I am happy with the final results, but it took a lot of work to get there. I ended up contacting the National telephone line (I was on hold for 20 minutes). Then had the service rep reroute my modem return to a different office because I didn't trust sending the modem certified mail back to Kirksville... because I'm pretty sure nobody actually works there to sign for a package. I mailed the modem to Idaho and it was successfully accepted and my service was finally disconnected. read more

we have been CableOne/Sparklight since 1984. The service and tech assistance has been great over the years. But lately, our reception has been breaking up, especially on the network channels out of Iowa and Kirksville. a tech told us this was because Sparklight was receiving these channels thru a third party and then sending them to our cable box. He said they are working on the problem, but we have not seen progress in the past three months. really starting to consider streaming. read more

Had a technician come out to check our internet. Told us it was a cable. Didn't work and technician left. Came back out left a box with a modem and the wrong power supply. Tech support said he would come back out and hook it up and make sure it worked. He came back left a cord with my 11 year old and left. We are beyond frustrated. We would like a credit for time without internet and an apology from sparklight. Our issue was not addressed or explained. We still don't have internet. Told us someone would contact us in 3 days. We have worked with sparklight for home internet for almost 3 years. The person that org. came out the tech. was excellent. My only complaint is when a new providered started laying lines sparklight was charging us $120mn. with modem box and internet 300mgh.unlimited, then they ran a special new pricing for $82 with tax and box and everything, but never contacted us. We were online one day and noticed the new pricing that we were not rec. We called and they said if we had not called they would have never lowered the price/our bill. We are highly loyal to our providers for everything, but we expected more of sparklight like a call or email to say you have been with us 2 plus years almost 3 so to provide our loyal customers meaning we don't want you to go with the new service that is cheaper with another company we want to keep you as a customer we are extending a lower offer. For now we love our service, but I have a elephant memory meaning I would not hesitate to go with the other company. I think this was shady and dishonest that they did not contact us in some way, they could have won a lot of points with many customers that I am sure have jumped over to the new company. We tend to stay with 1 company for 17 plus years or more if we never move. I felt they were not honest and upfront, the lady was like well we have it online, well I have autopay so am not online on their site and I expect company's to be honest, bc it would make we begin to wonder whatelse they are not honest about. Sorry I grew up where customer service and honest and handshake and mans word was everything. For now we are not moving to another company, but the other one promoises -0-increase for life=so only time will tell. Honesty goes a long way-no matter what era. read more

Ive had a horrible experience with Cable One. They never give near advertised speeds, and if you ever go slightly over your allotted bandwidth they force you into a much more expensive plan. read more

Pretty mad with Cable One right now. I paid online and scheduled an appointment (farther out than I would have liked). They said they would come between 3 and 5 P.M (2 hour time range is idiotic). I waited for an hour and a half on Thursday June 5th, unable to do the homework I needed to do waiting for them, and then they came after I had left for class. I called to reschedule, and also gave an updated phone number because they had the wrong one. Brenda forgot to change the number in the system so when they wanted to come, at my rescheduled time on Monday June 8th between 1 and 3, they couldn't get a hold of me and left. After 2 hours of waiting, I called and talked to Brenda again, who admitted her mistake of not putting in the correct phone number. She says she will reenter me into the system, but she puts me down for all-day availability, which is not okay because I'm taking two 2 - hour long grad classes. I tell her the times I am unavailable, and she acknowledges me. She says that she is going to call the dispatchers, and they should call soon. An hour later, after no call, I call again. Different woman. I explain the situation. She says Brenda made a mistake again because she shouldn't have put me down for all day availability, and she says she cannot go in and change that. I leave for my night class. Then I get a call from dispatch saying they want to come. I am in class, so that does not work. He says they can't fit me in. I get a call from the second woman I talked to, saying the same thing and that the next available time is in another full week. No one was willing to do anything for me. Fuck cable one. read more

Moving business service from existing location to new location. Spoke with scheduling on Tuesday which confirmed the coming Friday morning between 10-12 for activation at new location. Called customer service at 1:15 to see where tech was. Customer service confirmed my original appointment had been for Friday but had been rescheduled for the following Monday. I had moved and set up all the equipment on Thursday for the Friday activation. There was NO notification from Cableone regarding rescheduling. Needless to say, my business operations were halted on Friday and certainly will be hindered this coming Monday IF they even bother to hook up the service then. I was told they informed their supervisor so this issue could be looked into. I told them that does not help me in the least at the moment. They cheerfully said "we will see you Monday". read more
