The customer service was the best we've ever experienced & we always choose Marriott for our stays. Just to mention a few of these awesome employees: Stephanie the bartender, Erma & Yvonne, Hope the breakfast cook, the friendly young maintenance man (Hispanic, young, longish hair) who I unfortunately didn't get his name, also Daniel & Julie at the front desk. The outdoor heated pool was our favorite part, always the perfect temperature, even in February! Awesome gym, very clean. Nice hot complimentary breakfast every morning with very friendly attendants. People shouldn't write negative reviews just because of the highway construction because that is completely out of the hotel's control! Love that it's pet friendly & the staff treats you like family. I highly recommend this Marriott! A few constructive criticisms: add doors on the showers, update the pillows, & keep the coffee station open later lol! Other than that everything was perfect & it felt like home away from home. Trip typeVacation · Family Hotel highlightsKid-friendly Nearby activitiesRestaurants, golf course, horse race track. For 7 days, this place really wasn't bad at all. But, it wasn't great either. Picture this - IHG buys out a rundown hotel that was on its last leg with plans to refurbish, rebuild, remodel, and renew. Now fast forward time a good amount, but not all the way to renewal completion... that's precisely where this cozy hotel is at currently. Service was fantastic, front desk was very friendly and accommodating, check in/check out process was stress free, and breakfast was decent (not a 5 star hotel breakfast, but it was hot and provided what you needed). Their breakfast had the generic microwaved eggs (not freshly made), sausages or bacon depending on the days, cereal, fruits, milk, orange juice, coffee, etc... you get it, the essentials to enjoy a warm breakfast meal. May not be super delicious, but it'll do the job and saved $$ for our family. Pool is shallow for kids' safety (3-4'), big enough to enjoy, pole w/net is available to clean the pool yourself prior to use, and jacuzzi was out of service our entire stay (bummer). Parking was free, easy to access, and surrounded the hotel. Our room was spacious with 2 queen beds, sofabed, mini fridge, microwave, and standard bathtub. Did everything work? Yes, absolutely. Is it modernized and does the room look incredible? Nope. Does it seem as if the place is trying to look like other IHG brothers and sisters with much more modernized amenities? Certainly. Just don't count on it for a long time. Internet has snail slow speed. It'll work for your phone but don't count on using it for remote work on your work laptop. For this reason alone I wouldn't return here. If you don't have Mobile Hotspot, don't count on working remotely. TV cable and WiFi speed are limited, slow, behind, and very outdated. Great hotel if you just need the bare minimum essentials. Traveling for work? Skip this spot. Have family? Decent for the price but bit of a drive from San Antonio's central life.

Had an ice storm in this area so they had a Cheddar's in their same lot and a Hooters we could walk to. I checked into the hotel yesterday around 5 p.m. and was initially greeted by a woman at the front…read moredesk who, while a bit slow, was genuinely helpful and kind. I appreciated her assistance and felt optimistic about my stay. Unfortunately, my experience today was the complete opposite. I returned around noon and found myself and another guest waiting at the front desk with no staff in sight--for at least 10 minutes. During that time, the hotel phone was ringing nonstop, and the attendant had even left their cell phone unattended on the counter. It was a confusing and unprofessional scene. She was gone long enough that I actually looked into the back office and on the floor behind the counter bc I was worried for her. When the front desk employee finally returned, there was no greeting, no apology for the wait--just a cold, dismissive attitude. I had grabbed a snack and asked to check out, and instead of assisting me, she acted as if I was bothering her. She pointed me to the self-checkout machine and gave me an attitude when I mentioned it wasn't working. Rather than stepping in to help, she insisted on walking me through how to use the broken machine without a barcode instead of just handling the checkout herself. It was as if she felt I was bothering her and I was the lazy one. When I tried to explain that I'd tried the machine, she cut me off, nearly raising her voice as if to say "didn't I just tell you..." The whole ordeal was crazy. Had she not leveled her tone, I can 100% how that conversation would've gone downhill. Her tone and demeanor throughout the interaction were unprofessional and made me feel like an inconvenience rather than a guest. Even after the exchange, there was no "thank you," no "have a good day," just continued dismissiveness. I remained respectful, but the lack of basic customer service and courtesy was disappointing. A good hotel experience is built on consistent, welcoming service--and this inconsistency definitely left a negative impression. I stay at Hilton often, but this woman at this location will be remembered for how nasty she was. Update: After sitting on this a little longer, I decided to call in and actually speak w leadership. Imagine my surprise to find out that the rude employee is a front desk supervisor. Wow! What a poor example!!

I had wanted a hotel that was at least 3 stars, free breakfast, free wifi and a fitness center. It was a little out of my way, but still in the city limits. It was close to Pat Booker, so you can pretty much get whatever you need. The room was a 1 bedroom apartment. It had a full fridge and stove. You can cook your meals if you wanted. There was a living room with a fold out bed and two TVs. One was in the living room and one was in the bedroom. There was a nice balcony as a well. The bed was a little firm but I slept ok on it. I have stayed in hotel rooms that did not even come close to this place. I was quite impressed. The fitness center was right off the main lobby. They had a few elipticals. There was one weigh machine; but, it was broken. It would have been nice to have a better equipped fitness center. I have an Anytime Fitness membership, so I ducked out to work out there. The breakfast was good. There were eggs, sausage and waffles you could make. It saved me a trip going to get breakfast in the morning. This was a great value and I would definitely stay here again. To the folks who wrote negative reviews, you might want to get some glasses because this place was fab.I travel all the time for work and this place is much nicer than some of the Business hotels I have stayed at.

So, this is what $68 a night gets you. Check in was pleasant; only one of my key cards actually worked per usual. Roll up to the north quadrant of the hotel and notice a Scion with it's engine out sitting in front of the bumper #classy. Upon entering the room decent smell although dated digs. Folks, entirely non smoking should mean no cherry burns in my comforter right? Yeah, collecting evidence like Sherlock Holmes. Still a smoker myself but was respectful and went out on the balcony. I like old school hotels like this for smoking convenience versus going down an elevator every few hours. But wait; there's more!! Curious but random water stain on the desk. Travel size something leftover inside the closet on the shelf that the cleaning staff missed. Also, said closet had no bar for us to hang our clothes on. On the second day with the AC spinning around a random sliced cheese wrapper? Biggest nod in the star rating for this review the hotel was quiet for this visit.
