My entire family came to celebrate my daughter-law's birthday. Our family includes two small children. They had no kids menus or crayons like most restaurants. And , to top it off they didn't have milk. If they cannot provide for kids then they should let you know they are not kid friendly. And they certainly are not. read more

We had a lovely meal here this evening. The clam chowder was amazing. The deep fried shrimp and salmon were great. Service was friendly and efficient. Ambience was quiet and relaxed. Two negatives, the offered bread, while tasty, was a small portion. We were also charged a 4% service charge, assume for a credit card fee but it wasn't mentioned before it was charged. Mediocre is the word here ... service was outstanding, execution from the bar was superb, but the meal was just so-so. The Walleye was anything but fresh and honestly the creme brûlée was not the wow we expected. I am sure it was just an off night in the kitchen but I am not sure we would try again. read more

The food here is mid. That's the best way to describe it. My problem with Sparkling Waters is the food is sooo high in price, when I can make the equivalent at my house. I don't want to get dressed up fancy and make a reservation just to eat food I can make for $30 less. Customer service and ambience is good here though, if that's what you're looking for. We had dinner here on our last day in Bemidji. Go there early since the locals usually get the booths. At 5PM, we just walked across the street to get a table. The upstairs area was not open since the AC was malfunctioning upstairs. Afterwards, I ordered the seafood platter in cast iron pot. My wife had almond crusted walleye which was pretty good. The sides were a bit lacking since all I got was a corn on cob. My wife had more on her plate. Overall, I though my dish was cooked a bit much with butter and scallops were a bit chewy rather than tender. My wife's platter was better in my opinion. read more

We had a wonderful Valentine's dinner. The addition of live music was perfect. The ambiance of a fireplace, nice decorations, all staff in bright red or pink, all combined to make it a very special evening. They had a special menu. We had a nice starter of green salad, curry chicken soup. The entrée of prime rib was the best! The seafood plate had crab cakes, small lobster, two shrimp Diablo, two breaded shrimp. We went to Bemidji, Mn. To enjoy the beautiful lakes and find a good restaurant. Sparkling Waters was just the right flavors we were looking for. Tired just eating deep fat fried Waleye Fish and wanted good old pan cooked Waleye Fish, as I remembered as a kid camping and fishing around here. This restaurant was delicious, perfectly cooked food and vegetables. The Bread pudding was to die for. What a great flavor! My wife and I will be back again. I wish I would have taken a picture. I had the Fried Walleye and friends had the Walleye Ala Meuniere and Filet. We all loved our meals, the filet was cooked medium rare and perfect, my wallet fillet was so large, I couldn't eat it all, and excellent, I also had the clam chowder instead of the salad and it was the best clam chowder I have ever had. Rich and creamy! The restaurant is super clean, great atmosphere and you have a great view of Lake Bemidji depending on where your sitting. Prices are comparable to other higher end restaurants. Great wine selection and bar also. Highly recommend it. Also, dress up, dress down, all is okay! read more

My family and friends celebrated my mom's birthday here yesterday (100 y/o!); we had to find a place that would/could accommodate 40 folks and still have ambience. Sparkling Waters delivered on all counts and the food/service was excellent! Reva (owner/co-owner) took care of everything. I actually ate there before the event (not being from Bemidji for a long time), hoping for the best, and totally enjoyed the meal/service. Sparkling Waters is a refreshing addition to the Bemidji area. It is classier than anything you normally find in the area. I love a good ambiance, and this place has impressed me. The first time I came was for early evening appetizers, drinks, and dessert for a family birthday celebration. Between the four of us we tried all (about 10) the appetizers on the menu and were stuffed. Everything was very good, and everyone has their favorites. The martinis were delicious also, and we had fun trying a variety of new drinks. The service was exceptional, partly because for most of our two and a half hour visit we were the only people there. The owner was very personable and spent a lot of time visiting with us. The bartender and wait staff were fabulous also. I have only eaten at Sparkling Waters since them once for lunch with great service, tasty food, and very nice setting. Nice place, no one to greet us at front so we had to walk into restaurant and ask a waitress. Sat us in the bar which was nice, ordered the mussels which were not good. They took them off the bill and apologized (waiter said he tried them and he agreed they were bad). I had the Filet and Colossal Shrimp. Steak was cooked to order and shrimp were good. Being this far up north, it's hard to get good seafood. This is a nice place and the service was good. Had to give them 3 stars due to mussels. I don't eat here literally just because the owner is rude. She recently signed on to be a stop for the radio stations 'Girl's Night Out' and just belittled everyone that stopped there for a stamp because no one was staying to eat. If she hadn't been so rude she may have gained new customers like the other businesses but instead she had attitude and probably lost customers she already had. read more

