An annual car show brought us here. I'm really stringent with my eating, and don't have carbs after lunch (truly my way of life). While watching the house band, I got hungry. We popped across the street to Sparta. I had their meatballs (in a cup; no roll, etc.) and a decaf (any size $1.89!). Both were fantastic- like truly. I finally tried Sparta after hearing many things about it! I got their falaffel which was really good considering it's just a gas station. They have an extensive food menu as well as ready to made items. Because the counter food is all made to order it did take a long time, but interested in trying what else they have to offer including their chicken. I haven't gotten gas or anything else from inside so I can't speak on that. I'll give it another try again in the future though. read more

Yes it's a gas station with amazing falafel and hummus. Get over it (I did as soon as I entered!). It's honestly a better version of Wawa. They have touch screens for ordering and everything is brand new and spotless! We got two falafel pitas and a side of hummus. The falafel was $4.99 each and the hummus was $2.50 and huge! The falafel patties are shaped and fried to order but it's really fast. Every component, from the Tzatziki and the tahini sauce to the pita, was perfect and so satisfying. I enjoyed the hummus as a snack a few hours later! Just go here, fill your tank and eat some good food. I'll definitely be back soon, and wish Sparta could replace a few Wawas! read more

Upon entering Sparta, you feel as though you've entered a more Eastern Wawa. There are a couple menu ordering screens that feature a variety of Eastern and Western cuisine. Everything from chili, fries, and mac & cheese to falafel, gyro, and kabobs. The store has a vast selection of coffee flavors and various hot chocolate flavors as well. Items on shelves include the standards (Lays Chips, Hershey candy bars, etc.), but also some Krispie Kreme items and a bakery case of- I'm assuming- homemade baked goods. Premade breakfast sandwiches, warmed soft pretzels, and lunch type sandwiches can be found in heating units on the counters and, in the deli case, a selection of salads and fruit options. The drink selection includes both canned/bottled options, as well as fountain soda and slushies. Sparta is, in and of itself, a unique experience. Food takes a bit longer to prep, but it's fresh made and worth the wait. The only complaints I have were that the ATM costs $1.75 (Wawa has spoiled me) and the coffee was kind of blah. Aside from those two "issues," I really like sparta! I got a chicken gyro and it was delicious, but NOT far friendly. Read: eat at a table with plenty of napkins. I implore you to give sparta a try. You might find a staple menu item that brings you back again and again. read more

I've had food from Sparta at least 5 times. Each time it's fine, not great. The photo I'm including is of their "gyro". I'd call it a wrap because they're isn't an expected pita. The meat is tasty but there is some spice they use that is different than any other greek/med meat I've had before. It's not bad just not what you'd expect. If they used pitas I'd like it more. read more

As convenience go this place is easy to get in and get out if you're looking for gas, a gallon of milk or a freshly made breakfast sandwich. They also have a pretty substantial full-service grill serving American , Mediterranean and Mexican fair Which I've eaten that at least 10 times. I have to say though that I had a burger from them the the other day and I wasn't exactly excited about the end product. Specifically the hamburger bun was substandard considering the price I paid for the burger, (almost as much as a five guys burger) My usual go to is the lamb GYRO from them, and has for the most part been spot on & tasty except that it should be on a pita, not a tortilla wrap. I guess the chef was having a bad day because the last one I got was dry and uneventful. The only other thing that I wish that they would correct is the food containers they give you with your gyro order, specifically the Styrofoam containers which are not very environmentally friendly and they should do away with them And find a compostable solution. As I always say, I'll give them a few more chances, and update my review if I see improvement. I will add that their breakfast sandwiches have been 5 star through and through as are their French fries. read more

Outside looks like a regular convenience store but make sure you come inside and try the falafel and gyro. I have yet to try to spinach pie but I have a feeling that will be equally amazing. Being from the city, I was used to my falafel fix and have a pretty high standard. After moving to the suburbs, I thought it would be a distant memory. This is no longer the case now that we have Sparta right down the street. If I was forced to say one negative thing about this place it would be they tend to run skimpy on the tahina sauce on their falafel sandwich. I know to order it with extra sauce. Perhaps one day I will try a hoagie but with all these other amazing choices, perhaps not. read more

I work in the building right next to here so I come in almost every day I'm working for breakfast or lunch (sometimes both). Their breakfast sandwiches are so fresh and their chips and hummus are the best mid day snack! It's not good, but it has some positives. All the animal flesh was cooked into leather, but the rest of it was alright. I was sort of expecting a couple of gyros, and an assortment of souvlaki/kalamaki. Street food, basically, but packed for delivery during statewide lockdown. The tzatziki sauce was fine, but there could have been more of it. I've never been served anything in Greece, let alone souvlaki, on what amounts to a bucket of rice. The rice was tasty, although rice and Greece do not compute in my mind. I didn't see spanakopita on their menu. Maybe I just ordered the wrong things from their menu. read more

Great food but the only thing i hate is when I'm forced to get the ready made salad which comes with the meal. They sell the same salads there you can but separately. My meal would cost less without the salad. Wish it was an option on their order system to " skip " but you can't. I'd probably get that platter more often. Great falafel though. As soon as I posted, someone else(most likely the owner) posted saying I worked for wawa and left a very mean and negative post because I called them on their shitty food and prices. Have been coming here since they opened and they NEVER disappoint! Great staff and friendly owners. Both the store and the Mediterranean grill are always spotless and all the food is crazy fresh. My fav is the Falafel sandwich on Pita which is amazing... AMAZING! (get it with theTahini sauce, it rocks!) Priced right at 4.99, too. So much better than the local Wawa for food choices. read more

Stopped for gas and a quick bite to eat after the gym. It was around 8pm so it was pretty empty in the store but the cashier was friendly and the food was cooked fresh to order. I had the falafel and bought some hummus. Both were great in my opinion and the tub of (what seemed to be homemade) hummus was around the same price and size you'd get at the grocery store for much better quality. read more

My friends and I had made a late night trip to Sparta only to be disrespected by one of the managers my friend thought the iced coffee was $1.39 due to a sign that said "$1.39 any cold drink" he told my friend it's not his fault he can't read and that he would be sorry if he came back because he would break his legs (I also have video proof) not only after being disrespected we were later followed outside and told to not come back overall my experience here has left me beyond belief never will I come back!! read more
