Went on to say there was additional pet fee of $1K, which of I was not convinced came from a reasonable place, but instead a deterrent to prevent us any interest in applying. The owner of this building is clearly racist and discriminatory towards a specific group of interested tenants (Hispanic/latino). This is not a reflection of the real-estate agent, Stella or the company, but the owner Needs to be reprimanded and spoken to.

My bf really wanted to see one more property but his contact was taking DAYS to get back to him which just goes to show how unreliable other brokers can be. Lol All in all, a great experience and I'm so grateful we crossed paths considering how emotionally draining apartment hunting already is. As a side note, parking is pretty convenient - plenty of meters out front or on the nearest side street, and free on the block behind the office. When I arrived, Benjamin greeted me and we chatted for a moment, and then he indicated that Jason would be taking me to see a couple of places. I had indicated that I was on a tight schedule in regards to finding a place, and they told me they would find me something that day. Jason was friendly, warm, professional, humorous, and unbelievably helpful. I was fairly clear in my own mind what I wanted in an apartment, but, being new to New York and knowing absolutely nothing about Queens, was open in regards to what neighborhood I ended up in as well as some other factors. I have no idea how many apartments we looked at, but it seemed like a lot. Jason was respectful in regards to what I was looking for in an apartment - he even thanked me when I nixed a place based on the creepy hallway (I would have looked at it, but he was having trouble getting a hold of the super). Jason asked whether I'd want to see studios and I said that I really didn't, but he encouraged me to take a look at this one place and he would check to see if he had anything else available. When I arrived for our second appointment, I said that I REALLY didn't want to see the studio but he encouraged me to do so anyway. I have had many great experiences with salespeople who encourage me to try something slightly different than what I was originally looking for - if they are really great at their job, they really do know what they are talking about! We arrived at the studio - in yet another neighborhood - and it had been listed incorrectly - it was a one bedroom! And it was more perfect than I could have hoped for. Rather than receiving transparent answers or supporting documentation, I was repeatedly told the requirements were "non-negotiable," threatened with fines, and ultimately informed that management would "not engage further" because the conversation had become "repetitive." As a shareholder, asking reasonable questions about building policies, insurance requirements, and risk management should not be treated as an inconvenience. At no point was any actual explanation provided regarding whether these limits were based on insurer recommendations, legal counsel, lender requirements, claims history, or any formal analysis. Instead, responses felt dismissive, defensive, and unnecessarily combative. Professional property management should include transparency, accountability, and respectful communication with residents -- especially when imposing financial requirements and penalties. I hope ownership takes shareholder concerns more seriously moving forward and improves how management communicates with residents.

Our biggest obstacle was cleaning out the house, so Abigail and George referred to us two great companies to help out. They also continually checked in the whole time, to see if we needed any other help whatsoever. When we lost an important paper, Abigail helped us get another copy and even printed it out for my Dad since she knew he was busy cleaning up and might not even have a printer working anymore. Abigail said she thought of my parents like her own and she meant it 100%! On the final day when they had to hand over their keys, my parents still weren't fully done cleaning out, so Abigail herself helped move things and disassemble things (I'm sure George would have too, but he was at another appt).