So we anticipated great flavorful meals but it was a bit of a disappointment for our first time dinning here. The almond crusted walleye was soggy and almost tasteless, just a hint of lemon. This is by far the best restaurant in bemidji. The atmosphere is classy, elegant. The servers are very attentive. The food was out of this world. My husband had the filet mignon and I had the ribeye. We had several in our party order a filet, accompanied by either the soup of the day or their famous butternut squash bisque (an absolute must try!) Our server was wonderful, attentive, and very punctual. The owners are friendly and make certain that your night is memorable. This is a true you get what you pay for restaurant. The ambience is unmatched in the region. A beautiful fountain welcomes you in the foyer, with two story seating that overlooks lake Bemidji on the upper level. Modern updates to the bathrooms and bar finish a fine dining experience with a casual friendliness appropriate for however you are dressed. Anytime I ask friends from Bemidji where to eat...they say...oh...we don't have anyplace nice. Finally found a nice place for a pleasant evening out!! Was a party of 4. Ordered 2 orders of crab cakes. This was the big disappointment of the evening. Price to size comparison...does not compute. 2 small crab cakes for $12. Thought they would be bigger, thought they would be crunchier on the outside, and was discouraged by how fine the ingredients were chopped up inside. However, had the dill and chicken soup...AWESOME!! The 8 oz Ahi with Ginger Soy sauce, with twice baked potatoe and crunchy green beans was very good. I do not need to try another martini here tho. It was just okay. Waitress kind of disappeared after getting our food out. But, for Bemidji, this is a good place to go. read more

I have been to this restaurant on a handful of occasions. A mixed bag. Their drinks and hors d'oeuvres are decent. The ambience is nice enough. I do not appreciate driving through town to find political messages of the Qanon variety in my town on a business. Took my partner here to for their birthday. I was shocked at how long it took them to seat us as we had a reservation. They refused to give us wine as I look like a teenager due to my Benjamin Button's disease (I'm 73). Don't judge a book by its cover folks, especially a diseased book. The only youths at that place were workers. Or at least they acted like it. We come here once or twice a year for special occasions and love it. The owner is just delightful and Maria, our regular waitress is expert in a big city way, lots of fun and approachable. The food matches the people, it's a menu of specialties and everything I have ever had there is awesome. Beef is always cooked as ordered. Jumbo shrimp are the size of small lobsters. A bit surprised to be the first one to Review this establishment, but here goes... Traveled to Bemidji for work and visited this eatery for dinner based on a positive recommendation from a colleague/friend. Firstly, you'll quickly notice the fine dining vibe from the building inside and out along with the nice 2nd floor view to the nearby lake. Definitely an indication that the food would be a cut (or two) above the typical local fare. I ordered the Butternut Bisque (overly sweet), 8oz Filet (good cut but undercooked), and Chocolate Molten Lava Cake with Vanilla Gelato (that's just one dessert and simply amazing). As our team had an opportunity for one final dinner the following evening, we found ourselves back again (after calling ahead, the owner mentioned that Sat closing is typically 10PM but offered to stay open for our group without any prompting). Had some wine this time (a fair list with some surprisingly decent choices) to accompany Tomato and Mozz Salad and some shared apps that included a fried sampler plus cheese sampler. Food was better than the previous night, and to top off the evening was another one of those Lava Cakes (what else?) this time with a scoop of vanilla ice cream which goes better than the gelato. My husband and I decided to have a nice dinner out, so we decided to go to sparkling waters and try it again, my dad and I had been here right after it opened and had lunch, we thought it was so inviting, the decor is fine dining. but, my dad was eager to order, I tried to tell him that it would probably be chef portions, and sure enough he left there hungry, but in my opinion we did a bad choice of ordering, I did think it was so cute how everything came in little portions and little bowls, it was some sort of full course meal, from appetizer to desert, but tiny and petite. My dad was not impressed so sad to say I did not go back till now, and with that note, If you think the restaurant is fancy you got to check out the bathrooms, my oh my, talk about super clean and elegant, you could probably eat off the floor, and such a nice perfumey smell. We had a house salad, with house ranch that was soooo good, then we had the 14 oz ribeye with twice baked potatoes and fresh green beans dusted with parmesan. perfectly cooked steak, melted in the mouth, after it started getting dark the lights got dimmed, and what an atmosphere, think it will be dinner and close to dark when we go again. Such a special night. I would have given them 5 full stars if our table was not next to the conference area with a bus load of seniors having fun, which was ok, but kind of took away from our little quiet corner, but by the time our meal had arrived they cleared out. so all was great. Next time we will ask for a table further away from that area just in case. The only negative I would have on the meal is that the green beans were just a little too al dente. I wasn't impressed when they first opened, but my husband's boss held a dinner party here last night. A lame salad, entrées, and still frozen cheesecake took almost 3 hours to serve. The wait staff was frazzled and our requests were met with rude replies. My drink was refilled only twice!
