Great little bbq joint in Walker. We had quick and enjoyable service although we did stop in just ten minutes after opening so there was only a couple other groups in there. The build your own mac & cheese bowl was awesome. The sides for my husband's sandwich were plentiful. The rustic vibe is fun too. We had a GIANT wood slab table & there is plenty of pig decor too! Squeals ;) Will definitely be back if we're up north again.

My fiance and I stopped in here for an early dinner and it was SO good! We ordered a bowl that had mashed potatoes, meat, a cheese sauce and some cowboy caviar. We also got a mix of the ribs, pulled pork and brisket as well as some sides of mac and cheese, beans, and corn bread. Their bbq sauce is BOMB! Brisket and pulled pork were a bit dry. I loved the ribs though. Overall really friendly service and great food!

The service was great as was the indoor and outdoor ambiance. I loved the REAL potato chips and corn bread. I wasn't impressed, though, with my jackfruit sandwich. There wasn't much to it... bbq jackfruit and a bun (and not even much jackfruit). Not recommended for the vegetarian in the party.

We stopped here while passing through town on our way home from Lake of the Woods - such a cute little place to stop and eat! Tons of seating inside for being small and a patio! For a BBQ place, there wasn't a smoke smell, but the food tasted smoky which makes us wonder if it was liquid smoke being used vs smoking the meat. I had the pulled pork sandwich and my boyfriend had the create your own bowl (Mac and cheese with burnt ends). While I thought my sandwich was great, his bowl was pretty greasy and wasn't his favorite meal. The house chips were good though. Our server was really nice, and the food came out fast for being busy. We could only find street parking since it was in a "downtown" part of town.

Super tasty BBQ. Meal with the cornbread the kids menu, perfect for the lighter appetite. Macaroni and cheese served hot & flavorful, though a bit salty for my taste. Pulled pork sandwich tender with the right amount of tang.

Pulled pork sandwich comes out naked, you add the sauce to your liking. Food came out super fast! Price was reasonable. The pulled pork & mac was great

The outdoor seating was very nice . We enjoyed the perfect afternoon to enjoy lunch outdoors. The Piggy is a small BBQ spot in Walker . We all enjoyed our food and drinks . The pulled pork sandwich was very mild in smoke. Not overpowering buy any means . The bun was very fresh and soft . For me the sauce was lacking . Next time I'll ask if a spicer sauce is available it was in the sweeter side . My wife loved the burnt ends which are limited so ask upon arrival. Lastly my son enjoyed the Mac and Cheese . It was served with beans . Don't forget a piece of Cornbread.

Great ambiance. Pulled pork was a bit dry, service was great. BBQ had great smoke flavor and sauce was homemade.

Piggy platter, DRY! Everything was DRY!

We were very disappointed in the food. Pretzels were hard and the cheese needed to be a bit cheesier. We also ordered the Piggy platter with the burnt ends. Overall, the best thing about the dish was the corn bread. Every item, literally EVERY PIECE OF MEAT was dry. Not worth the money. We ended up packing the leftovers for our furry doggy friends back home. Let's just say, I had the chase every bite down with a gulp of beer. The best part about our dinner were the chips, draft beer, and service (hence, the 2 stars). That says a lot about the meat! We won't be coming back.

The door because we forgot to take any of the food and now it's all gone... wee wee wee, all the way home.

Easy to give this gem a solid 5 stars. I had the pulled pork sandwich and hubs had the burnt ends on a sandwich. We split a coleslaw, Mac & cheese and baked bean. Skip the kettle chips and grab an extra side, they are all really good. There is a spicy sauce but it is in little tubs not a squeeze bottle. It's not real spicy, we would actually have preferred a bit more heat, but the flavor was so good, we just don't mind. Service was also great. All around a terrific experience.

It's dog friendly but you are not welcome there, because you are literally only ever reviewing places poorly because they followed country wide pandemic guidelines, in order to keep you and your family safe. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Our meal…read moretook over two hours, and it very much seemed that the staff believed "sorry we are busy" and a free desert would make it all better. More details below. The food was excellent, except for the falafel. I've never had falafel before that wasn't crispy on the outside. I'm not sure if the dish sat for a while before being served, or if The Pines simply serves it non-crispy. It was soggy. The great food included: Chicken, Scampi, Sea Bass, Walleye Tempura, Popovers, Potatoes, Beets, Cauliflower. All of these were excellent and everyone at our table was so pleased. The service: I'm not sure if I will return. It is unlikely. Our initial round of food appeared very quickly. Things slowed down after that. The rest of the food took an eternity to arrive. I truly considered asking for the bill and leaving before our mains, but we were treating friends. My tiny water glass kept going empty, and finally someone asked if we would like a carafe of water. Yes, yes indeed. Beverages were in general slow. We were told that we would receive a free desert, and asked for the menu. When she came to see what we might order, we had to ask for the menu a second time. More slow. What fun. I privately let our server know I was quite disappointed prior to the bill arriving. I was crystal clear before we ordered that I was to receive the bill. The bill was left on the table with one of my guests. I provided my credit card, and again the bill was left with my female guest. Did you even look at my name on the card (an obviously male name).

The restaurant itself is bright and inviting, the staff is super attentive and friendly and the food is fresh and innovative. Their Risotto was one of my favorite dishes I have ever had and I am still dreaming about the popovers. There is also a speakeasy in the basement and the drinks are delicious! Upscale workout being stuffy. Loved everything about our visit!

Nice menu and as a whole for a rural MN place it is pretty good. Salad bar is definitely a step above the typical place like this that only has iceberg lettuce, croutons, Bac-os, cheese, cherry tomatoes and carrot shavings with french and ranch for dressings. As a whole, a step above the others in its food genre. For that I'll give it 4 stars. But if your arteries are feeling healthy and you want a good old fashioned greasy meat sandwich have I got the 5 star recommendation for you. The ribeye steak sandwich. Might be sacrilegious to put a nice steak on bread, BUT.... Freshly cut and grilled ribeye, toasted bread and lots of butter. Do you need anything more? A good beer to wash it down? Sure. But that's it. I can't get away from this every time we go through here. It is simply fantastic. Again, juicy steak, butter, toasted bread and more butter. Wow. Comes with fries I think. I don't really care what it comes with actually. Probably will contribute to my early death from heart disease. But oh well. Life can't be all salads and smoothies.

Broasted too long, dust for a crust and dry meat with little to no seasoning. Three people in our group got it and nobody ate a second piece. Mashed potatoes were instant, which was a let down because how hard is it to boil a potato? Roll on the plate was nice to see but there was no butter. Walleye bites was the other order and they were overcooked, dry and bland. Color of the batter gave away the age of the oil; dark and old. Service was so so, nobody asked how the food was and when paying the bill there was no checking to see how the meal was or a thanks, see you next time etc. Heard good things about the chicken, thought we'd try it, glad we did because I don't have to go for the Friday fish fry now. Sorry but I cannot see trying this again.
