The staff was REGULARLY made aware of issues, and we heard from no one (including the Manager) until we took it to the Hilton complaint line and email. If you like trash and are accustomed to that, maybe this is for you, but we don't vibe that way. We were told "there are no other rooms," which we absolutely did not believe. As soon as there was availability in a comparable extended stay room with another non-Hilton hotel, we took it. Here are the key issues we encountered: Severe maintenance failure: The A/C unit has been continuously leaking, soaking the carpet. Despite multiple calls for maintenance, one of which was ignored and another in which they claimed the issue was "fixed", the problem recurred in less than 48 hours. The wet carpet has created an unhealthy, musty environment. Housekeeping intrusion: A housekeeper entered the room without knocking or announcing themselves while my husband was in the restroom. This is not only inappropriate but also a serious safety and privacy concern. Basic service failures: Towels that were removed to clean up the A/C leak were not replaced. It took four separate requests to finally get fresh towels and basic cleaning service. The dresser is broken, only one drawer can be used... random screws, nails, and broken cabinet/wood pieces with nails were found around the room. Noise and safety concerns: There is a tenant next door with a cat that rings a bell on the adjoining door throughout the night, disturbing my husband's rest before training and disrupting my rest during my portion of the stay. We had to order earplugs just to get some sleep. Health hazards in the bathroom: The shower has visible mold, and the handicap bench is broken off the wall, exposing raw wood and more mold where there should be tile. Unhygienic refrigerator: The refrigerator emits a horrible odor every time it's opened, even after multiple attempts to neutralize the smell with baking soda. This place is AWFUL. Have been all over the world, and this experience is my first complaint and takes the cake!

The breakfast has a very distinctive Mexican taste, which was surprising in a very good way. I normally don't trust Mexican food in Texas only because it tends to be Tex-Mex, but this genuinely reminded me of home in Arizona. I wouldn't say the selection is huge, but the coffee is fresh, and the breakfast room is a great size for a lot of people. Didn't get to use the pool since it rained all throughout the weekend and week before my departure. The gym is a decent size and there always seem to be people working out. Laundry room is kind of lacking in the sense that this is a large hotel, yet there are only two washers when dryers. On one hand, it's nice that it's free to use. But on the other, extremely annoying when someone puts their laundry in and leaves it all day. Also convenient for anyone wondering is that this is a pet friendly hotel. I think Grubhub has a free delivery promo if you order while you're staying here (you can find a QR code on the elevator walls). This location is great for anyone heading to Lackland AFB or SeaWorld, as they're both less than ten minutes away. The rooms come with a kitchenette (with dishes) and small bathroom. No complaints with the kitchen itself but the bathroom had some issues. The shower door kept coming off the track, the toilet handle is kind of broken and you have to jiggle it, and the hand towel rack randomly popped off the wall from being loose (which easily goes back into the wall but is a little inconvenient). We booked a king bedroom suite. Love the separate bedroom from the living room. Clutch if you're traveling with kids. The decor was beautiful. Very clean, simple and modern. Our room had a full kitchen with fridge, stovetop, dishwasher, microwave, plates, bowls, utensils, etc. The breakfasts were good. Always a type of eggs, a breakfast meat (bacon, sausage links or patties), fresh fruit (sometimes strawberries/blueberries), yogurt, oatmeal, homemade waffles, biscuits (sometimes and gravy), cereals, pastries, breads, etc. Some weekday nights they had some food at night with beer and wine. We didn't partake but it is a nice option. There is an outdoor pool on the 3rd floor, a fitness room with dumbbells, a weight machine, treadmill, bike and elliptical. All the employees we had interaction with were nice. Small snags: 1. Check in was at 4pm. We arrived at 5pm and our room wasn't ready. After waiting for a bit, they were able to get us in the room and apologized for the inconvenience. 2. We had to get new key cards for our room a number of times. For some reason, they would simply stop working. Not a short trek from the 6th floor back to the lobby... slightly annoying. Main negative: our last morning there, we were at breakfast and there were 2 homeless people eating there. The female one snagged a ton more food before leaving. I followed them and watched them sneak back out a side door that was ajar with a ROCK. Now, I'm not trying to be a heartless a-hole but I don't think having locked doors held open so anyone can waltz in, is safe. I won't go into details but to should suffice to say that there were several unfortunate mishaps in a row (one leading to the next). Life is not perfect, "stuff" happens. In general, it is not so much about what happens to you but rather how you handle it. At this Marriott, the manager handled things exceptionally well. My thanks to Mr. Ray Turpin who turned an unfortunate and unusual negative experience into a positive one. Mr. Turpin was sincere, professional, warm, understanding, and exactly the sort of man who was needed to stay cool under adversity. Mr. Turpin gave us a sincere apology (written in fact!) and simply 'made things right'. We will most definitely be back and hope to greet Mr. Turpin personally on our next stay in San Antonio TX. An excellent hotel experience…read more After our apartment building burned down last Friday, my fiancé and I ended up at the Hilton on extremely short notice. They managed not only to book us for several nights, but allowed our cat to stay as well. We were thrilled by their pet-friendly policy and our cat, despite the scary circumstances, was actually quite comfortable in the space as well. I only mention this because he is not very good with big changes, but took to the hotel room fairly quickly. The room we stayed in was pretty spacious with a large privacy curtain to separate the comfortable beds from the living area. A microwave, sink, cups, plates, and utensils are available to use so you can have a proper meal inside your room should you decide to stay in. Though we ourselves did not use it this time around, the gym looked really nice with tons of different equipment and machines to use. It's also worth noting that every time we went downstairs we saw a security guard on duty in the parking lot or inside the hotel itself, so we felt an extra sense of security during our stay. Breakfast is included with your stay, and my fiancé and I agree that it is the best hotel breakfast we've ever had. They have a hot breakfast and yogurt bar, coffee and cereal bar, fresh fruit, breads, toppings and jam, and waffle makers in both mini size and jumbo Texas shapes. I've listed a few of the delicious things we had in the pictures below. They also have a whole bunch of pantry, refrigerated, and frozen items downstairs at the register so you can pick up a snack or tv dinner to cook in your room. Though the circumstances that brought us to the Hilton were beyond terrible, our stay was wonderful. We're so incredibly grateful to the kind and efficient staff for helping us in our plight and would highly recommend this hotel to those looking in the area for options, especially those with furbabies.
