's not stop there! Went there for a ten year old boys birthday party. The group was so small we didn't do anything formal, yet the bartender/ waitress/ server ANNA treated us like we were rock stars!!!! She was super attentive with drinks, utensils. She brought out the food piping hot and in record time. There was no detail missed whatsoever. Managing a group of 6 would've taken more effort with them running around, playing games if it were not for Anna. I hope she sees this and knows how much she was appreciated. And she was extremely pleasant and patient the entire time. Only other item to add is about the food. Every single child in the group remarked that the chicken tenders were the BEST they ever had. I personally thought a chicken tender is a chicken tender. Not so. I tried a couple and they really were exceptional. The games were fun. Bowling was oversold with a long wait so we'll do that another time, but I had to leave a review because of the exceptional service we had... especially with Anna! This was place was fun for the whole family, wings and pizza are very good. My children enjoyed the mozzarella sticks and Buffalo wings. The arcade was also really a lot of fun for the kids the won a lot of tickets and brought home some prizes. My first visit here was great! I reserved two lanes (a week prior) for bowling on a Saturday night for my birthday celebration. We were able to start as soon as we arrived and check in was extremely quick and smooth! There were no parties in the lanes on either side of us so it felt a little more spacious and private especially for it being a busy Saturday night. We had a great time bowling and it was easy to set up our lanes and start the games. 4 stars only because the service at the bar was a little slow and they were out of multiple drinks that we wanted. read more

Been waiting for this place to appear on Yelp so I could leave a review. If you are looking for a one stop shop for family night or a date night here is a great option. Bowling, Escape Rooms, Arcades, Laser Tag, and bar/restaurant all in one place. I visited Sparetime on Saturday August 21st which I believe was within the first week of their opening. A friend told us they had taking over the previous Dicks Sporting Goods so it was very easy to find and of course there was ample amount of parking available. This place is huge and very modern. It's very hard to believe it use to be a Dicks. Service: outside of brief interaction with whom I assume was the bar manager, the service was great. Upon entering we were immediately greeted by an older gentleman who has a big smile on his face and he was well versed on the architectural specs of the building and what all Spare time has to offer. He was very polite and full of energy which got us excited to explore the facility. He checked our ids and gave us wristbands. The staff at the counters were also very pleasant and gave us deets on how the bowling worked. I only wish they would have told us for $5 more we could bowl in the Elite room that has its own private bar and restrooms. I would highly suggest going to that end. Once we arrived to our lanes we were immediately greeted by a young girl who brought us menus and not too long after our waitress Mya or MJ showed up to take our orders. She really went out her way to make sure we got what we needed and if something wasn't correct she got it fixed. She even brought the bar manager over when an issue with the drinks kept reoccurring. The bar manager however was very short and not accommodating at all. I could have went without speaking to him. Bowling: for 2 ppl, 60 mins, shoe rental and 1 pair of socks we paid $35. The lanes have a nice shelf to secure your shoes and the setup for the games were easy. We were hoping they would dim the lights for a cooler bowling experience but that never happened. Food/Drinks: we got the purple rain which we expected to be purple..nope it came out blue every time and by every time they had to remake (2x) it because it was just a lot of sugar. No liquor at all. When manager came out to explain why my drink was not purple he said they ran out of grenadine and the bartender didn't feel like going to another bar to get some...i can't believe he said it like it was ok! Anyways we also got bang dynamite shrimp which was popcorn shrimp and didn't really bang or dynamite but we're still good and different than your typical bowling alley food. We also got the mozzarella sticks that came with marinara sauce. They weren't bad and came out hot. I would have loved to tell you how the garlic parm wings we ordered were but the kitchen never made them, so there's that. Our friends did get their wings and the pizza and said they were both really good! I will definitely come back with the family as there is much to do here and I know what not to order. read more

went to a 30 minute escape room and what a disappointment and waste of money! We were out in 12 minutes. There were around 15 puzzles to do in the room but the escape only used 5 of them. Sound was so loud that you had to cover your ears. Clues were barely audible. It was so hot in the room it made you sick. Complained about the volume of sound and were told that the original owner had "ghosted" them and so they couldn't turn down the volume or change the clues. Ummmm...original owner was Dick's sporting goods.... Why lie? Then went to play laser tag and was told next game was an hour and a half away. For a ten minute session... no thanks. We left and went to Dave and Busters. read more

