I love the Sparks Marina. So friendly and walkable. Especially after shopping, eating or movie-going at Legends. Big Kudos to Sparks for their ability to plan such awesome walkability options!

This place is easy walk after grabbing coffee. I like the sight of water and nature consisting of birds and ducks surrounding the area. It's quiet and big enough for people to have enough space to be able to walk, move around or jog. Love it!

I come to the Sparks Marina every now and then to walk the 2-Mile Loop. You can access the path at various entry points with plenty of parking available. We like to park closer to Scheels, but the main entrance is on Howard Drive. One thing that is great about this multi-use trail is that it's completely paved, so it can be used by everyone. We started early in the morning before it got really hot. The Nevada Veterans Memorial Plaza is also located here. We always like to pay our respects.

Relaxing walk around the Marina after having lunch and shopping at Legends. Peaceful and walking of the calories. FAM fest was going on so it was nice to visit the vendors and support local food trucks.

This place is a joke!!!! They don't have room but they are collecting $15 to get on a waitlist? That's theft!!! Oh and read the rules lol have to have a tow vehicle on sight at all times. So I can't go to work, should I ride public transportation? Who's going to move my trailer in case of an emergency? Seriously do I leave my keys with the office?? these people are insane. It's an Rv park these people get a grip. I'll take my $200,000 down the road.

I love the marina. I remember when the city of Sparks opened it and it was the next hot hangout. I spent a lot of time here as a teen with my parents and my younger siblings. When I moved back in my early 20's I used to enjoy jogging there from my nearby apartment at sunrise. Before the mall or even the Target; there was an old sports complex that was nearby before Legends. A lot of fond memories here. Summer nights playing volleyball at night with friends and leisurely strolling just to get some steps in. Fast forward to my life as a mom. I love bringing my kids here to play and for some excercise. I'm so grateful for the sponsors that made it possible for this park. It's really a neat addition to our area. I picked up Port of subs and decided to enjoy the weather and lunch at the park today with the family. I let my little guy play and he rode his scooter while we strolled. He's so inquisitive and his curiosity led us to the Veteran's memorial. I had to explain to my little one what this meant. It's beautiful and I'm glad to see it finally finished. (I know how proud we feel for our Navy seal in my family.) I'm glad to see how much the marina has evolved. I love having local spots that I'm able to pick up coffee or lunch nearby. If their little snack shop is open, they serve refreshments and their nachos aren't bad. My kids enjoy their root beer floats in the Summer months. Today we ordered a few raspsdos from an ice cream truck that also sold Antojitos. All in all a great afternoon spent with my family. Grateful to have the Marina so close to home.

This is such a great park to take a morning walk at. The views of the lakes are so beautiful and peaceful. We walked the whole loop for about an hour. There is a coffee shop in front of the luxury apartments to get some food and drink. There's plenty of people walking as well, so you're not alone. Great park!

It's summertime and this walking trail is getting mega popular. There are a couple of different parking lots available on either side of the trail. The playground side seems to fill up quicker for parking in my opinion. A lot of families and groups come out to this trail to run, walk, or ride bikes. I saw there is a dog park on one part of the park too. My friends and I like to wait until it cools down to go walking here or early in the morning before the sun heats up. There is also a snack shack on the playground side. This park is near legends outlet mall and near cafes and restaurants. Definitely recommend taking a walk here or bringing the family

Beautiful park. Great location. Pretty incredible dog parks. My only criticism is that when you ask for a pull through you may need to unhook your vehicle anyway. Some pull through sites are not long enough.

Driving by and able to stop along the side to get a beautiful picture. I can see why this park is so busy in the summer time. All ages visit the park, and the kids enjoy the playground. You can take a nice brisk walk to get your steps in too!

The newly opened and recently updated park at that marina is a popular spot for kids both young and old. I love to see the cities put funding into our local parks! Bonus points for making it inclusive for more kids to enjoy! I love the bold, bright colors, the interactive sensory items, and all the climbing play. I also love that it is now gated which is an added layer of protection which is always nice! There is a section with picnic tables, pack a lunch or a snack and stop by for a visit!

