This is a great race in the Netherlands that is very inexpensive. 13 euro for the half and 22 euro for the full marathon. This race is IAAF sanctioned. This is a race you will definitely want to do your personal best. 3,000 euro in prize money and the Dutch are quite competitive. The scenery is beautiful and reminds me of pictures out of children's story books about quaint little villages and flocks of sheep along the pastures. The course is not marked as well as courses in the US so make sure to follow motorcade if you are a fast runner or follow the other runners. They start at the Spark track and run through the countryside back to the finish line at the track. Very lively but damp cold since it is held in December. The Dutch speak English very well; however, the race is commentated all in Dutch, so make sure you understand a little if you are foreign speaker. Gelukkig lopen! read more