Certainly much better than Dave & Busters in the area, where most of the games are broken, but take your money anyways. Laser tag was an awesome experience at Spare Time as well. My first experience here was not a good one. I came here with a friend and we decided to sit at the bar while we waited for our lane to be ready. After about 10 minutes at the bar, we decided to wave the bartender down because he kept walking past us as if we didn't exist. He made our drinks but seemed really annoyed about it. The drinks were actually really good but when we wanted a second drink, we had to wave him down again. It was a Saturday night so it was very busy and you could tell the staff behind the bar were stressed. At one point you could hear the staff bickering with each other. After the bar, we went to play a few arcade games that were pretty fun but there were not a lot of prize options in the "Win Zone". When our lane was ready, it wasn't clean. A huge drink spill, food trash left on the table and no one came around to clean it. The only thing that made the experience decent was the free $10 game card. Flash forward to a few weeks later, my same friends son wants to go bowling. We went again on a Saturday but this time a little earlier around 7pm. This experience was completely different than the first. I wasn't ignored at the bar, I was able to get a drink quickly, our lane was clean and we had a waitress tending to our lane who was so sweet. We even stopped in the Corleones to get pizza and it was fantastic! Definitely recommend going earlier in the night on the weekends or during the week. read more

Love the entertainment this place offers- arcade & bowling are great. Glad this type of place came to Pineville as we live very close. The 3 stars is solely based on a bartender, I think his name is Steve. Myself, my husband and a couple friend of ours went there tonight & my friend is pregnant. We all ordered cocktails & she asked for a lemonade. Bartender said they were out & my friend asked if they had any mocktails... I kid you not this man responded "I'm a bartender not a babysitter" and not in a funny or nice way. My husband & his friend continued to sit at the bar awaiting our lane which kept getting delayed and Steve (or whatever his name was) was nasty all night. I understand we are in somewhat a labor crisis but Steve is D squad & I hope he finds another profession because hospitality does not seem to be his calling. read more

This is a really good place to have a weekend date night or to hang out with friends. There's sooo much to do...laser tag, escape rooms, arcade games, bowling and a mini restaurant and bar. Place doesn't close until 1:30 on the weekends so it's a great place to go to in the late evening if you're dust looking for something to do. The food was decent bar food - not bad at all. Place looks nice inside. It's pretty expensive though for what it is. It was $90 for four people to bowl. The food was just ok. The pizza was a hot mess literally. The crust is way too thin to hold the amount of sauce and cheese they put on the pizza. As soon as you pick up a slice to eat it, it all slides off! It was very difficult to eat to say the least. Cool concept but if you get the bowling bundle be aware the 1 hour clock starts 6 minutes from when you make your purchase and you cannot time...if you wait or don't finish your game in a hour your screwed. Spare Time Pineville definitely exceeded my expectations this weekend. Although we have been here several times with good experiences, their customer service and problem solving definitely made us a repeat customer for the future. We had booked their escape room Cryosleep, but when we arrived they informed us that it was unfortunately down due to technical difficulties. They initially informed us that they would refund us for the room and rebook us when it opened up again and we were available, but then offered us an alternate room at that same time with some game credits to make it up to us. This was definitely above and beyond for us and more than we hoped or expected to get. We will definitely be back. Also, as an avid escape room fan, the quality of the escape room we did instead was incredible and I cannot wait to return to complete their other rooms. read more

I was here for a leadership event. The food was initially supposed to be ready at 1:30pm. I am currently writing this at 3:30 and we still haven't received any food. They only brought I family size bowl(feeds four) of chips for a party 45! With no thongs to serve with either. Employees are very dismissive and rude. Some employees also very clearly treats people differently based on skin color. This is unacceptable behavior for a business establishment to be so disrespectful and insensitive. I don't suggest having your events here. As for SpareTime please do better how you treat your customers. read more