We've been walking around Sparks Marina for years so I'm surprised I've never reviewed it. When I came to review it today, it was because this is the first time I've seen the park's little refreshment concession called Goodies Cafe... open and doing a thriving business. I verified hours. The Cafe is only reliably open weekends until school is out. Then every day into the evening, as late as 9 all summer. I'm very excited to report the Root-beer Float was awesome!!! They have smoothies that look great too. See menu picture. This is, in my opinion the premier place to walk in Sparks. There are only very gradual ups and downs and the whole route is cemented. It's not difficult to push a wheelchair or transport chair around the whole Marina. Seniors walk with walkers. There are many benches for seated rests around the water and there are two restrooms. There is also Lighthouse Coffee right on the water near the new upscale restaurant called Sparks Water Bar. There's a a very nice child's playground over by Goodies Cafe. The playground is on the opposite side of the marina from the restaurant and coffee shop VERY close to parking. People also bicycle around the path as well as skating etc. Lots of people bring dogs on leashes. It's an all around WONDERFUL place for ALL ages including the elderly who love to be outside but can't handle the nature trails anymore. We love it here. There are many many California Ground squirrels living in the large boulder retaining walls. They come out in hopes of receiving treats. Some are VERY friendly and fearless. (:-). The Canadian Geese hang out here for their season. The DOG PARK is an awesome dog park right on the water. The construction of the new and improved Nevada Veteran's Memorial Plaza is COMPLETE and it's beautiful. There are memorial plaques on the ground. It's very nicely done. There is nothing here that isn't lovely. I'm so glad it's SPRING !!! If you find this review useful please vote!

I drive to the marina a few times a month to stretch my legs, get some fresh air, and get some laps in. One loop is a little under 2 miles. I feel safe there and the park is maintained nicely. The only big drawback is all the bird poop-- that stuff is everywhere you step. Forget trying to sit on the grass and relax. I wouldn't wear new shoes there either. *People, please don't feed the BIRDS! Depending on the time of day/week and type of weather the walking path is either completely void of people or it's as packed as a freeway during rush hour traffic. I have used to bathrooms on the northwest side of the park and they have always been clean. There's a playground, dog park, Veterans memorial, gazebo, beach for volleyball, areas for fishing and swimming, and a seasonal concession stand. Nearby is a coffee shop, restaurants, hotel, and shopping. *Do some reading up on the history of the area that is now the marina- an interesting tidbit of Spark's past.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! TIM IS ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE & LEAD US INTO A DANGEROUS CONSTRUCTION ZONE…read moreWITH HIGH WATER & STRONG CURRENTS! This should be negative stars. My aunt booked a trip for a river float for my cousin's birthday. There were about 10 of us. The guide, Tim, was completely incompetent, rude, & overall just creepy with the things he said. He kept singing songs about smoking in the morning and getting drunk at night. He also told us an inappropriate story about how he found a guy "jerking off in a crawl space". Aside from the inappropriate comments/ stories, there were multiple signs telling us to exit the river because there was a construction zone ahead. We asked Tim multiple times if we should be getting out soon because the signs were telling us to. He ignored all of us and just kept us floating. We passed by 3 warning signs telling us to get out of the river and we were seeing other people floating get out where the signs were. Then there was one last sign saying "Emergency River Exit Here" and people hanging out by the right side of the river telling us "get out now!" But Tim still just says nothing. Luckily, a random girl hanging out by the water decides to try to stop our group so we can try to get out safely before entering the construction zone but then she got swept away with the current & 4 others in our group and she almost drowned. We told Tim, "this girl is drowning & she needs help!" and he said, "well she's not apart of our group so she's not our problem" as she was visibly almost drowning and literally gasping for help. Luckily, she was able to grab onto my brother's tube and they held onto a branch for at least 10 minutes. One of the group members who successfully got out before the construction zone threw down a life jacket for the girl but she and my brother were still stuck on the opposite side of the river against a concrete wall IN THE CONSTRUCTION ZONE WHERE WE WEREN'T SUPPOSED TO BE. Me, my husband and my dad got swept further down into the construction zone and then finally, at the last minute, Tim says, "get out now!!" as we're already in a complete danger zone. So we all try to get off to the left side of the river as fast as we can to get out. His exit strategy was to grab onto a rock or branch as quick as we could so we didn't go into the rapids and diverted river area. Luckily, we all got out in time but we were literally in an enclosed fenced/ locked construction zone and had to pry ourselves through the fenced area to get out. We had to walk back to the office and tried to talk to Tim & get a refund and he says, "I don't have any money. I'm a terrible person and I want to die. I should just kill myself." (Which is a great thing you want to hear from your "tour guide"). We were also supposed to get a "lunch and drinks" after our float. We were given warm beers in a bag, NO LUNCH and left alone outside on the patio. We walked out of the office after Tim was being suicidal and crazy & he eventually locked himself in the office so we weren't able to talk to him anymore. We were stuck outside wondering how we're going to get back to our hotel because there was no one outside to give us any information. We HAD TO PAY TO GET AN UBER BACK TO OUR HOTEL because Tim would not communicate with us. We also talked to the owner, Jim and he called us liars and didn't believe any of this happened. Can't make this stuff up. Craziest experience I've ever had with any type of "tour guide". During the float, Tim also called a girl in our group "retarded" because she fell off her tube and had a hard time getting back on through the rapids. He was also yelling at her for falling off and said "you shouldn't have let go!" DO NOT BOOK THIS TOUR OR ANYTHING WITH THIS COMPANY!! YOU CAN EASILY (& FREELY/ MORE SAFELY) FLOAT THIS RIVER ON YOUR OWN!!! Save yourself the money and headache. WE DID NOT GET REFUNDED EVEN AFTER HAVING TO CLIMB OUT OF A CONSTRUCTION ZONE!!!! The most unprofessional and UNSAFE experience! Here is a link to a video that shows the construction area Tim lead us into: https://www.rgj.com/videos/news/2025/06/06/the-truckee-river-is-diverted-as-construction-continues-on-the-arlington-avenue-bridge-project/84079962007/ In the video they say, "One of the things we are encouraging the public to be aware of is; as the river is currently diverted, the south side of this channel is going to be HIGHER and FASTER. So we are telling people NOT to use the river recreationally in that time because of the SPEED and DEPTH." Attached are some photos from the video link that show the exact location we floated past into the construction area and shows the "EMERGENCY RIVER EXIT" sign that Tim floated us past!!