I took my kids here today to get some time out of the house. The prices are ridiculous. The wait times for the lanes is over 90 minutes and the prices are absurd. I spent almost $50 on cards for my kids to play in the arcade but that was quickly gone as the games cost anywhere from $2.00-$4.00 each. We were there for literally 20 minutes. Go to your neighborhood bowling alley and forget this place. read more

We enjoyed our trip here while we were in Charlotte waiting to go to Top Golf. The escape room was really cool and had great technology and features. Family in town and bored. We searched online last-minute for Laser Tag close to home and came across this place. I had forgotten all about it (I think it was supposed to open pre-pandemic but the grand opening got pushed back). Happy to see all of the options, other than Laser Tag, that would keep four kids ages 11, 8, 5 and 5 entertained. We arrived around 6:45pm on a Sunday evening and found the LT desk. Quickly signed up and paid for 2 back-to-back games (cashless only). There were a total of 9 in our group and we were joined by 6 more people. The games are only $8 and last for 15 minutes. The only drawback or "con" is that the arena is only one level. We're used to the arena at another family fun place in Huntersville that has an upstairs which gives you more hiding spots. But overall it was fun. Btw, the 2nd game consisted of just our group so the game operator asked if we wanted to still play teams or every man for himself. We chose the latter and it was actually even better than teams! We enjoyed that game more than the 1st one! After LT we ordered food (pizza, mozzarella sticks, buffalo wings, drinks -adult and kid-friendly lol). All of the food was great! It tasted much better than standard fun center food! Our server was fantastic! She was kind and attentive. Other than one of my grandsons having an issue with one of the games cheating him out of time 3 different times (the game where you thrown balls and knock down the clown thingie), we had no issues and enjoyed our first visit. Its clean, close and the games are relatively inexpensive ($1.50 per play). We'll be back to try the Escape Rooms. There's bowling available too. If you're just into fun (open) bowling it looked like it would be fun, but as a league bowler I'll stick to standard regulation bowling centers/lanes. read more

10/30/21, popped into Spare time for a drink and maybe some apps or games. I am a veteran to the restaurant industry, and was looking forward to this new place near my house. The bartender (in a bunny costume) gave us the worst service and attitude I have ever experienced in a bar. I have never seen a more "inconvenienced" bar tender when you arrive to a bar not closing for 2.5+ hours. I felt like I was at the DMV. Walked up to the entire bar dirty, sticky but not a single guest. Bar tender totally ignored us, not a hello, nothing. We waited a moment at the dirty bar, and decided to walk to the other bar, which was very crowded, so I imagine many other guests took the same rout. Returned to the empty bar and patiently waited before asking her for a bar rag to wipe down a small space so we could sit. She, instead, huffed and puffed and purposely wiped down the entire 40ft long bar top as slow as she possibly could, as we asked her questions from 5ft away and she totally ignored us again, and then acted so terribly disgusted for having to do her job. She actually told us to move out of the way so she could wipe it down. Then proceeded to take an order from a new guest one seat away from us, as she continued to decline us service. Never asked if we wanted food, never brought limes after asking twice. We intended to spend a lot more time and money here but the bar tender did not allow that to happen. Had to go out of the way to find her to close my tab while she is talking to other employees and intentionally neglecting the bar top. This place has so much potential and it's a shame that an employee can tarnish the reputation when there are so many other great things about it. Satch was very patient and catered to my daughter and her friend. They had a great time. Ana was very attentive and took great care of us as well. I went tonight as a guest for a birthday party. It was awful my niece is a celliac and the party hosts disclosed that from the beginning and asked for a pizza to be brought with gluten free crust. 30 minutes went by and the pizza did not come they kept saying it was cooking then 20 minutes later they said they had forgotten to send it and if we still wanted it. The pizza had already been paid for then another guest sitting at the bar ordered a pizza same exact thing. It was never put in and never came out. The party packages for private rooms claim to include water and soda. None of the kids had anything to drink. I got my niece a water in a togo cup at the bar. When the manager was asked for she came and said: "The party employee was supposed to be off and was called in" as if that is an guests issue or a valid excuse for the horrendous service.