They kept the boat until March 2019 and upon picking it up, I found that they did not even look into my helm issues. When I asked him about that, the technician said they don't do that kind of work. They did find the source of the motors not starting, which was remedied with replacing the corroded fuel pumps and replacing a corroded wiring harness on the port engine. When I got home, I noticed that the CDI computer covers were both missing. I called the shop and asked him to locate them for me, but he immediately denied losing them. He had removed both of the CDIs because he was troubleshooting the electrical corrosion issue and had suspected that possibly one of the CDIs had failed. The areas where the covers were supposed to be mounted were very clean and free of grime, whereas everything around those areas was grimy. I had to purchase two covers and 8 stainless steel mounting bolts for a total of $164. After picking up the boat, I kept smelling raw fuel when I ran it and today I ran it with the cowls off of the motors. I immediately noticed fuel running out of the starboard motor from the vapor separator tank (VST), which houses the fuel pump . I shut the motor down and inspected the source of the leak. What I found was very disturbing; while changing the the fuel pump, the technician broke the top corner of the VST and attempted to conceal the damage with some sort of calking or sealant, which allowed fuel to leak past his sealant. I feel fortunate that there was not a fire or explosion from all of the fuel that was leaking into the casing. I'm not sure why the technician was not up front with me regarding the damage, because I do understand that 18 year old saltwater applications occasionally break during disassembly. I know that I would have ended up paying for the replacement part (as I have now), but why would someone send something out of the shop that is a hazard for explosion which would likely lead to serious injury and possible loss of the entire boat? That is a careless, irresponsible and unprofessional act! If you value your investment or your life, steer clear of Sierra Sport and Marine!!
